The Second Annual Royal Ball of Ul'dah - Update (Time Set)
Kurt S. replied to Erik Mynhier's topic in Chronicled Events
A ball huh...which means there are rich people...which means that Ramona could stand to gain some knowledge on getting rich...which means my red-clad mage will make appearance there in her red robes if she isn't otherwise preoccupied. Which means I may or may not sleep for this event...wonderful! Because my other characters are elsewhere ICly. -

Thanks for all the useful insight everyone, much appreciated so I guess WVR to 50 first for me, if nothing other than the fact that it's my highest level craft sitting at level 20.
-
So from this I guess, I should first get all the crafts to 15, then Weaver to 50 for a universally useful skill and the ability make (I assume) better looking clothes as well as maybe, just maybe transpose the look of mage robes onto Kurt and his Axe. Now what I'm curious about is what is progress and control? Am I correct in thinking that progress is a more 'hasty' I suppose method that carries a chance of 'synthesis fail'? While control is a more steady, although slower method? The macros posted I assume are for Armorsmiths?
-
So there's a turn order for it too? Here I thought you just power them all to 15 and then focus on one untill you get errything to 50.
-
Personally I wanna do carpenter first...so I can make shit Kurt's room.
-
So after like RPing with someone the whole seasonal quest shtick on Kurt, which I enjoyed a lot. I thought maybe I could do the same for Ramoaners maybe with a bigger group to hear her somewhat snarky quips at all those reunited couples as well as idle banter along thanalan, the shroud and la noscea. Doesnt hafta be a group too even just one lucky(?) guy or girl. For example *party chat under the pretense of linkpearl comms* "Hey I found the lalafell...oh wait he says its not him....i can punt him away now right? He wasted my tiiime." On the kurt side of things I wonder where I can get a black half-mask... I kinda wanna dick around with the idea of a masked man decked in black and white handing out flowers to lonely looking girls on valentione's day or at least the day, the day before and the day after. And it also sounds like something he might do ICly. I dunno just ideas swimming in my head that I wanna share.
-
I almost forgot to level all the crafting to 15. Thanks for the reminder, Aris. Oh yeah I play on the ps4 sometimes how do your fingers and wrist survive, what I assume, the whole R2 and spam buttons?
-
That'll be handy to keep in mind. Just gotta find someone who can that...and raise the cash. Like I'm really sitting on 600k flat.
-
Weaver then. What if I'm not getting my own materials? Do I need to like scratch a million or something?
-
So even just crafting, I'm liable to fall into a river? Wonderful. Oh yeah, is 600k enough to get at least one level 50 DoH? I'm debating on whether or not I fifty his CRP first or WVR...on the one hand, his private room has nothing but a picture of Hildy and Nashu, on the other hand, snazzy new threads I'm not sure he can wear.
-
So yeah I decided that it should probably be time I get ALL.....yes ALL DoH to level 50 on Kurt. And I've heard that leves are the best way to go about doing that. What I want to know is do you guys have like some sort of playlist or something to go along with the crafting or maybe some other activity that you're doing to keep your sanity intact while you're making the nth number of Initiate's Slops/Walnut Bread/Whatever because a guide said so? I guess I just wanna be prepared oh so very prepared for what I, as a nub, assume will be when my sanity slowly starts eroding as I spam 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 until god knows when...
-
You want a level 50 Tanke or Deeps tagging along with ya? Not really sure when you're on but feel free to send a tell to any of my characters if you want someone to help ya run those dungeons. Assuming I'm on and available.

Felt like I wanted to share what Ramuh-na looks like now. Credits to Merri for supplying her with a robe that does not possess the super douche-neck. And I only spent 200k inclusive of dyes.

