"Ugh I need to update my character's Wiki"
Zhavi replied to Berrod Armstrong's topic in RP Discussion
Well, I think they're useful, especially for me (I feel bad for not having any up for Zhi, but laziness). Zhi is the type who goes around looking for rumors, and pays for information that's not necessarily easy to get hold of. So those rumors when applicable (obviously if they're being spoken in Ul'dah it would take quite a bit of digging and speaking to the right people for her to get hold of them) I have used them as part of her knowledge base. So it's more than just ego, it's good for rp! -
Zhi's grin was instinctual, and followed quickly by a quiet grunt of pain. She let her face fall back into a nothing expression, newer and sharper throbbing taking her mind away from any stubbornness she might have been inclined to hold. "New smokes?" Her voice was decidedly hopeful.
-
Zhi tipped her head to the side. Winced. Watched Jager's reflection. "Lalataru has a. . .hirelin'. So I have t'keep a room as Joz. Th' hirelin' -- big roe -- comes . . . t' give her food an' some teachin'." She stopped, swallowed, waited out the pain. "Joz is gettin' chased, an' she needs t'be flushed out . . . so Lalataru is the only option she's got left. Which means . . . her room needs tossin'. Ain't much there."
-
Zhi didn't do a thorough job with her face. A kid running scared? Yeah. It'd be messy. "I need ye t' . . . toss Joz's room."
-
The cloth hit Zhi in the face, and she let go of Jager's wrist. The cloth dropped to her lap. She watched him. For once, she didn't have anything else to say. Scratch that: she didn't have anything she wanted to say. She got off the bed instead, limped to the mirror, and started wiping. "I owe ye one," she said, stiff and uncomfortable. "But I need another favor."
-
Zhi looked down, mouth twisting. "I know 'em," she said, some stubbornness clouding up her tone, "I seen 'em often enough. But I don't know alla 'em. I know th'names o' nine, see some words an' know what they mean. But I don't know how t' read, an' that's truth."
-
Zhi closed her eye for a long moment. She went still. Then she reached up, took hold of the wrist of the hand that held her jaw. "Yeah," she said, "I did." She opened her eye, and stared up at him hard. "Don't feck. . .me take. Nothin' fancy." Her words couldn't carry the bite she'd intended to put in them, so she stared at him, stubborn as any cat. She didn't deign reply to his last question. She wanted to make sure he understood. Dangerous new ground between them. Untread. Untested.

Continuation of The Long Road Ahead and Play Hard, Deal Harder. The Heavy Handers were not a small gang. They held significant territory shoreside, from which they smuggled in drugs and dealt drugs in equal measures. They had their alliances, some widely known and some less than advertised. They did not have any sort of controlling stake in the fate of Limsa Lominsa's criminal element, themselves, but they did control a significant portion of drugs. Few would mess with them carelessly. Zhi had been a busy lass the past few days. She'd investigated the supply lines of one Captain Caereyn Doendragasyn in order to see who had misappropriated his goods. She'd appropriated one Rurutani -- renaming him in the process, and calling him Flit (short for flittermouse) in her mockingly affectionate way -- for her own purposes and to the Cap'n's benefit. He'd been hired into the Heavy Handers as a base patrol guard She'd found answers, and more questions. Now they went to settle some things. She'd scoped out Flit's assignment on the docks, knew that he was to be on a wandering patrol between three small, closely-built warehouses. These, the Handers owned under a double alias (and what that pretty piece of information had cost, Zhi didn't want to think about), and where their smugglers stashed the goods holding the drugs. She was walking that way alongside Captain Doendragasyn. The goal was for him to walk past Flit while Flit was on guard duty, and for the two men to strike up a conversation, playing at being old buddies. The plan had been quickly conceived, and there were numerous holes. They were playing fast and loose, but with other committments squeezing in on Zhi, she'd been unable to set it up any other way. Zhi herself was playing bored hired muscle as backup, though she sure as shit wasn't no strongarm and would be useless if for some ungodly reason things came down to a fight. Eh, details. Point was, she would be there if they needed a verbal boost. "That's him," she murmured to the Cap'n, giving a subtle jerk of her head towards Flit. They were in the Handers' woods now, though as long as they didn't try to sell anything without permission they'd be left alone. Or pissed anyone off, but that went for anywhere in Limsa. "Long lost friend, remember. Keep it simple. Let's go."

