  1. I'm not really finished with Maemaere yet, so no need to go to her page since her history isn't up yet. I can fill in the blanks with her later depending on whether or not you want a lalafell contact. lol As for Dav... Yeah he's not the best option when taken at face value, but if things can be justified well enough, I think we could make something work. Just all depends on what kind of connections you're seeking. Really though, I'm on Yune the most these days, and have yet to figure out just how active I'll be with chars like Mae, Raramia and Rui. I love them all to death (especially Rui as she was the first char I made in ARR over on Midgardsormr), but at this point, I don't think they have as much going for them in terms of potential with others when compared to Yune and Davoren (plus it really is a pain trying to raise a THM in duty finder...). We'll discuss it later on when I see you. >^.^<
  2. I'd love to offer up one of my chars as a potential connection, but... I'm not sure how most of them would be able to fit considering what you have in your bio. lol You're free to take a look if you like, but warning, lots of text... Davoren and Maemaere are my current chars stationed in Ul'dah, but Yune goes there often enough. The others... not so much. If anything though, send a friend request my way if you see any of them online. I'm usually online during the hours you mentioned, at least until around 5am or so CST, so if you don't have anyone else on and just want to chat to relieve the loneliness, I'm game.
  3. I'll admit that as a general newbie, and a shy one at that, it has been a little daunting to get involved in RP since I moved to this server. I have met some fantastic people at random though, so it hasn't all been a bust. That said, while it may seem "monotonous" as mentioned earlier, I have appreciated the simple tavern nights at FC houses. I have only been able to attend a few at this point due to scheduling and internet issues, but despite having difficulty with putting myself out there in the social sense, it has given me the opportunity to be seen by others so that I may be recognized in the future, and has opened the door to a few IC acquaintances that may or may not pan out to anything in the future, but such is life. Without the open house nights, however, I do agree that it's been difficult to really immerse myself into the game entirely save for the random street RP that usually ends with a guy asking me if I have a boyfriend... I've been told that many RPers these days take their RP to their FC houses now, which is a real shame as I feel like I miss out on many interesting people. But, as was mentioned earlier, like-minded people tend to fall together in cliques, which I can completely understand and sympathize with. It just makes a newbie's job a little more difficult in the way of making an impression as I've felt like most people only want to socialize with people they know, and I'm kind of against being "aggressive" in making others notice me. But I'll continue my search for more experiences, whether inside or out of a tavern setting. It's a wide world and there's much to be seen/discovered since they aren't promoted by advertisements. >^.^<
  4. My Yune is from Limsa Lominsa, and though she tends to travel a lot these days to her recently discovered wanderlust, she always returns home as often as she can. She's a Miqo raised by lalas, so she's not entirely like your traditional kitty due to her upbringing, but she's always looking to make more friends. >^.^< My other Limsa girl Rui is, sadly, a Hyur, but she's a sweetheart if you can get past her insanity, and she's mute too, so... Maybe the lack of man-speak might make it easier to connect? lol I also have a few others if you ever have a mind to be in any other nation for awhile and your char warms up to non-Miqo, so if you find yourself in those parts and would like to meet up, just give me a shout.
  5. Yay, another shorty lalafell! >^.^< You had me at D&D. In any case, welcome to the forum and to the game. I haven't been on Balmung too long myself, but I've met some pretty nice people so far. Personally, I was amazed at the number of random strangers that would just approach me IC and start talking. As far as I knew in games, that was completely unheard of (I always found myself entirely solo in MMOs). Looking forward to seeing you sometime in the game. I have a lala myself, but I'm on her rarely these days since I feel rather discouraged at how hard it is for a THM to queue up in DF alone... But! If you ever need someone to run some low level dungeons with you, let me know! I'm not very far in the main story at all, even with my main character, and I love running the lower level stuff. >^.^<
  6. Mention of Nald'thal makes me think that my Davoren would be interested in all of this, as he looks into whatever he can of said deity considering his backstory. The concept of corpses infused with souls of the dead also hits VERY close to home, so I'll consider some manner of participation in this event considering the themes that have been mentioned. >^.^
  7. I like big boats and I cannot lie. And... *looks closer* apparently likes to tie people up too. X_x Raramia says "Hello~".
  8. Nothing sexy, but Yune can't really do "sexy" anyway.
  9. My main character, Yune, is a Keeper Miqo who was raised by lalafell parents but possesses a deep curiosity of traditional Miqo'te society and those who come from it, as she wants to find some insight about the culture her real family might have come from. She may not be exactly what you were advertising for, but perhaps it might make for some interesting interactions if they ever became acquainted?
