The spur of the moment: So I decided to do something to maybe motivate me to try and unlock at least the HM Roulette and that means doing all dem HM's at least once right? So me, in my sleep lacking state, decided "Hey lets go buy two bottles of fantasia and drain the last of my christmas money. One bottle to start this up and another to finish it." Premise is this: Kurt got back after following a lead Nako had on the Wanderer's Palace. Thing is the lead only lead to meager treasure as Treasure Hunters probably already got there first. Now in his lack of preparedness, and over reliance on a intelligent yet taxed healer, he forgot to bring his own supply of potions. Now on the way back to the exit, they got jumped by a group of shank-wielding tonberries, the smaller ones that they easily dispatched but ended up landing a few good shanks at Kurt anyway. He hobbled along, lagging behind the rest of the group before he tripped at something that his boot snagged. It was bottle of dark blue liquid, thinking it was a potion of an older make, he uncapped the bottle and downed the contents. Of course, he never felt any different and wounds still stung. For healer's part, his face was that of shock and awe and panic rolled into one. After a few seconds of tense silence as Kurt and the healer engaged in a staring contest the healer finally spoke. That wasn't a normal healing potion. It was a rare brew that supposedly changed the drinker when they go to sleep for the night. Of course, knowing this Kurt did his best to regurgitate the potion to no success. The damage was done. The healer realized it too late, he also looked shifty so since then he decided not to sleep at all. But now his willpower is fading, his eyes are getting heavier and no amount of pain or otherwise can keep him awake.... His only solace is that he already has a list of places to investigate in the hopes that he might find another of this rare brew and by Nymeia's guiding hand, hopefully return him to what he once was. What I'm planning: Well I'm trying to do a string of IC dungeon runs of all the HM's. It'll be my first time for a majority of em so if you're lacking soldieries(though I highly doubt it) or something this might be a good opportunity for you. Don't worry if your character doesn't know Kurt we can easily rectify that. I can dumb it down to search ruins for that rare damned bottle of fantasia. For reference, Kurt is a tank but premade parties don't really need to follow the 1/1/2 rule right? Also your character doesn't necessarily have to stick around for the entirety of this arc. If you want say, just swing by Stone Vigil and then leave sure, I'm fine with that. Well that's even assuming anyone is interested in this crazy idea Other Stuffs: -I haven't unlocked all of the HM's yet and level 50 dungeons, still not sure what I'm missing. -Kurt's only got i80 gear so yeah, he(she?) might not be prepared for all of em yet. -Of course if we aren't exactly a 4 man party (unless there are 8 man instances out there) I don't plan to IC the run then. Gotta take into consideration other players and all. -As for the times that we can meet up and do this, I'll keep that open for discussion and wake up early/sleep late/not sleep at all if I have to. -If you're interested but not level 50 yet, I can wait. I've got Keil and Alicen to level anyway.

An FC makes it easier to find RPs as well even get sucked into existing storylines really...But that's just speculation on my part . I assume though, I'm also on the same boat as you, I just can't seem to eat my nervousness and apply to an FC via the forums so you're not alone there. But a Link Shell works just as fine as an FC too. I'm also on the same boat with regards to lore but then there's that player Sounsy(ssy?), she's your go to person if you want to learn lore, really. Anyways welcome! Since I prolly missed your hello thread or something

Yatagahn Trading Consortium Grand Opening!
Kurt S. replied to Aduu Avagnar's topic in Chronicled Events
A bar night? Same time or do I hafta show up earlier? Hopefully it'll be the same time since Kurt will be at someone else's wedding earlier that same day. -
One of these days I'll ask for one, but it is not this day! (Scraping the bottom of the barrel with Kurt as it is v.v)

-disintegrates from the Nawekho'linesss(read as nako'liness)- see what I did there? Sorry 6am brain demands it of me T_T

Ah seems I'm not alone with that problem too. I think it is more hardware related that server related, take from a guy who, at NA prime hours has to log in, suffer lag and dc before the lag disappears or eases up. Now I've tried both wired and wireless keyboards. If it is wired, just try to reconnect the thing to the ps4 and try to keep the cable straight as much as you can but that problem rarely happens on wired. The wireless is more or less the same but the trick there is to make sure your keyboard is pointing at the usb dongle connected to the ps4. Like try to be in front of the thing as much as possible. Now as for the UI hiding and screenshotting, I guess I'll have to experiment more with the ps4 controls to see what button combo does what. But that'll be after class in 5 and a half hours from the time of this post. In case you didn't know you could go pseudo mouse mode with your touch pad. Made some things easier like navigating several windows without clicking the touch pad, just glide your fingers and tap. But bomb throwing, key item use, etc is still crazy awkward. *is filthy non-legacy pleb*

