  1. Byron is a mixed blood Ishgardian (Hyur and Elezen) and due to the recent assassination of his mother by the Faces of Mercy has become a self-imposed exile though he still loves his homeland despite his anger and dissatisfaction for it of late. He was born to a retainer house of House Haillenarte and was about to undergo dragoon training to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather but kept being passed over for Elezens which made him start to kinda dislike them though when he learned of his mixed heritage he began trying to relax himself more. I have basically nothing to do with him until the expansion and I'm pretty flexible if anything comes to mind for you.
  2. I listen to whatever for the most part, though I have chosen some general and combat theme songs for some of my characters.
  3. I personally have no qualms about sexuality in RP and will go on the record and say that I've no room to judge since I've done a lot of things, not all I'm proud of but by the Gods I've done them. Ultimately though I prefer it to be a natural part of character progression and quietly frown upon doing it "Just cuz." I'm uber picky, I've been playing FF14 for over a year and none of my chars have really gotten into any relationships since I've not really found any worthy partners yet. Also some traits all my chars share is loyalty and affection for those they fancy... I also enjoy showering them with gifts. So if any of my chars start doing that then watch out, they might like you When it comes to my characters, Valthoran is heterosexual though he doesn't mind being flirted with by men and just takes it as a compliment. He prefers intellectual partners and considers magical aptitude a bonus. He does prefer Elezen though with an emphasis on his fellow Duskwights. Byron is heterosexual and likes both Hyur, Elezen, and those of mixed blood. Though being from Ishgard his racial interest are very locked and never considered others. Merri is 100% homosexual despite being a traditional Keeper of the Moon and is only interested in fellow Keepers. Aside from that she is more flexible and just desires to be held and feel accepted. Shes also fluffy and purple. Very purple. Aurelia is somewhat bisexual with a bit of a preference for women, though being a Garlean magitek engineer caused her to focus most of her life on her work and has only recently been allowed to peek into her sexuality and feelings for others in general. Ansathota is bisexual with no clear preference, though she does claim to enjoy a woman's softness. Being a former pirate she's pretty relaxed on the whole issue though she becomes more girly around those she fancies. Haihane is bisexual though she is much too shy to ever outwardly show much interest in another, though she opens up easier to other Domans and those interested in her people's spirituality. Pharos is pretty much asexual and only has interest in gil due to being a sheltered albino Ul'dahn noblewoman. Though being released from the confines of her home has made her available for exploring herself further. Would most likely take a patient and knowledgeable friend to get close enough for her to become that way.
  4. We are always around, plotting our Garlean plots.
  5. I always felt it was safe to assume that the Othardian people from the Heavensturn event were from a city-state not yet controlled by Garlemald since why would they let emissaries out to Eorzea? Unless they were spies of course...
  6. I know that the game needs more tank classes but the spirit of self-sacrifice often found in Dark Knights doesn't really seem to fit the idea of a tank but maybe they will work around that. I guess I'm mostly disappointed because I prefer either healing or DPSing so DRK being a tank basically destroys end game for the class for me. Was really looking forward to being a DPSing wielder of darkness. SE please let me have Mystic Knight and if you are going to make it a tank please make it awesome. Why can't our bladed class, ROG/NIN aside, be DPS instead of tank? I guess that's what off-tanking is for...
  7. POETICS GEAR MAKES US FROM TRON! Must become super Tron monk of doom...
  8. I would posts some screenies I have but they just make me feel kinda sad
  9. I have a Doman character named Haihane Shiranui and I'm also starting up a Doman FC with the help of some friends if you want to get involved with that. Our goal is to get a house and make it a haven for all Doman players, not just those in the FC.
  10. My Garlean magitek engineer made a model vanguard and she sometimes has it follow her and my scholar has a wind-up succubus that he's going to find in Haukke Manor only to discover is being possessed by a lesser voidsent.
  11. I almost feel guilty just reading this... but my miqo has some uncommon social traits which makes prospective interests very restricted.