  10. I was considering Mysterium myself for my lalafell THM that I made recently once I got her up in level, but it led me to wondering if it was smart to dedicate an alt to an FC before I had even figured out what I wanted for the character that I refer to as my main... How do you guys handle FCs/LSs and alts? Do you prefer to only join one with your main character and keep your other alts pretty FC-free? Or do you usually put each of your characters towards one group so that you aren't all spread out? I've been contemplating all of this for awhile and haven't really figured out what would be the best route to take, so any opinions would be welcome. >^.^<
  11. Hello and welcome! As stated before me, if you're on Balmung and ever see me on as any of my chars feel free to give me a shout! I'm also still fairly early in the games content if you ever need an extra person for a dungeon sometime. ;D I hope you enjoy the game and the RP to be found here. Everyone is really nice and helpful and I'm sure you'll find IC/OOC friends in no time. Hope to see you around sometime. >^.^<
  12. Ooh new car smell. ;D Welcome to the forums and to the game! If you ever see any of my ragtag bunch running around anywhere *points to the absurd list of alts in my sig*, feel free to send me a /tell or a friend request! I'm always looking for new friends and people to talk to, whether it's friendly OOC conversation or those random little IC chats that inevitably give you and others insight on your character. Looking forward to meeting you sometime. >^.^<
  13. I'm really really hoping to make it to this upcoming one! I hope my internet will finally allow it. I will do my best to appear, most likely with Yune, as she needs to meet more people. Can't wait to see you there. ;D
  14. I have a couple characters that linger around Ul'dah now and then, so if you see any of them *points at names in sig* feel free to send me a Friend Request! Some of them I'm still getting started with and getting direction RP wise with who they are exactly, but for the most part I know enough if you ever need an RP partner during some downtime. Also, if you need someone for low level dungeons and I happen to be online, go ahead and give me a shout! I'm getting my characters through them as well and I know how frustrating Duty Finder can be at times when you're going it alone and have to wait on others. Hope to see you around sometime! >^.^<
  15. It's not sexy, but managed to dig it up in my folder. Though...if we're wanting some Roe hotness... >_>
  16. And the printing presses overload with too much hotness and explode...
  17. I've been wanting to make this guy for the better part of a year but always figured it would only get in the way of leveling (Me? Level? Yeah right!). Since I now have a bunch of new alts anyway (yes, I'm an avid altoholic...), I figured what the hell. Meet Davoren. It's unfortunate that my lazy progression habits will hinder his ambitions for such splendor and glory as depicted in this screenie, but... I might get him there, eventually. >_>;;
  18. I may have a character or two who could offer you another connection if you're still looking. Their bios are still pretty incomplete as I fill them in slowly over time, but with what is currently there, you may be able to see some parallels to take advantage of. My elezen Raramia could be a standard acquaintance at the very least, as she took up residence in Gridania a few years before the Calamity and married an archer of the Twin Adder, and helped in tending to the wounded of that battle. Her history as a scholar's apprentice from Sharlayan and early studies of aether may also give them a measure of affinity? Rui is my Midlander who has a curious background, and I've been considering how to fully detail her particular..."condition" and how it may inevitably relate to aether as well, so perhaps the both of us could come up with something on that front that would give your character something to study and would allow me to develop her personal story a little further, since many things are kind of up in the air right now. And lastly, I recently made a lalafell THM, Maere who bears a similar backstory after reading yours. Nothing nearly as elaborate and unique, but she was, for lack of a better word, "void-touched" in the recent past during an encounter with a masked man who summoned a creature from the Void. In an effort to protect her twin sister, she exposed herself to an attack and the incident altered her in ways I am still working out. She was born a natural healer and had great potential for conjury, but that event left her less "pure" than before and she even bears a strange mark upon her face from her affliction. Because of the change this caused that seemed to strip the "light" right out of her, she was cast out of the Conjurer's Guild and became outcast. No longer being accepted in Gridania, she left and eventually found herself in Ul'dah to "embrace darkness" in the Thaumaturges Guild. Which isn't to say she is evil, she simply doesn't know where else to go. Still working on many many details, and she is freshly made as well so... In any case, if any of these strike your fancy, go ahead and drop me a PM. >^.^<
