Looking to brawl in The Quicksand!
Cliodhna Eoghan replied to Branson Thorne's topic in Chronicled Connections
That's the beauty of it being a "Fight Club" done in secret deal Chacha. Erik doesn't bar fight, and his position as the clean cut political motivated highlander keeps him out of Grindestone and bars and all. But this is a secret fight, Erik can cut loose and be a highlander. Chacha can drop the goody goody at the door and break a bottle to cut some dude's head off. Good times. I'm really excited for this. Someone must make BEEF. Eorzea needs a Fight Club. so....erik possibly finds an outlet for his closely controlled highlander bloodlust....... >.> <.< ....is he still gonna be all lusty after he's been bloodied up and on his way home? Like an Argonian Maid...... -

EDIT: gdi erik, you beat me to posting it! D< -
a magical warm tent? OuO that does sound pretty dapper, plus i'm a sucker for fortune telling (both ic/ooc..... ) so i might make up a reason to go just to have that happen. i like the idea of open prayers; when explained this way, it sounds more like out-loud wishing (similar to a wishing well) which would be fun to listen in and see who's wanting to get more involved with who romantically 8D (i know not all of them will be that....but still.....romance is fun to watch >u< ) *snugs as requested* :3

Sure, though the next date won't be till after march (unless I did a Friday and a Saturday back to back... but then my wrist may snap right off.) i'm sure he's okay with that. (the waiting, not the wrist sapping....)

fix your username and icon bart .-----. also to op; as you seen, fights in the qs are not really going to be encouraged too much sooooo.... grindstone and friday night fisticuffs links to threads that will give you a chance to get busted up on a weekly basis. won't fix your view on the quicksand being boring; but will give you something to do as far as fighting goes c: -

Just as she was about to reply; there was an explosion of color sound and smoke. Coughing harshly, Cliodhna frantically fanned the air around her face as she struggled to see though the sparkled mess; blinking bits of glitter from her tearing eyes. "The hell?" She grumbled, still coughing as the smoke slowly started to clear; revealing the bar to be mostly empty, showing just how many of his crew had been present. Staring at the confused stragglers; Cliodhna merely shrugged and - still coughing - picked up the wine bottle from the table and left out the front door. Youkio sat on his boat, turning the cards over in his hand. Shuffling and folding, flipping them carelessly as they settled back into place; never losing them to the wind off the water as they threatened to fly away. There had been a note...they had known his plans. How? He had only thought it through this morning. There was no way they could have....unless they had tabs on them the whole time. Youkio kicked at an leftover crate that he kept on hand for storage. It was of course empty; he had to empty everything out when he lost Geruda, before she was known by her apparent name change. This thought was met with a small growl. "Aw quit yer bitchin, ya got er back an a chance at a new job like ye wanted." Skittle pipped up, preening on the helm. "But it weren't on my terms!" Youkio fumed. "She had to save my ass again! I'm never gonna get to pay her back, she keeps this goin!" Skittles tilted his head, eyeing Youkio. "Well then, ya got a chance to prove y'self now don't ya?" Youkio glanced down at the card that had been slipped in with his deck. "Yah....I do..."