  12. Wow they actually answered my question. Seems like Faeries and Carbuncles are much more alike being that they are crafted, however Faeries draw from the world's aether to maintain their physical manifestation. Since Scholars crafted Faeries I wonder if the art of their creation will be unearthed so that more and more faeries will be brought into the world. Though I wonder if faeries are bound to the Scholar like a blood-pact or if they are bound to a Scholar's soul crystal sorta like a lich or homunculus. Since the Faerie you get in the quests was "sleeping" in the soul crystal and Surito Cartio couldn't use it due to his mutated aetheric resonance, it may in fact be a bit of both.
  13. Might as well toss my opinion out here. For the three new dungeons I kinda loled about Sastasha HM because it feels like SE went "Hmm whats cooler than pirates? Demon/Eldrich Pirates! DUH!" Either way though at the end of the day, pirates are still cool. Just need a ninja dungeon now. I rather liked Qarn as it felt a bit more like something you might find in a Zelda game and I love stuff that punishes players who want to run around willy-nilly stabbing at things and putting stuff where it doesn't belong. Something that rewards more strategy and punishes run-n-gun tactics is fine by me. Snowcloak has a lot of potential, notably it could be used as a way to unlock the Western Coerthas Highlands for exploration and it's always nice to see an old face like Fenrir as a boss. I also am wondering if we will be able to see the ruins of Falcon's Nest and/or Camp Riversmeet hidden within the ice. Totally looking forward to all the Ninja stuff for my Doman and some other of my chars and if they sneak in another job like THF for all those Locke fans it would just add to the awesome... while also helping make solo DPS queues HORRIBLY impractical. Gonna be seeing Syrcus Tower groups where all the DPS are ninjas, I've seen it for BRDs. I really REALLY hope something is done about the mat drop rate as has been said before, though I read someplace about how Yoshi-P was playing and talked to someone who had been trying to get a set from the old set of HM dungeons but kept getting nothing but mats and it made him think that looking cool is more important than mats so he would look into fixing it somehow. Idk how much further he has gotten into it but we can hope right? Other things I'm looking forward to are new hairstyles and armor. Can never be too cute and/or badass.
  14. Haha our Garlean group are loyalists... for the most part.
  15. I made a char that I intended to be a naive noblewoman who ends up picking up the cause of justice out of that childish desire to right wrongs in the world only to come to realize that corruption is found in every group of people, even the good ones, and eventually go down the path of being like an anti-hero or knight in sour armor. Ultimately being a Dark Knight was my preferred outcome for her but after only rping on her once shes sat dormant for months and now I'm considering deleting her. My character creativity tends to come up with female ideas, though my dedicated main is male, and I come up with so many ideas that 8 slots really doesn't cut it.
  16. You already know I wanna hang out with you
  17. Might as well toss my opinion in here. Death is a strange concept for me to grasp irl and I have a hard time responding to it normally; however I still greatly dislike it and honestly over the past 7 years I've been rping I haven't had any of my characters die because I didn't want it and was in a position to avoid it most of the time. I would be heartbroken if a char I'm very invested in died, granted you are aware of my altaholism so of course not all my chars mean to me as much as others. If my Ishgardian were to die I would be upset because he never got to achieve his full potential and be the knight I want him to be. This sort of thinking is what I use for my more minor and/or underdeveloped characters, however my more important chars like Valthoran, Merri, and Aurelia mean a whole hell of a lot to me and if they died I would make a new char dedicated to assassinating whoever was lucky and stupid enough to take me down, haha. But to bring a solid answer to your question, no I don't think I could accept a perma-death situation unless I had very specific terms set in place beforehand. Granted my personal experience with my chars not dieing while having a lot of others chars around mine dieing makes me biased.
  18. Wow great job, very interesting. Ishgard is a little crazier than I thought which is surprising. I'm greatly interested in the leves found in Mor Dhona, Upper La Noscea, and Outer La Noscea.
  19. Oh one of these days Byron will get to be the knight I want him to be.
