So an example would be like: rolz1: 1D20 #attack ((output)) Fighter 1: 1D20 => 19 #attack Fighter 1> /em takes a heavy fist and swings at Fighter 2 (19) rolz1: 1D20 #defense ((output)) Fighter 2: 1D20 => 15 #defense Fighter 2> /em is unable to dodge the attack and is punched in the gut (15). Some of us will chain some defense and attack together into a bigger paragraph too. When I do this, I like to designate them like (Atk:19, Def:15) or so. I may need to see it in full action to fully understand. I do get the concept but I am one of those needs to see it live to really get the full grasp of it. Thank you and Warren for helping me. I need Melodia to meet new people. This is designed to be a fun thread to get her out a bit. Melodia sighed deeply, a bit nervous as she stepped onto the airship, a new experience for her. The port at Limsa had been bustling and she was dressed in her somewhat dressy blue attire, trying to shed the look of the Yellowjacket for just a day. She was taking the day off and wanted to enjoy herself. The weather was pleasant and the gate officials had been kind as she had gotten her pass. Standing at the rail she took another deep breath. Today looked to be full of new experiences. The airship was one. The other was going to be stepping foot into Ul'dah.

I've used weather in rp. Once I did an rp with Ruru and his friend Suri and was a heartbreaking scene with the rains and lightning amplifying the mood well. Made a sad scene bring tears to my eyes and was factored into the actual rp.

Melodia watched Rhysa fix her sleeve and when asked about the reason, she sighed. "Takin' 'er down may be a bit strong.....I know me limits. Th' damn city wouldn' let me anyway. It's like everyone here thrives on the dirty side o' it. Hells even I been caught up in it." She took a breath. "I'm jus' lookin' to....make some elbow room with 'er, if ye catch me drift. Let 'er know she can't jus' run amok like she owns th' damn place." She pulled a small coin pouch and tossed it up lightly and caught it again. "An' any help gettin' me a way t' make tha' room would be appreciated."

Melodia let go, understanding she had put herself in a tough spot with this woman and needing more information she was not about to cont8inue down a path sending that potential information into the darkness. The weapon under her sleeve told Melodia that this was no simple wanderer....no common tourist just taking a stroll. As she took a step back, her stern look softened and she crouched slooking up at the woman with a sigh. "I'm sorry....look I don' wan' t' fight with ye. If I look desparate it's because I feel like I'm drawin' a blank every time I deal with anyone in th' city. It frustrates me....makes me a wee bit likely t' handle things different than I ought to." She bowed slightly and tilted her head a bit with a relenting sigh. "I'll no' try t' stop ye. If ye wan' t' talk, ye can. If no', th' best I c'n offer ye is a bit o' coin. If none o' tha' interests ye, ye c'n be on yer way."

Why can't she use this? It's illegal to pay a person to help you find a date/love? This particular side of Grace's operation is no different than eharmony, match.com and whatever else is out there. She tries to find compatible people to hook up and go on dates... And maybe live a happy life together should it all work out. Short of any personal opinions about people dating or getting help with dating, I don't see why Melodia couldn't use this service. Now, the whore ring is an understandable difference... Even though the backstory proves that to be legal as well.... TL;dr: stop making excuses and get on and RP with us! Haha my meaning was, I think since she has this want to dig up dirt on Andy, it would be against her nature to then sit down and use her services even legal ones.

And so it happened. Melodia was to be my alt, a part time character for me to have fun with as a Yellowjacket. Ruru was to be my main. But I've grown to love playing as Melodia and I mean with rp and just the game in general. She has more money, more jobs leveled and I enjoy playing more and more as warrior tank with her. Doesn't mean I'm not sad for moving Ruru to the bench. He's just in such a narrow niche rp setting (with his buddy still away) that it's hard to play as him. And so I've grown more comfortable playing as Melodia. Anyone else have this happen? Or did I just do a major RP faux pas?

My Melodia needs this the most and yet she can't use this ICly. *heads to the docks to be alone*

I have not had to blacklist for IC rp reasons. I'm not sure I would. But! I have blacklisted three players in my time. One was a stranger who wanted to ERP. I said no, so she started harassing me and my friends, accusing me of all sorts of things. She even made an alt to kind of stalk me around (fun...?) and harass me still. I had to report to the GM and discuss it with them. She was blacklisted. Two and three were friends of mine who I found out were bullying another very good friend of mine to the point where she was thinking of quitting the game. I confronted both and they began to swear and yell at me like I was the bad person, lots of threats and cruel comments (from people I'd thought of as friends the day before) and decided blacklisting was the proper way. If someone is a jerk OOCly I will blacklist. I don't pay money to waste my time dealing with mean people. Jerk=blacklist. Period.

Speaking from Melodia's perspective, I would say it has a fairly big role. She's a bit promiscuous ICly and though she wants to settle down she enjoys being a sexually active single woman. She's never had the time to enjoy being with someone when she was a teen and is in a way, free for the first time and enjoys that. That said, she's also highly against prostitution as she views it akin to a mild form of slavery. So for her view sex is a very blurred but acceptable line so far as it's between consenting adults. Yeah she's a bit of a hypocrite.
