I.....think I'm going to be taking a break from rp and the site for a while. Today was the first day ever I truly regretted coming to the Balmung server from my old non-rp server, all because cause I disagreed with people and expressed my opinion. And I am not naming names because I don't do that, but yeah it's primarily because someone I considered a friend sent me that post on skype. In my post I never named one person or FC....it was a general statement to everyone. So if I'm the idiot for expressing my thoughts, I'll be so on my own. :cry:

By the way, to the person who decided to launch a huge curse laden rant to my skype because of my post, thank you for spoiling my day. I truly appreciate the class and friendship show to me there. Makes me super appreciative I joined this community. :frustrated:

Now this is directly in reply to that housing thread where people are allowed to evnt and just be mean with personal shots via other social media (yes this already happened to me as a result of my opionion posted there). I made this thread for folks who actually are happy and would like to share what they are happy with in the game. Me: My friends.

I'm sorry people are pissed off andI do feel badly for those who wanted a personal house. And I'm happy for those that got one. But for the love of all that is good in the world would everyone stop bitching about it? Seriously. People quitting and complaining all morning. Some people who live in a huge FC home or have a nice room, complaining. Complaining. Complaining. Are they not as advertised? Yeah. But okay....if this is the worst lie you've ever been through or told, you are winning as far as I am concerned. There is so much more to the game than a home. Seriously. Time with your friends, tackling dungeons, rp'ing (I thought that's what we did anyway), crafting, etc. To pin so much emotion on a house? To get so angry? So hurt? It.....it defies logic. And if this little (and yes in the grand scheme it is a little issue) matter is what breaks you from the game, or one man's letter from months ago....well then maybe you need a new hobby, or a new game. I will never be able to afford a home. Not a personal one nor a fake FC home called a personal one either. But I still enjoy the game. I find other things to entertain myself and not pin it all on one upcoming patch item. So please.....stop all the complaining about housing. The arguments have been made, we have all heard your voices.....take to official forums now and express your concerns so you can try and get it fixed. Otherwise it'd be nice to see the site go back to normal rather than rant.org all day. :dodgy:

I can understand that aspect but again don't we always advocate that everyone is simply a supporting character in another person's story? If I believe the time is natural for Ruru, Melodia or Krell to pass away at any point in their story, then it should not have to be cleared by anyone other than myself. And I'm not trying to pick a fight. I am just saying, principle-wise, I have a great deal of heartburn in moving my character forward and having to get clearance from others for how that happens. Anything in the game can be jarring. Ruru is an alcoholic. That should be jarring to others especially those close to him. But people live with it and roll with with it. I know death is heavier but can actually add a nuanced layer of development to those around in the aftermath. And as for forcing rp....I hear this come up a great deal but aren't we always forcing our rp onto others? Walkups and such are essentially just that. Forcing our rp onto others. #justsayin *hides from backlash and throws out cookies for everyone to pacify them*

I have to say I disagree with this to a point. I'm not sure why I would need approval if I wanted my character to die permanently. Is it not my character, and not the community character? I am not trying to be rude or flippant....I am simply asking for clarity sake. For example, Ruru is close friends with Zhavi in game but I certainly wouldn't need her permission to have Ruru die. She would be sad, yes, and rp would be altered to adjust, but again, just as irl, characters cope and adjust. I think asking for permission....it just doesn't sit right with me. I know others will disagree with me, but if at some point I were planning for Ruru to pass on, I wouldn't ask for permission. I wouldn't get an okay from the outside. I would certainly communicate my intentions, but would not alter them just because others maybe feel sad. I get that....but it's the natural reaction just as any death of a friend or loved one would be.

I actually considered having Ruru die recently, a tragic twist to his story, most likely at the hands of his brother, but reconsidered. It's just not his time yet. However I am likely to have one of my three die permanently and that's a difficult call. But as for main....yeah for a week or two I was actually writing up a scenario wherein Ruru would have been dead for good. But the cruel player in me knows he still has some ways farther to fall down that abyss before I could even consider ending his life. :evil:

Oh I should clarify! No need for the person to be an enemy. Like Kage and Ruru...I wouldnt consider them enemies by any stretch. I just felt it would be ironic if that happened.

As I am considering currently or in the near future eliminating one of my main three characters in a permanent manner, it got me thinking. If I were were killed ICly in a forever type sense, who would do it? The how would be just a what if in a way, but if your character were killed (this is just for fun, no canon stuff or anything....just an interesting question maybe) by another player character, who would it be? and no need to overthink things. Maybe you just think it would be epic to have a final battle with Warren or Crisiet. Or maybe getting stalked by Kiht through the woods would be cool. Just something for fun is all. I have only two since Melodia is still new. Ruru: I think for a bit of awesome irony, since he headed down a very dark path, if Kage were the one to put him down, I could live with that. Krell: Only one or two and it's a coin toss, but that honor goes to Coatleque. she's got more than one reason to want to end him anyway.