Any other people wanna meet with a catguy who has a lot of issues but tries to be snarky or at least clever about it?
-
Y'know you could have asked me about the PS4 controls seeing as I'm on the ps4 almost 50% of the time I'm playing . Though my advice would be to get a USB keyboard, any USB keyboard to streamline the typing. Oh yeah fun fact, in case you didn't know, circle strafing on the ps4 is easier than on a pc. Target an enemy and click the left stick and you'll automatically lock on to it/him/her, move stick left and right to circle around him and forward and backward to close the gap or make some distance. Take note this is the backpedal thing, so you're walking backwards which might make it hard for you to avoid those radial AOEs. Still I find it useful on all three of my characters, Keil/Kurt/Alicen. Another thing you might not know is that if you move forward and tap L1 you'll autorun in that direction. Whereas if you hold down L1 and move the right stick you can zoom in or out of your character. It's helped me type out responses for Alice whenever she's strolling Thanalan/ La Noscea with *Boyfriend.* Want to tag or mark enemies? Target them then click square to open up a small list of things you could do with it. Of course the list also appears when targeting allies or objects. Need to emote quickly without having to go options>right>social>emote? That's the way to go, but is also moot if you have a keyboard since you can probably type /whatever faster than square>emote>select emote. I'll try to see what other somewhat useless tidbits of information I can gleam from playing on the PS4. Of course, someone's probably already taught you this.

No said anything about being romantically involved right? Ehuehuehuehue. Ladies and gentlemen! I present to you the adventure of the Snark Lord and her Glorified Packmule. Otherwise known as Red and Blue. Commemorative Day 1 photo. ONWARD TO OUTER LA NOSCEA! "So hey, what kind of mind warping crystal was I supposed to touch again? That one? Alright!" "So uhh, a dozen golems? Seriously? Too easy, I'll even let you have first blood, Adeya." "...was that a veiled insult or a layered one?" Me and my shitty photography skills.

"B-but boss I want to shoot lazors from my eyes too!"
-
Welp might as well. Here we find Alicen relaxing at the Coin and Coffer...because she's too broke to afford the Quick Sand...no joke. (current amt of gil: 0, I swear I need to start killing marmots with her. Because *boyfriend* has her travelling around eorzea and no way of making recouping the travel costs.) Someone told Kurt to come here. Needless to say he waited for hours on end, but hey he's got a nice view to look at while waiting (he gave up at the 6 hour mark). Oh yeah, Xiaoli, this is his outfit for your wedding. Enjoy. Finally we have Keil...who has yet to be IC...like at all. I haven't been paying attention to him so he's glaring at this brazier. (I'm sorry, I'll pay more attention to him because I kinda sorta signed him up for the Valentione date thing. Hue.)
-
Ah yes, I'd never really knew about that but wouldn't Kurt give him a severe case of the light migraine with all the craziness and crazy concepts he's got about gentlemen.
-
Okay the title speaks for itself. Kurt's trying to be a gentleman and wants to find a mentor for it. How does one be a gentleman? I mean thanks to Adeya Evenar he has a coatee which he dyed Dalamud Red as is his color scheme (okay so maybe Colibri Pink at times). He's got the dress pants. He's gonna shave the chin hair soon and he has learned the Manderville dance through someone who had been deemed worthy by the Mandervilles. Now why is he becoming a gentleman? Because he wants to of course. He has heard tales that gentlemen can shoot beams of light from their eyes so intense that they disintegrate whatever they shoot that beam at. That gentlemen are able to teleport at will to any place. That gentlemen have sleek, black chocobos that are refined to a capital REFINED. That one day he would be a gentleman warrior! Yeah I just wanted to put something ridiculously light hearted for him since the more I play him the more I realize how stressed he is with trying to make amends with his lady as well as doing whatever he can to protect the Vorgan family daughter on top of keeping himself on his toes for the YTC and trying to make sense of the arcanima (because Tatyana Vorgan and Soleil Bajiri and magickuuu) by way of being subtly insulted. It's like he's slowly cracking you know? That and I kinda want a some lulz. *Requirements: Not necessarily a real gentleman. In fact with the right amount of persuasion (speechcraft 1 minimum) doesn't even have to be male.*

Keil Amalle: Too curious Alicen Heller: Commits quickly

Kudos to Atoline for helping Keil run the first three dungeons before the emergency maint kicked in!

Well life's starting to hit me again so I'll post a list of times that I'm on for uhh anyone interested. I'll try to convert it all to EST. Sunday- Any time before 11am or 11pm onward! Monday- 6 to 9pm! Tuesday- 11pm onward! Wednesday- 2am onward! Thursday- 6 to 9pm! Friday- 2am onward! Sat- Whole day give or take! I swear to god I converted those right but hey here's the GMT+8 times: Monday- Any time after 12 noon. Tuesday- Any time before 10:30am or after 3pm. Wednesday - Any time after 12 noon Thursday- Any time after 3pm. Friday - Any time before 10:30am or after 3pm. Saturday and Sunday - Any time. Of course I could try to stretch my times, just send me a PM here and I'll see what I can do. Need me to go to your 4pm wedding? No problem! I can wake up 4 in the morning to prep Kurt/Ali/Keil for it!