"Huh," Zhi said. She opened her left eye. "Too late. Yer smokes. . .stale." She extended the offending cigarette towards him. Her eye lit upon him, then traveled down to his supplies. She pushed herself up with a wince, sat crosslegged on the bed. "Joz wouldn't have most o' that," she said slowly while he took her head in hand. She ignored his smack talking about her ideas. Like he had room to chivvy her. Talking hurt. His fingers hurt. "Basics only." She looked up at him, expression as sour as she could make it. Expressions hurt.

I'll rumor you if you rumor me? I know we haven't met IC, but... I can fake it! People do tend to gossip in passing (even if harmlessly) about people they don't know irl. -
Zhi simpered at Targaryen even as she giggled at Thatcher's words. It was layered atop her anger, disguising it, but not hiding it in entirety. "Come t'me, sweetin'." What followed were simple directions. Zhi didn't know where else to take Thatcher that would be appropriate to her newfound. . .aura of command. True, the tunnel was narrow and dark, and smelled of mildew, but the overlook was open and the only complaint that could be levied against it was that the ocean could be smelled. But that was something you couldn't escape in Limsa. "Buzz me if ye need further words, boss." Zhi breezed past Targaryen, back to the overlook. "Come," she said, the sole word flippant. She left the lantern at the mouth of the tunnel so that Thatcher might see its light.

Forum arpeeee. Delicious. If you want your character to have known mine before yours left within the past 9-ish years or so (mine remains a criminal-type in Limsa) I'd love to collab! Huzzah for Limsa! Welcome to the RPC, and to the rp side of FFXIV.

Tiergan's Thread of Shameless Self-Promotion [No Commissions. Apologies.]
Zhavi replied to Tiergan's topic in Artisan House
Yeah I think I um. . .I think I need to hop on this bandwagon. We'll see how much money I have left after blowing it all during vacation. -
There would be utterly no sense in faking anything. Zhi relaxed some, more at ease in her own skin then playing as someone else. She wasn't sure if she'd do it again, given a choice. She put the book down between them, opened it up, and pointed. Twenty letters. "I know some few words," she admitted, keeping her eyes pinned to the book.

Limsa could reeeeallly use more good guys loyal to Limsa. Or more bad guys, I won't complain about more criminals, neither.

Wooo! I too left long ago (albeit um, right at the first launch -- their silence towards beta feedback combined with friends' reports about the finished game convinced me to wait awhile) and came back. I am happy to say that the rp community is absolutely wonderful and pretty easy to get back into so long as you're willing to communicate with others. Welcome back!! What sort of character are you looking to make?

There was a lack of anything that might be considered sympathetic in Zhi's gaze. "Th' woman said t'go t'the warehouse. Gave ye th'way. Have ye forgotten already? Go there, ask who's inside."

"I used to be a Highlander. Then I took a Fantasia-laced cookie." ?? I admit, I did feel a leeeetle teeny tiny bit defensive because as far as I know I'm one of the only ones who has actually used Fantasia for an IC plot. I also have had quite a few people send me tells about it @_@; But overall I feel like Kage's had some great characterization and until I reach that side effect plot, I'll be riding on a pretty great RP high. For the last week I've been antsy and at the edge of my seat excited with all the plot I've been able to work in and with. OOCly I was feeling like Kage as a lalafell was getting stale. I had great help with the plotting of it and I'm reaping the RP rewards. (for what it's worth, I like how you did it. I just really liked reading about Kage the lalafell. But you've thought it all out, so I mean. . .my protest was meant to be humorous. Sorry! >>)

"After ye go on shift." Zhi gave him a steady look. She raised her eyebrows at him, half turned to go.

-
I'm in this FC and know the members.....(LOL love you guys!)...it's likely to be the latter. Edit: Depending on who's on duty, I'd say. LOL!! if this is so I will go be quietly excited in the corner

I would love you more than I already love you, and I wouldn't bother with tables except for relationships (because they take up so much space, otherwise). THIS I SWEAR. -
Well, I mean, there are nice bars where you order mixed drinks and wear nice clothing down to the ones where only hard alcohol gets served and all surfaces are sticky and you can't tell what their original color used to be. I NEED MORE OF THE LATTER. ;_;
-
What um. . .what sort of bar? >>

Don't worry, Zhi will whip him into shape. >: ) *coughcough* On topic, because my time in game has been so limited, and the number of people I've rped with has been limited, I thought for the longest time that it was something that people just quietly didn't acknowledge. Like, you know, pretending the guy was always that gender or species. If I was to use it icly, I'd play it out in such a way as it would be hard as balls to repeat, and would involve some sort of sacrifice so my character would avoid it thereafter. Or I dunno, but pretty much it'd be a one time thing and would involve Bad Things.
