For Zhi, she's poor and beyond that -- she doesn't really consider the outside world as a legit existence beyond places she understands in relation to Limsa. Limsa is her world. Why leave when she'd have zero influence and have to start from scratch in an unknown place, with unknown people and unknown rules? For non-adventurers, presumably the character has a job and a life in the city. I mean, I only visit other cities irl when I'm on vacation and when I have the money to leave. The rest of the time I stay in my local area doing my thing. And to me, Limsa isn't quite there yet. I think it could be a lot more interconnected rp wise, have larger stories going on. That's where I've chosen to put myself, and that's what I've chosen to try and do. I think it's always a good thing to spread out and try to buff up rp in other areas, but part of the reason for why people don't, I think, is limited time. If you're rping one thing in one area, you're going to likely be missing out on another rp thing in another area. Some people are fairly tied up in stories in one area and want to rp out those stories with those people in that area for the time it is going on. If you've only got a few hours every day to be in game rping, well, those are the choices you have to make. It takes time and effort to draw people into other areas for rp, to build the sort of backstory (icly -- characters with history together are going to be more likely to play together) that will make people continuously come back with intent.

Without a clear dismissal, Zhi backed up two steps. She folded her arms, content to observe the meeting for the time being. She was the image of the perfect lackey, ruined only by the lazy smirk that twisted up her lips. She met Targaryen's glance, and then looked to Thatcher, impatient and on edge.

Brainstorm for Episodic rp event ((Poll up for getting best of the week))

As the resident creeper watching from the side, I am heartily enjoying this. -
Zhi drifted alongside the Cap'n, keeping a weather eye on the surroundings while still being able to pass for bored. She gave Flit a languorous up and down stare, not seeming to register him as anything more than a temporary distraction. No supervisors in sight, yet.

Zhi had continued with a muttered "since I last had good smokes, too," at the tail end of the word 'forever,' but it fell beneath Jager's words. She wasn't sure if he heard her. Didn't really matter if he hadn't. There was a calmness in the room that she hadn't experienced for a while. A slow breeze moved in past the open window, stirring the warm air. It felt nice. She reached out a hand to take the bottle, but was unable to quite reach it. Rather than make the effort to sit up, she simply left her arm outstretched, hand limp as she waited for him to tip it just a bit closer her way. The first question he posed she didn't answer, choosing instead to remain silent as he kept talking. And he was talking, was more talkative than he'd been since she'd met him. She thought she knew what that meant, and because she owed him she didn't tease him for his apparent weakness, even if she thought it ridiculous that he should be so skittish about what had occurred. His last question confused her. "I don't. . .want that," she said, thinking of Galleon and Thatcher. "But I want t' . . . call me own shots. Tired o'sleepin' wi' lice an' fleas."

I never rped with you, but I saw you out and about on the RPC and always thought you were a cool cat. Welcome back and glad you're on the road to recovery!

Definitely rhythm based. If not a proper drum (one of the sort you'd hold between your knees or on your lap), then whatever is handy and available to beat on. :3

Turning from the mirror back to the bed, Zhi sat down on it carefully. She laid out flat with a groan. Likely she'd be doing everything with a groan, soon enough. "Forever," she said, staring up at the ceiling. Could be she sounded especially young just then.

"Ugh I need to update my character's Wiki"

. . . . . .never!. . . . . -
Heeeey, good on you for trying something out you've never tried before! I wish you the best with your rp endeavors, and just keep on keeping on. Welcome to the RPC.
-
Weeeeeeell, if he ever swings into Limsa and happens to get tied up in questionable activity, you just give me a holler.
-
Ahahaha, now that you mention it, I guess that is above the average. Well, you've peaked my interest with him. Whereabouts do you see him hanging out?
-
Older character? How much older? 40s? 50s? 60s? Welcome back, sir Knave! :3

I think we're going for IN Mist itself. Since it's right on the beach and all. I can ask our "Manager" of the estate, Siben Farnesworth, however and get back to you. Night Blades is a medium RP FC and sometimes we get caught up in endgame so we don't do as much RP as we would like to (don't get me wrong, we have some heavy rpers in the guild) and we think buying up property for RPers to use without fear of bugging an FC (We have our own large house after all) or griefers will be our way of really helping the community flourish. *fans self* Be still, my beating heart.