Cliodhna smiled warily, staring into the glass as if memories floated on the surface of it's blood-hued contents. She let those thoughts linger a moment before dispelling them with a quick tilt of the glass; sending small ripples in the wine. Turning her attention back to the Cap'n, she replied. "War is a hell of a thing to live through....It has an uncanny way of making strangers closer than lovers in some respect." Expression softening, her gaze drifted to his poking and prodding at the bag of coins with the greasy bone. "Though he feels as if there's a debt that needs repaying, I was only doing then what I'm doing now; watching out for him as one would a younger sibling. His sort wasn't cut out for that sort of lifestyle and I managed to save him from it..." Watching his narrowed eyes further inspect the coins, Cliodhna gave another soft chuckle. "They're real, I assure you...I wouldn't be trying to buy the information needed or Garuda back with false promises, lest the repercussions were to fall on him or myself." Pausing, Cliodhna took another pull from her wine as her companion was momentarily distracted. Once the promise of Piper's ship being returned was given, she let go of the glass to rest her chin in upturned hands. Merrily, she regarded his showmanship of taking the bag of gil and stashing it in a pocket for safekeeping. "I'm sure he'll be angry but part of him will be elated for having it back in the end." She sighed, this was true. Youkio did have a unhealthy habit for drink and gambling but hopefully this would help correct his priorities, at least a little; this hope Cliodhna could not keep herself from voicing. "Though I have tried to save him, Piper still wishes to walk an ill suited path. Though overall lacking in skill, he is still young and has promise...but that I will leave to your discerning eye. I can't and won't be there every bell of his life just to ensure he keeps himself from being strung up, but i also can't ignore a problem of his that can be fixed easily enough." She paused, hand forming into a fist resting against her lips in thought. "Granted I'd like him to learn this lesson himself but I can't abide with his current living conditions that were a result of his drunken carelessness." Throughout the conversation, Cliodhna was slowly dropping the mask of morally confused solider lost in her current plight of duty or survival. Seemingly un-bothered by the Dunesfolk apparent threat, she simply frowned. Shaking her head; hair swaying before brushing it back from her face once more. "No, I can assure you that he is not intending to be a decisive factor of ending an act early in regards to your grand show. If anything; I was against his half-brained idea when he first voiced it, but as stated...He'll do what he wishes, or at least try to" Sighing she held her hands out helplessly. "If you see potential in Piper, you can do as you see fit; otherwise turn down his scramble plea that I'm sure you'll receive shortly and leave him to his own devices." Draining the last of her wine, Cliodhna slowly scooted back the chair and stood. "However if you ever find a need to contact me; you may do so through him. I will not forget the help you've been, regardless of payment being a factor in your decision to do so." Inclining her head, she regarded the Cap'n one last time. "I wish you luck in your future performances and I thank you for the hospitality and indulging my conversation." Giving him another wary smile; she then turned to take her leave. ~~~ Youkio stared in disbelief, garnet eyes the size of saucers. Tail flicking to and fro, ears flat against his head and mouth hung open like a gasping fish. She couldn't have....She wouldn't have dared to.... "Seven hells, Tempest...." He grumbled, hands balling into fists and nails digging into the palms. Youkio had told her not to meddle in getting Geruda back, but she did anyway. Still staring at his boat as it slowly made it's way into the docks; he vigorously scratched at his scalp. Mostly from his frustration. He had told her no! That was still running through his brain. No, no, no, no, no! And she still did it anyway! "I ain't ever gonna pay her back after this....afore...maybe...but now....gods damnit..." Still swearing and grumbling, Youkio kicked a rock as he stomped around by the kitchen door. Skittles swooping through the kitchen and settling on his shoulder; cawing with laughter.

Meeting the Dunesfolk's grin with a coy smile and twinging of hair between her fingers; Cliodhna gave a soft laugh. "Oh yes....I'm aware but there's something to be said for showing a bit of modesty versus boasting...Therefore, we'll leave the matter rest for now for simplicity's sake." While waiting for the drink, She watched his movements intently as he spoke. The manner of how The Capta'n swung around the dodo leg, his overly animated shrug with the denial of intel on another planned attack. Though he was still making a bigger show of things than need be, it was clear that the words being peppered between bites of food were true. He had no further contact from whoever had ordered the initial job and furthermore, it was safe to assume the more interesting person was the supposed dead charge that had disappeared with them into the waves that night. "Of course...It would have been foolish to assume you hadn't kept tabs on us on some level." She smirked, "But again, our intent was getting to safety and finding the one who placed the gears into motion....Not the muscle behind it until we felt there could be some valuable tidbit of information you could be holding." Shortly after their server arrived with the requested wine and surprisingly clean glasses. "Ah, my thanks." She nodded to the server happily. The bottle was a bit dusty but looked to be due to hiding in a forgotten corner. Possibly it would taste better than Cliodhna was expecting to come from the kitchen. Long fingers already curled around a nearby corkscrew from the table; she quickly popped the cork on the bottle and distributed the wine between the glasses until each had about an ilm or so of the deep, ruby liquid. Pausing she rested the rim of the glass against her lips to sample the bouquet. It was a heady mixture of rolanberry with traces of honey to it. Feeling her lips curve against the glass; Cliodhna tilted her hand enough to let the liquid meet her mouth, further enticing her senses. Oh yes, this was much nicer than she had been expecting indeed. Though a pleasant surprise, now was not the time to enjoy as much as she would have liked. Gently she placed the glass back on the table, fingers still framed loosely around the stem as she talked. "I dare say I can understand your point. Though roguish in nature; I had hoped there was still a bit of lingering honor in regards to assisting a lady in need." Reaching for the earlier shown bag of gil and tossing it to the the table where the coins spilled from the loosely tied leather pouch; showing quite a hefty amount. "But I'm also aware that life is not always as we hope, therefore I have brought means to help fund your endeavors in exchange for the information you have already provided." Deftly, she took another quick sip of her lovely wine before returning to conversation. "However, as you've clearly made yourself aware as well...You have a rather unique relationship with one of our members, so to speak." She smiled again, twirling the glass gently to swirl it's contents. "He's also expressed quite an interest in becoming more of a performer in his own right but that would be up to you and your crew....I will state that part of that pouch's contents should be enough to return his lost love to him....or being such a shrewd businessman as I'm sure you are; this side show of a deal could be kept in reserved audience until you've deemed he's earned right to view." Chuckling, She leaned back in her seat knowing full well Skittles had heard the proposal from his hiding spot in the rafters. "He's a bit of a stubborn one and would refuse my help had it been openly offered, but I'll admit he's rather close to my heart so I can't help but try to look out for him. You know how it is, family comes in many forms and some bonds can be stronger than that formed from blood."