  19. Ahh, was this the face that launched a thousand ships... Absolutely gorgeous.
  20. I've been wanting a two-seater mount since I first got into this game. lol And now its sitting there right in front of me and... I have to recruit a completely new person into the game to get it...? TT_TT I do wonder about it though because in the details it says something about the person being recruited making a Squenix account "if they haven't done so already" or some such. Can this be taken to mean that someone with an existing account can be recruited? I'ma be so jealous when I see you guys running around with your chocobos now. Well, even more jealous, considering I always feel envy when I see the Fat Chocobo waddling around, along with you lalas that have the mini lion or whatever it is. lol
  21. I'll go ahead and follow Tiergan's example and post a little of my current characters here so no one has to go read their tl'dr profiles on the wiki. If you feel brave though and have a lot of time to spare, by all means, read away. Sadly, each of these characters are still basically starting out on this server and aren't really of a decent level to do much with in higher level activities. If you ever see me online as any of these chars, go ahead and send a friend request my way. Yune Tabrisviel: A Keeper Miqo'te raised by a Lalafell family in the La Noscean countryside, Yune has a rather traumatic past that her mind has locked away to prevent remembrance but because of this, her mind has been somewhat reset in time, and though she is physically a twenty-four year old woman, she behaves with the mentality of someone noticeably younger. A current pupil in the guild of Arcanists in Limsa Lominsa, she has been sent away to further her studies as the path of an Arcanist doesn't feel quite right for her. Her journey began in Gridania to study Conjury, but even that has yet to feel fitting. She is a very thoughtful and kind individual who harbors many apprehensions, and is plagued by the curiosity of her true origins and family, as growing up the Miqo'te child of Lalafell parents wasn't exactly "natural" in the eyes of many. She is mostly oblivious to Miqo'te traditions, behaviors, and knowledge in general. One might see her sitting alone in various places writing in a journal and relatively oblivious to her surroundings, though she has taken up weaving and cooking and can be found in those respective guilds as well when she is not battling with uncertainty to appease her growing wanderlust. Rui Valiir: Once a rather skilled swordswoman and mercenary, Rui is what some might call a "living casualty of the Calamity", as she has wandered the roads of madness for a good portion of the last six years. No one knows what broke her mind, and no one asks, not that she could tell anyone the truth anyway as she cannot speak. She has lived in Limsa Lominsa for the past year and a half, slowly healing from her physical and mental injuries from the past with fishing as her main source of "therapy". She loves this activity above all other things despite the fact that it is one that requires much patience, and her avid wanderlust has her on the move constantly. There are times when the woman comes out, her eyes clear and the madness relatively out of sight, but she suffers from mood swings caused by triggers most people would find rather random. Once you get to know her, such triggers become well known, and handling the wayward woman becomes much simpler. But whether friend or stranger, Rui is very kind and honest with her intentions, showing no measure of shyness or caution unless something has provoked a negative reaction from her fragile mind. Rui can be found wandering all over, going from one fishing spot to the next without a thought or care about those she could be leaving behind to worry. But feelings plague her in quiet moments; an urge to feel the weight of a sword in her hand while bearing the weight of a shield with the other. She was made to be a warrior, a defender, and such a calling has never left her. Raramia Luelin: Sharlayan born and now a resident of Gridania, Raramia is the quiet and contemplative sort that has the tendency to think long and hard about something before acting. Having spent much of her earlier years as a healer and seeker of knowledge who traveled constantly for such endeavors, she now lives out her days quietly without any purpose or direction. She had once the pleasure of being a loving wife to a Gridanian archer, but was left a widow after the events at Carteneau when he, like many others, did not come home alive. She continues to practice minor conjury here and there when needed, as communing with nature tends to take her away from her lonely reality, but she has been spending her time around the Archer's Guild as of late, idly taking up the bow as if contemplating the benefits of such a path, and if it may breathe life into her anew by means of setting her closer to her departed husband and the teachings he had left behind. Many can describe her as the "mother hen" sort, the kind of woman who takes care of those she considers family, always watching over them and doing whatever she can to ensure their happiness in life.
  22. There I set it up Open RP I would like to join in as well *glares at the ONE linkshell in my list* My hours are late though, so I hope you will be around for an invite to this around midnight or so CST? My lame internet has finally hit the data cap so I can only play during the free data zone, which is around 11/midnight-5am CST... I hope to see you guys! This game is very lonely despite how obscenely populated it is. o_o
  23. I would love to make some new connections as well! I know I haven't been able to attend your FC events on Thursdays yet, but I would still love an opportunity to meet you sometime. I'm not sure quite yet how my characters could potentially fit in with yours, but there are always creative paths everywhere to take, so I'll get to thinking on it. I do have an Elezen *points to siggy* who is relatively open to pretty much anything since I've yet to really buckle down and figure out what I want to do with her, as well as a lala THM that I just made last night that I have a few thoughts for, but it's all in the very early stages of creation. Let me know if anything strikes your fancy. >^.^<
  24. Aww I am so under-leveled. T_T This sounds like a really fun event though, I hope it is a smashing success!
  25. I don't know about RP in other servers, but I've noticed that Balmung and Gilgamesh DO in fact open up, but you have to wait for the wee hours of the morning to actually get in. I'm in CST and I usually see the servers open (this is during the work week) at anywhere between 3am-7am. On the weekends, however, I don't think I've ever seen Balmung open. Keep in mind though that the Restriction list for character creation will never reflect this. You kind of have to monitor it with the character creation screen going like you're trying to get it onto the server and just refresh around those hours if you can manage to be up for it.
