In terms of cavern dwelling Duskwight Elezen in particular, I imagine that they might have something of their own language as well, if not several variants. I think it was mentioned somewhere before (I want to find the source for this) that they may have various signals between sort of echoing cave wall-tapping like Morse code almost. I'd think too, they could have different spoken languages considering their seclusion from the outside world. And then if you figure in the potential for individual clans... I can see them having either dialects, or entirely familial-specific languages. If you merely live among the same group for generations, without much outside contact (depending on the degree of seclusion) I figure it'd be pretty conceivable to have a language sort of evolve that only particulars of that group can fully grasp. But that's mostly speculation, and likely dependent on conditions.

Belated thanks for doing this! ... This was the first event my character actually made it to without getting entirely lost / being late / having some weird thing befall him between where he was and the event destination (he has the worst luck) , and even though it was small in attendance (more people should totally do it next time; there were IG prizes that I am still surprised about), it was well-thought out and fun. uvu Xavarian didn't know any of the others involved, but it was neat to briefly see glimpses of all the other personalities too. *u* Nevermind the small adventures of finding a thing and going from one place to the next. ... My character would definitely be interested in attending these too. ... He.. is so helplessly lost basically always. But being 'new to the surface', and also 'seeking all Knowledge' (nevermind his constantly lost status), he'd find these things very interesting and useful. ... He'd probably be one of those guys that has a billion questions about the thing. And taking notes. And being a Complete Tourist Nerd. That said, I am all for this kind of event, and would definitely throw my character at it, schedule permitting. uvu

I've never been faced with such a possibility. That there might be a cure for my.. situation. Yet.. what would it mean for me? That I would have myself entirely under control? That I would no longer need to worry of the pain, of the- [blot] the episodes? The loss of consciouness, the feeling of elsewhere, the [blot] crystals? The paralysis? The exhaustion? What would it cure exactly, and what would be lost? What would be the cost? I am curious for Knowledge, of course, how can I not be? I want to know.. why. But at what price? Will I [blot] will I give up myself? To have to rely on another yet again... I don't know what I should do. I am curious, but it is dangerous. And he is a duskwight. What if he knew my Family? Ritual : Aetheric Reassembling Purpose: To revert Asheloux's body back to its previous state, alive and in entirety. Summary: Using Sylphan Glamours to create a 'base in Aether' of what his body once was like, a ritual will be completed which modifies Aether-flow in the circle such that in teleportation, Asheloux's material Aether will disassemble (as it does normally when teleporting) and reassemble differently from it's start. The reassembling transformation will take shape of the pre-established Glamour of his hoped-for / original body. Materials of Earth element help solidify Aether. Aetheryte materials help teleport, modify, disassemble, and reassemble Aether. The circle binds the procedure together appropriately for the desired outcome. It is relatively simple in practice, the material gathering and spelling being the most difficult part. I can only imagine how difficult it must be at times for others to deal with myself. [spot] Anyroad, I've some ideas. I hadn't thought it something one could do, in truth, before I had seen Ellemeare after her ritual, but it would appear that there might be ritual means to change another's form. [blot] To be true, I've no idea what methods her family used for such a procedure, but they did so and were able to change her form, so I am sure a mere reversal of one that already occurred, especially back to one's regular body, would be plausible. If at all possible, I'd like it to be as much a reversal as it can be. It is the safest route, I believe, to use what one already knows to work in such a method, and apply it in a logical fashion to a desired, and equally logical, result. I'm sure there are other ways. But I am bound by my knowledge and what they have said, and so, I will use a number of similar materials for the circle. I'll need to dig through some of the Family Tomes of mine, make sure my circles are accurate, create the right formation, and gather any excess materials that will be needed. I'll.. need to head to Little Solace as well; I've no doubt there are some that would be interested, Furixia immediately comes to mind. I hope this gathering somehow happens, if only because it seems like there would be so many different sorts of characters coming together, with all sorts of outlooks that might either mesh somehow, or completely clash. I also think this sounds neat, and my character would definitely be interested too. *u* While Xavarian is somewhat logically minded, with a decent amount of Aetherical knowledge, he's actually still learning quite a bit about the 'established' disciplines. Most of his past Aetherical practice is actually grounded more in rituals. Though studying as a thaumaturge, he's not encountered anyone else (yet, to his knowledge) who also has much experience in the more 'ritualistic' area, so I'm certain he'd be quite eager to meet and learn from those more inclined that way. uvu *throws another Weird Duskwight onto the pile* Bonus points if Iskierka is there too, because my dumb nerd is already SUPER WARY OF HER. ~Potential conflict~