I'll try to set people up with similar availabilities, but there are no set times for the dates; it'll just be when both can be online! Your character's name: Keil Amalle Your character's race: Seeker Your character's gender: Male A bit about your character: -He's got a curious head on him. Literally nothing is boring to him, you'll always solicit some reaction from him. -He has an interest in using the lance. -He has a lot of respect for those who help others. -He's got that fear of other miqo'te..dun matter if you're keeper or seeker he wasn't taught the difference but he did internalize the fact that catguys and catgirls might just feed him to the nearest oversized insect. Currently trying to brave this fear. *A bit about what your character seeks in a potential date (please include any gender/race preference): Well if they're a catgirl they'll probably have to be a little patient with his very shifty nature. Can't be too careful, now we dunno when a gigantic sandworm might just burst out of the walls. Otherwise as long as she's female, he's fine with it. Since nothing is boring to him. -No this is not just him trying to make a new friend, okay so maybe it is- EDIT: Also if she's adventurous that'd be nice. Gives him companionship on the road to 50! Which day(s) will you be available (Feb 13, 14, or 15): 13th- any time before 12 noon, if not that then 8pm onwards. 14th- Same as the above 15th- No go. *EST Based*

The Vent Tent - Poor PuGs and Other Terrible Tales
Kurt S. replied to Gegenji's topic in FFXIV Discussion
/vent=1 Might as well get this out of my system. Why does SE hate new players? I don't get it. Why the flying fuck am I always supposed to tank for toxic dps bitches who probably don't keep an eye on the aggro markers on the side of the screen? I mean you're already ilevel3digits, I get that but do you not check your combos in relation to the aggro markers? You know..blue, yellow, orange, and red? Then you start hating on me because apparently exhausting my TP doing nothing but Butcher's Block and an occassional overpower/steel cyclone with defiance on 24/7 can only struggle to keep the aggro on me while you guys go and spam high damage shit then die seconds later then tell me I shud git gud? Doesnt stop at that because apparently you need to kick me off the run too(I've only gotten Wanderer's Palace and Tam-tara HM so far and it's happened twice in each dungeon). Like oh I dunno either before the final boss or after the first frikkin mob. After I got Bravura(A MILLION TIMES THANK YOU NAKO'LI for helping me do Titan and Garuda as well as Cliodhna for the advice on getting soldieries without having to meet toxic groups 24/7) I can still only barely keep up with the hate maintenance because SE will still bunch me up with people who prolly dont realize that guy wearing a donated wolfram set and a bravura only scratches the i80 mark. Seriously SE why am I paired with i120-i150s? Actually no, prolly my fault for being a generally new player. This is really just blunting any real desire to the 50 content though. Way to go SE...way to fucken go. Kinda just wanna wear the pink wolfram set and just do /mdance in the Quicksand. I know, people are like that in any game and I'm probably just having bad luck with the DF. This'll probably blow over soon I guess. /vent=0 -
I would act out everything but for Kurt alone so imma edit this later, for now I'll list it all down. - Finally get a house on the Mist, a small house on the Mist. - Help make Nako'li Chalahko the kingpin of the Ul'dahn markets, thereby making the YTC a strong name in the circles of trade, acquisition and redistribution of goods. - Help Lady Xiaoli Vorgan solve the current issues surrounding Tatyana Vorgan. Like all of them get an axe to the head. - Finally propose to his girl. - Mastery in the way of the warrior so as not to shame that certain Hellsguard tribe. - Mastery of the arcanima so he can finally prove Adeya Evenar wrong. - Open up his own restaurant in Limsa or Ul'dah or both. - Mastery in the art of cooking, woodworking and weaving. - Become a gentleman. (still needs outfit and pose)
-
Welp if you guys are interested or anything: losg890
-
Kudos to Nako'li Chalahko for single handedly restoring my faith in the level 50 community because reasons, I'll probably vent it out later in the tent. As well as help me get Bravura! I owe you a shitload man, really do. Kudos to Cliodhna Eoghan as well for that interesting conversation in tells, helped me rationalize what I was doing with Alicen without feeling so vaguely homosexual. Not that there is anything wrong with that or that I have anything against it. Finally, to Xiaoli Vorgan for further pulling Kurt into that hugeass family feud. Really I don't mind and I find it interesting! Hope to see if she'll really hire on Kurt. I am sorry Nako, I should have run this through with you but Kurt's got a personal IC stake in this now. v.v
