Unless they were twins I think it would be pretty unlikely that A'ri would have a bio-sis... And even that would be a stretch considering they didn't end up together with the same family.

Can't really offer much in the way of romance from Y'id! But if he isn't the type to start a 6 month feud because Y'id made made an offhand comment his hair that she forgot about within 2 seconds then I am always up for having more contact for Y'id to meet with. Even if it's just bumping into eachother and getting drunk... Since Y'id does that a lot... :tonberry:

I assume you are in America since you posted this at 3am! I don't think Y'id has pissed anyone off enough to get her killed... yet. But if you're looking for someone to interact with peacefully, maybe to just keep up appearances of fitting in, or something like that then I'm always up for RP.

Ah, didn't realize that. I know it was pretty bad a few years ago when I first started playing. Had to login at like 6am or something in that sweet spot between American's sleeping and Europeans not waking up yet. Guess it would only get worse though! Glad I made a bunch of characters back in the day!

Welcome! Not really sure what the RP scene is like on Zodiark. I think you're the first person I've ever heard mention it! If you're struggling to find anything there though, I would recommend creating a character over on Balmung as that's where the vast majority of RP happens. If you can find a few people there that are up for it though then go for it :thumbsup:

Yeah, so many times I wonder why everyone just stands around and accepts a death. It's similar to Mass Effect,t where everyone is equpied with seemingly limitless rechargeable shields. Yet Shepard can shoot anyone in the face and kill them instantly just because they are talking with guns pointed at each other and that's an acceptable time to turn off shields? Or Harry Potter instant teleportation spells which jump into existence 5 or 6 books in and would have really come in handy before! :dazed: It's pretty hard to stay consistent with things like healing magic though. Especially if you're playing as a healing class and just watching your 300 quest long buddy die in front of you.

Welcome! I can't say much about Gilgamesh since I've never been on there... But Balmung is always packed with RP during the night! And that doesn't even include the majority of it that happens in private houses and such. :thumbsup:

Welcome back! Had a nice experience with a card reader the other night that was a lot of fun, creates a pretty fun scenario when it's done in public around a group of friends! Hi! What timezone are you in? I have also kept the past 20 years of Y'id's life pretty free/hidden but for what I imagine she has been getting up to I think having a airship captain for a friend or even just business would make sense. It'd be nice to have someone from Y'id's past be a thing though. But failing that I'm up for having an extended friendship in place, they could be past friends or become new ones depending on what you'd prefer. :bouncy:

I'm always up for finding long term friends RP wise! Though I do enjoy meeting new people, I would also happily enjoy RP'ing with the same small group at any given free time. I like RP'ing in public somewhere and seeing orange names arrive! Don't know if Y'id would work out as a romantic interest, but you never know what could happen 8 years down the line! :lol:

Alright good to know, I don't really have any specific spells in mind but more just knowing if it would be possible in general, but that pretty much how I thought it was, just wasn't sure if it was somehow not possible just because it's an arcanist! Thanks for the help! :moogle:

Thank you! I found a couple of the links in older threads but not all of them! And yeah, I figured it was the like your Hogwarts example but I just wasn't really sure if there was any kind of limitations. So going off of that, would you think replicating an exact spell from black/white magic be harder for a arcanist to do as it would be using their own power instead of drawing from outside sources (In most cases)... OR would it in be possible to be more powerful if you had access to a greater pool of aether from a particularly powerful mage than drawing in from nearby sources would allow... If that makes sense (I think what I'm trying to say is in a similar sense to discussing CNJ/WM using their own aether for spells). Or would that also be in the realms of headcannon?

I've been reading through some older threads so I think I have the grasp on the basics of it all, but there's a few things that I'm not really certain of, or just think could be interesting for potential character ideas. 1. So if Scholar tomes are different, and contain more text and strategy rather than the symbols required to cast certain spells, how do they actually go about casting spells... Do their tomes contain all the same symbols that they require PLUS the text, or is there something I'm missing there? Bonus question, what exactly do those strategies/text talk about specifically? 2. Would it be possible to turn their book itself into a sort of familiar, I'm not really sure on the extent of what they would want to do with it, but I was thinking perhaps something along the lines of having the book try and stay where it needs to be e.g floating instead of needing to be held, or returning to it's owner if it was dropped or knocked away or even just turning to certain pages. 3. Going back to the symbols required, a lot of people ask if they could cast from memory of the shapes, but what from what I understand it's about the ink used as well, so about if they just had certain spells in tattoo form, or say somehow inscribed or drawn onto the top of rings or other jewellery, I know it wouldn't be an easy thing to create, but it wouldn't be impossible, right? 4. Lastly just more of a general question which often holds my creativity back, but what is the extent of the type of magic they can produce. Are all the spells tied to a specific school of magic (As the in game spells all seem to be about damage over time spells and such) Would they be able to produce fire or other kind of elemental spells that a thaumaturge could do? What Kasi said! I've never been on the other RP server(s).. But I can confirm that Balmung is often very packed with RP, even when you're often 5 or 6 hours ahead of the main bulk of players like us Europeans are! :tonberry:

I'd enjoy a long term friend/drinking buddy. It's great forming a deep connection to another character that's not specifically romantic or family related. I'm in the UK so it would probably only work if you are able to come online in the early evening though! I think like up until 8pm or 9pm for you.