A note that Asheloux takes to barging into my study when he feels the need to contain himself from burning places down. At the least, he claims he won't due to the tomes and Knowledge, but [blot] He also has a great hate for Ishgard. Oddly, it seems that they offered their assistance to his research, despite their great distrust for outsiders... and Asheloux worries he may somehow be enslaved, or put under displeasing circumstances by the Holy See, as he has no particular 'proper documentation' of living in any state. [blot] Which reminds me, I may well need to update my own papers, in the case of such needing notion. But regardless. Apparently Asheloux has been working on something that involves dragons; perhaps that is why they've an interest? The one who came to plead the case of assistance seems to grate on Asheloux immensely, however; a choice quote of his I recall: "His face projects the very essence of stupidity making him impossible read." Though he did mention 'maintaining his status as an insider'... does that mean he is Ishgardian? I do admit, as much as he is dreadfully grumpy, the wildwood is at the least entertaining at times. Though I, too, admit, that it sounds a frustrating position to be in. And I've still amusement at his calling of me a 'glowing swamp monster'. Claiming, of course, that it is entirely my fault for making him want to vomit by my appearance, though that my visage is at least a little more tolerable to him now with the assistance of my scepter. He knew not how it was done, but found himself interested. I thus explained a bit. And.. he wishes to find for me something different. An experiment, of sorts. Mentioning he had a number of artifacts himself, and.. could steal more if wished~ I do admit, I'd be curious to see the effects on options I've not yet tried, so.. should this ever arise, I would be interested in the results. It is nice, at times, to meet one that respects those more sensitive of hearing, speaking the normal of Below to those who hail from it. So much so that I imagine they might be one of our own. What an intriguing hooded traveler, and one of Aetherical potency with interest in mine, no doubt. I wonder if we may meet again. [blot] Though am I really so different from the others? I suppose when it comes to outside Knowledge, there are those more wary. To some ends I see why. And then there are those with entirely different goals in mind. Super late to the party, and not actually adding to the current discussion about this, but... Insofar as being interested in cross-FC-plots and such, I'm personally interested in seeing if the Eagle and Quill could make it to the meeting. However, I am not the leader, nor in any place of power at all, but my main reason for interest is that the FC itself is based around a bookstore which could be useful for other FCs to come by for research plots and so forth. As it stands, it's a location always open for anyone to RP in, and I think it'd be neat to see it get more IC activity. That said, would it be possible to put E&Q tentatively on the list? I'm going to ask the FC leader if she's interested in this, and will come back to state With Certainty if we'd be attending in any way based on that. But she's often busy (and I've been too) so I've not been able to catch her yet. A potential couple more for the headcount, though. I think it'd be interesting to have more widespread plots, or at least, some FC interaction.

spriggans.

It's less so a clear representation of ability with recognizable components, but my character, and his Family, have symbols associated with them that occur on various things related to them. It's basically like a signature, only with more weight (and is more vague to outsiders; perfect) that carries particular significance to those associated in the culture. Xavarian's symbol (which may or may not be in use yet). It comes in various forms. He also has a 'family symbol' which basically all the Mystrifes are associated with. Incidentally, there are some similarities. Creepy ritual variant. v

That all that happened, I hath never felt such an elated sort of fire within, even after, as though it were kindled in her presence and fans with my thoughts. She'd been in the ocean before, seems to enjoy it quite, yet she doesn't know either~ What an amusing irony. But she found me there, and after hearing of my to-be experiments, she led me on~ Deeper out into the waves, it was- it was rather indescribable. Such a vastness, like wading into a breathing thing that stretches on beyond sight and sound both. A suggestion to emerse myself was given, and it was- [blot] the sounds beneath! She was surprised I could hear the creatures of the sea moving about, or, so I thought I could. We spoke of Many Things, small things, (of course she knew the sounds, of course she couldn't hear the fishes, but that she might join me anyway~) and she sung a song for me. A small experiment. And I could hear them! I'll be thrice damned if I can wring them to mind now, my mind races so. But that she would sing~ Something changed her mind, and I was quite excited by it. She wished to see the tome though, and thus, we made a return and- [blot] That was when I- we-[spot spot] I was so pleased that I could trust her. I told her then, when she asked. Much. And- well, it was frightening, but also felt- I wanted to. I'd never given the words I'd wrote in the letters yet, but even then, even there, I wished to tell her that [blot] should I be an Uncertain thing, a strange being speaking a language unknown, to merely ask me, and I will try to give her my words more clearly. I would try to let her know me as I could. And without my telling, she asked. So of course, I wished to answer. [a few spots] She knows me more now. From what I came, though not where, exactly who, entirely why. She knows my name. I [blot] My thoughts dance in ever changing spirals~ She took my hand once. And I took hers. Xavarian Mystrife: Spriggan / Spriggan / Spriggan / Spriggan / Spriggan Xavarian would know basically nothing about Triple Triad. He wouldn't know how the game worked, he wouldn't realize that he probably couldn't have 5 Spriggans, or if he could, that he shouldn't. And he'd need someone to sit him down and explain the whole mess to him. But damnit, he likes Spriggans, and if he ever crossed the cards on his wanderings, and especially since these are more common, he'd probably have gravitated towards the Spriggan ones, forgetting he already has a bunch, and just. Ended up with a ton of them. He does what he wants, you're not his real dad. Edit: I'll note that I haven't actually had the chance to get in on this mess beyond reading the patch notes too, so if there is some weird lore thing about cards binding and only being able to have a certain number, then. ... Excuse my ignorance, but if they're just normal cards, then. YEP.

I saw this and got super excited because I thought you meant literally 'underground', like subterranean caverns, underground. ... but alas. There is actually at least one linkshell for this kind of thing! At least insofar as more 'individual characters looking to get involved in shady business' are concerned. I happen to be one of the officers, though it's more or less 'shady characters' in general, often morally ambiguous and otherwise, and not necessarily strictly organizations as 'underground' might imply. Honestly, it could be both, but it wasn't organization focused. That said, it's OOC, could use more people in it actively (as it's entirely for making connections and setting up 'shady' RPs), and so on. It has a few people in it currently, and last I heard, some of them were thinking of forming a plot. I have a character who is an IC scribe and book-binder, and will ICly (while I OOCly) write down people's stories / requests for them, as well as things he's written himself. As in, literally; he will meet with someone's character, they tell him their story, and he will write and 'publish' the thing, binding the book for it and all. A link to the actual story will be made so the person in question can actually keep it and direct people to it, saying 'yep, this is the book my character had made and written' so people can read it and know what it's actually about. As well as coming up with however many copies they want. Not that anyone's finished taking him up on that yet since he came to the surface (an attempt was made though, but life arose), but yeah. In short, I think it's completely plausible! Someone's gotta write all those books out there.
