I don't think they can actually communicate with cloud and wave kin -- I think they just use clicks similar to them : "the Geneq employ a complex system of whistles and clicks which resemble the cloud- and wavekin of the steppe." Honestly a lot of the tribe tidbits make me think of myths and tidbits from nomadic cultures around the globe. This one makes me think of the !Kung (who are a San people) - prolly part of why I love it so much. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c246fZ-7z1w Looks like I derped a word, fixed it!

Currently working on a lesser tribe that we've named the Xura (pronounced; Zur-haa)! Xura - "To Gather" in Mongolian Led by the enigmatic Kroin of the Dotharl, the Xura tribe has currently spanned over three generations. Their strange leader claims to have been present since the beginning (yet there is no proof to support this) and as such is rumoured to be hundreds of years old - a whimsical trait of Kroin is his assignment of titles to his tribe, despite his birth tribe’s bloodthirsty nature. Seeking the strongest of warriors, Kroin travelled far to gather Elders from the Tumet tribe - renowned for their tenth summer ritual of a survival trial and their proud traditions. Taking effort to ensure the future of his new dynasty, Kroin sought out Elders from the Geneq tribe - initially as he found their ability to communicate in a similar manner to cloud and wave kin somewhat adorable, but also respecting the knowledge and patience it must have taken to perfect this art. The final step was for safety, Kroin and his council of Elders travelled to seek the Kagon tribe - in particular two of their Sages (skilled practitioners of forbidden magicks) who left their superstitions of evil sun goddesses behind them. Au Ra, Xaela tribal alliance and enemies?
Avalt Laguz replied to industrythirteen's topic in RP Discussion
Myself and a few others in our FC are planning a tribe of sorts. Although we haven't plotted out too many details yet (more lore please!), I'd definitely be interested in some potential ally/enemy tribes. Same here! Got a small 4 person group of a larger tribe in the works for when H/W drops and even in the time leading up to it! PM for details -

He acted exactly as you'd expect for someone who looks like this. Though, we should clarify. Dark Knight isn't Batman. Dark Knight is the Punisher. "May your next life be bathed in blessed light" -Novalmauge -

Having said that, regarding Machinist the Ishgardians don't seem to be above replicating already existing technology. Perhaps they took the bare bones from Sharlayan Astromancy to come up with their own Astrologians who live down at the Observatorium? -

Reasoning for irregular race/nationality combinations
Avalt Laguz replied to Seriphyn's topic in RP Discussion
Damn Kale and your argument starting threads! Just kidding I love you really, thanks for making my morning interesting. -
There was recently a post on the official XIV forums about what kind of flying mounts that other players would like to see. While I found the thread interesting, I would assume that RPers would be using these mounts in their RP adventures, and may have some different ideas for what they would like to take to the skies with! Here are a few I have suggested when this topic has come up in FC/LS chat! Mist Dragon (FF IV) While it appears rather large in previous FF games, the size of it could be reduced by only having it's back, wings and neck/head visible and having the rest shrouded in mist (or clouds!). Or it just being smaller in general. Zu (Several appearances) http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140425002919/finalfantasy/images/thumb/0/05/Amano_Zuu.jpg/300px-Amano_Zuu.jpg[/img] The Zu made a recent appearance as the second boss of Pharos Sirius, however it has made appearances as far back as Final Fantasy IV. These large winged birds could be pretty sweet as single rider, or possibly dual rider transport! Helldiver (FF III) I personally prefer the concept art to how they were shown in FF3, these creatures appear to have two feet, and along with the wings they also have two clawed hands. Elvoret (FF VIII) http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120506200050/finalfantasy/images/thumb/4/4f/FF8_Elvoret.png/250px-FF8_Elvoret.png[/img] This is a slight departure from the bird/dragons, Elvoret appeared as a boss at the top of the communication tower in Dollet. While it has a rather demonic appearance, a rider could sit between his wings, or be held in the creature's arms. Watch for the claws! Gizmaluke (FF IX) http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130626191833/finalfantasy/images/thumb/2/24/Gizamaluke-ffix-battle.png/270px-Gizamaluke-ffix-battle.png[/img] I saw this one was assumed to be the mysterious flying mount shown in the Benchmark preview with Bismarck breaching the clouds. Gizmaluke looked similar and used it's wings to attack in FF9. Silver Dragon (FF IX) http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130625011036/finalfantasy/images/thumb/f/f5/Silver_Dragon-FFIX.PNG/200px-Silver_Dragon-FFIX.PNG[/img] Kuja's transport of choice in FF9, to my memory it is able to stand on all fours and could likely be used on the ground as well as in the air. There must be hundreds of possibilities that we could see in Heavensward, I'm personally hoping the Ahriman can be used to fly higher! No suggestions are silly, I'm just excited to see what people are hoping for

Shiva Extreme (managed this today!:moogle:Next step; Diamond Grimoire) T6-9 - I just can't seem to get myself motivated to get through, the healer gear is so pretty but I find myself attempting T6 and failing horribly. I make my share of mistakes but I'm getting myself closer slowly but surely! I'd like to try the FCoB but I just don't see it happening, I love raiding but the ones that have real butt-clench moments make me feel awful when I make a mistake! Ajudicator's Gavel/Law of Levin - Reeeeally want one or both of these for glamour/RP!

My Au'Ra (currently a miqo'te!) I've kinda kept her off the radar RP wise. I had the thought to have her be traveling Eorzea using a glamour like the Heretics in Coerthas used to pass among the Inquisitors unnoticed - however I hit a snag with this plan. I saw quite a few others had the same idea which was pretty cool, considering the magicks are out there and part of the game already - but, for people who claimed to be trying to hide their appearance, I saw quite a few of these scenes; RPer#1 "I've come to Eorzea from far away, I am what is known as an Au'Ra" RPer#2 "OMG me too!" Rant on (WHY BE IN HIDING IF YOU'RE TELLING THE ENTIRE QUICKSAND Rant off So, that being said - when 3.0 drops, then it'll begin Astrologian!

While I'd prefer the Cloud/Zack SOLDIER uniform, I'm more than happy with the AC Wolf getup. I highly doubt using it as an IC getup, but I love the nods to previous FF characters! Next; Aerith outfit/Beatrix armor or Lulu dress for the ladies please! And of course something for the guys -
Avalt is a peace-loving hippy person, and so he isn't interested in fighting! However, when backed into a corner he'll bare his teeth and try to fight his way out! vabnZ9-ex7o
