I hope this is the right place to post this but... Are there any libraries in Eorzea? Or, specifically, in the three city-states? I think a library would be a great RP location for people, but I don't actually know if there are any. Dunno, just a thought. If there isn't one canonically, does anyone "have" or "run" a library that their character is the "librarian" of? If no one already "runs" a library IC, would anyone be interested in one if I set it up somehow (either in my FC house or otherwise)?

I use Lightroom (which is like all the photoediting from photoshop in a separate program) for adjustment and filters and then Gimp for by-hand touch ups. =]

Florence + The Machine has such a unique sound to me, I have a pretty hard time finding anything similar that has the same sort of concepts. And the vid you posted...I didn't expect to like the song for some reason, but I actually did. Nice.

If anyone sees harassing someone to the point of being blacklisted or blocked on some website/game as "winning", they are at a level of pathetic that I can't comprehend. That's harsh, broseph. I mean, I'd try to explain the circumstances surrounding my involvement in that sort of thing, but it's my experience that first impressions are usually permanent so... eh, it's not the first time somebody's held the opinion that I was pathetic. So I guess we'll just roll with that. No no, I am not saying that you are pathetic. I am saying people who intentionally harass others, and are then blacklisted and think highly of themselves for it, are pathetic. So unless you're running around purposefully getting blacklisted for harassment, or enjoying getting blacklisted for harassment, it doesn't apply to you. ... I see. I'm sorry, frontlines has me all riled up. I'm trying to grind to rank 40 and... it's been a long day. I hate Gridania so much right now... I blacklist gil spammers so that I can have the relief of not hearing them right then, haha. Don't care if they get deleted, I'll then clean them off my blacklist. And I haven't seen a lot of gil spammers on Balmung, but on my other server (Lamia), the spam is so bad I have to clear out my blacklist of characters that aren't even deleted yet just to put more in. They are definitely not deleted within hours on the lower-population servers. I played there for 9 months without half of my 200+ blacklisted gil spammers being deleted. I don't think blacklisting is "letting someone win" because the fact that you are moving on with your life and not letting them be relevant to you is what's important. It's not about winning, it's about what's best for you to continue playing by your own terms. I could give two shits if they think they've "won" something by me blacklisting them. If they believe that, then there are a lot more personal issues going on in their life than their short-lived harassment of me. When I first moved out with my boyfriend (now fiance), my parents bought us a lot of cheap stuff to help us get by. I have always been lucky to have pretty thoughtful parents (usually, ahaha). But the first thing we bought was.......y'know I'm really not sure. After what they gave us, other than food, we didn't buy much because we were both working shit minimum wage jobs. The first thing we bought was probably a couch, now that I think on it. A couch that no longer exists haha. We even went our first two (or three?) years without internet, much to my disdain at first but gradually I got used to it.

My overall stance on sexuality is that it is multifaceted, and each facet deserves equal respect, so long as your "brand" or "type" of sexuality is not harmful to another. I also believe that sexuality (and gender constructs, but that's another conversation) can be fluid or rigid, depending on the person. Do I think sex is necessary for every RP'd lifestyle? Nope. Do I think that it has a real, valid place in RP? Yep! We all have reasons and rationales for why we do what we do, in all of life and in our sexual lives. Sexuality does shape my characters and the type of RP that they are engaged in, and is not something I'm shy about discussing or working into a plot. As for my character breakdown... Queen is asexual heteroromantic. She is engaged to a Miqo'te man that she has known since childhood, who grew up alongside her in their homeland. She does not necessarily frown on sex, but it is not really a motivation she displays and she doesn't really want to know about the sexual relationships of others, unless it is pertinent/useful information to her goals. She can be very affectionate and loving, but not so much publicly (though it's difficult for her to keep up appearances sometimes with how openly affectionate her fiance is, aha.) She's a very private person for most things. Miounne is bisexual. She is attracted to both men and women, and has no qualms expressing this through flirting or sexual promiscuity. She views sex with a pretty open mind and has next-to-no shame in regards to her own sexual history; she believes that it's her life to live, and if sex is what she wants, then why shouldn't she get it? Between the sheets, Mio is pretty dominant but it really depends on the partner she's with. She tends to seek partners who would "worship her body" in the process, though she's not unfamiliar with quickies or one-night trysts. Sex is a big part of romantic relationships to her, believing that the sexual attraction is the first instinctual understanding of the other and a good indicator of whether a life together would work out. Although she is so open about sex, she takes her official relationships seriously and probably wouldn't consider juggling multiple long-term relationships (but this might depend on the level of alcohol and her ego). Miounne is currently in a semi-official relationship; she has been going on with her usual flirting and promiscuity but as far as romantic-ish sex has been coming back to the same guy... no word on whether this will become a serious romantic/monogamous relationship, as we haven't RP'd that far into it yet.

Also this statement. No need to put people down for their choice in wardrobe and try to link that to their sexuality and their value.

I would say "When in Rome" is a good way to tell if your wardrobe is appropriate. You're right in saying that it's wrong of us to change the sensibilities of others in THEIR home, which means that if you are in a place other than your tribal land, you should expect to restrict yourself to the sensibilities of the places you are visiting. If I were to go to another country, I would not expect them to change their dress to suit me. But I would understand if they wanted me to change my dress to suit their customs/law, because I am the visitor, not the local. That's mostly a personal opinion but that's what I think on the matter.

Just looked and I have one about the RP for Queen & Titor, but nothing about commissions. =O It must have been eaten up.

Jael'li, I think that you have a really neat idea here! An "Order" as someone suggested could be cool, with a school that trains monks/rogues in the art of understanding the Twelve and nature perhaps? If you have ideas to get an idea like that off the ground, contact me. =3

I'm just like you. Every game my wife and I play together, we RP some heavy romance and get married and live happily ever after. Our characters just underwent the Ceremony of Mara in Elder Scrolls Online. They eloped. She's a stuffy Altmer, he's a scruffy Bosmer. They will make many merbabies forever. If she starts playing FFXIV, I can only imagine she'll make the kind of Roegadyn girl who will tame Dogberry, and keep him on a very short leash. Hehehehe, I really like that. x3 My fiance and I have never played any games together... FFXIV is our first MMO. =O Maybe one day we will have a history of games/stories like you two~!

I will likely use it with my fiance, for our characters Queen and Rahdias are engaged (just like we are). I know, queue the eye-rolling and "ugh"s. I know, we're derp like that.