Zhi watched him as he backed up, and for a moment there was a certain coldness there. . .but then she went back to the deranged smile. "What, no more promises, lambkin?" "It'd seem," she continued, louder, "that yer bard likes his privacy, boss. He's ripe'n'ready. Could be mebbe it's me own signal t'leave. So I'll keep it short fer ye -- we need more information on what Tabart's doin'. Not jes on th'side o'the doxies an' hirelin's, but where th'money's runnin'. This one likes his women, he does, so send him in t'woo one o' Tabart's clerks. Get at 'em that way." Even with her cockiness running full steam, Zhi was on edge. "Shall I leave ye to't, boss?"
-
"Yer right crooked fer a flirt, ain't ye?" Zhi didn't budge. She took his nearness -- and his hand covering her own -- in stride. "Ahhh, that's right. Whoresbane, ain't ye?" She stepped into him, her hips leading. Her upper body bent slightly backward as she tipped her face up to see him. "Lookin' t'add some notches t'yer belt, are ye? Maybe ye've nothin' else t'yer head t'give ye a more clever goal. But ye still haven't answered me question, pet. What do I get out o' it?" Yeah, he'd gotten under her skin. She was irritated. It showed in the smile she gave him: coquetry laced with a feral quality that could have qualified for 'slightly deranged'. But the challenge had been made, and she was not one to back down so easily.

Oh hey, one more question -- I know in the past some people have said that they don't rp their FC houses as being in those wards. Will this one be rped as being in or on the outskirts of Limsa itself, or within Mist?

Targaryen's words were familiar territory. Zhi had never taken pains to make anything of her body. She used it as any other doxy did, but in an opposite manner; the appearance of androgyny, of a lack of sexual appeal, helped to keep her off others' radars. The return to what was for her standard fare was evident in the draining tension from her shoulders and the playful curve of her tail. Relief. This, she understood -- it was the unknown of his former behavior, the knowledge that she was not desirable to those who had beauty that had put her on edge. At once, the anger left her, leaving behind smug satisfaction. "Ahhh, has word o'the boss returned yer senses to ye? Or did ye jes think on me words an' realize ye don't know what ye want?" She turned, walked backwards a few steps. "I'll hire out fer streetrunnin' if ye come t'find ye have wits an' . . .needs. . . after all," she crossed her arms and leaned her upper body forward, lowering her voice, "but keep in mind -- when yer ready t'deal -- that I won't hire out t'lackwits wi'out a good investment first." She lifted her left hand from where it rested on her upper arm, and rubbed her fingers together in the universal sign for gil. She straightened. She grinned. As grins went, it could be seen as the epitome of insufferable.

SCREW THAT. -
Sometimes you just have to try, no matter the chance of failure.

I'm always listening in. Zhi doesn't have one ic, but if someone hollers for rp oocly and I'm available, I'll be there.

Discomfort sidled up Zhi's spine. She'd never been a particularly good student, pretending with Lalataru aside, and letters were especially her bane. As a streetrunner, she'd more cause than most gutterborn to be able to read, even if just a little. It'd caused her hardship in the past. It made her feel stupid. She'd preserved herself by insisting to any who questioned her that she didn't need to read to be good at her job; on the contrary, she'd felt the need to prove a point by not learning. And there they were. "A'right," she said after a long pause. She tried to scour the conflicting emotion from her voice, was mostly successful. "Introduce me."

When I was a teenager, I read Robin Hobb's take on her main character in the Farseer Trilogy, and how she'd always been interested in supporting characters since she'd read about Sam in LotR as a child (Fitz was, to her, not the main character in the events of the trilogy, but a supporting character who was doing the narration -- assuming I'm remembering right). It stuck with me. It's become my favorite part to play in rp -- the person who helps push things along, but who isn't necessarily the focus of plot/story. Plus, I'll admit, I get a huge kick out of seeing people roll with things I've helped create the foundation for.