Okay but just being possession of a soulstone, I mean even if it doesn't give you god powers right off the bat, it will make you feel markedly different right? -

Okay so I had the suspicion that BLMs and WHMs are so forgotten you'd pass one by the street and not know it is them. Now one last set of questions to mull over before I try to formulate something. -Does being black mage make one more powerful? -Does it also warp one's mind/perception/personality? -Will there be voices in one's head? -Is there any difference between a Thauma and BLM ability (okay so BLMs have Freeze and Flare but what I'm asking is if it is notable. I mean black magicianry is illegal but I have no idea where the boundary lies between dangerous Thaumaturgy and harmless black magery.) like how one might distinguish black magicianry to thaumaturgy, example would Fire/Blizzard/Thunder III be considered part of a black mage's repertoire or a Thauma's? -Is it also possible for a Thaumaturge to do a rank 3 Limit Break or even just rank 2? If not successfully pull off, even just attempt it. -Say someone took a black mage soul stone quite unintentionally, does the stone have resonate just like the Job questlines assuming one is compatible are there any other tells that one graduated from thaumaturgy to black magery? /sounsyysignal -

/Sounsyysignal So I'm toying around with an idea for Ramona's past that ties into her partial amnesia and the fact that she was in a coma to begin with. I wanna know any and every implication being a black mage has. Any bit of lore about em would be nice. I've already got an idea for the why but I think it all hinges on whether or not I can possibly turn her into a black mage to begin with. Granted this whole black mage thing doesn't get too apparent until maybe a little after she hits 50 and/or runs a few HMs. Unless lore states otherwise, as of now she's just trying to get back into the swing of burning things, freezing things and/or outright zapping things. Assuming I find some way to make it all plausible, I might need to start asking around for a Black Mage to be her mentor. Playing around with the idea that she is *character*'s apprentice, who struck out on her own because pride and overconfidence, and maybe a little bit of passion for a certain male and his FC. I assume hubris like that is common for a fresh black mage otherwise it could just be her own character. Alternatively, according to Adeya, there's a crapload of bad blood between WHM's and BLM's so maybe its possible to play off of that? A rival WHM or something, assuming it isn't hardwired into them to erase the other on sight? Assuming it's even possible for one to come into contact with another. Anyway regardless of who recognizes her, bottomline she was part of an FC and had the hots the for boss. And then...well shit happened. Ugh, sorry I still don't know how else to word my other questions and I have no idea if the ideas and questions I just pitched even made a lick of sense. -
Welp Kudos, to Quki, Shato, N'velhi and uhhh Kestrel, for that wonderful adventure on Ramona. Hoping those five get to travel Eorzea again becauseShatoneedssomethingfromthemorother.

"Ugh I need to update my character's Wiki"
Kurt S. replied to Berrod Armstrong's topic in RP Discussion
All these updates to pages and here I am still figuring out the wikis for my other characters. Finally got around to updating Kat's wiki....but then I realized that arc is coming to an end soonish and then I'll need to ctrlF all the "she" to replace with "he" then rework a few things, replace "Kat" with "Kurt", edit shit, add shtuff to the wiki, recap.....yeah I dont feel like updating the wiki anytime soon. -amateur tsun mode on- I-it's not like I want you guys to read it or anything. -amateur tsun mode off- -
I can't speak for everyone else but I probably misread the tone of your post and interpreted all this excited and anxious energy as enthusiasm. I'll infect you with my excess enthusiasm if have to as well. You're new blood and this community tends to help out the new blood when we can. Yes even new blood like me will try to help. So how rich is your character...does he know any brilliant get gil quick schemes? I'll also drop this little tidbit from one noob to another. If you're shy about jumping in just send that person a tell. /tell *player name* Hello can I join in your conversation? Or Hello, can I perhaps interest you in some RP? or here's a magic tell /tell Kurt Steel Hey you there why are you a woman? /tell to win, Ludger Kresnik /tell to win. The characters just standing there just as shy as you are or simply winding down, or looking for a quick spot of RP. OOC communication is sometimes important too and if you managed to churn out this thread then I have full confidence you can pull off OOC communication too. JOO CAN DOO EET
