Welcome! I'd say definitely try out Balmung or Gilgamesh. In my opinion, there does appear to be a stronger RP presence in those servers than in any other. Again, just my opinion.... Definitely utilize the forums here for your FC search, that's for sure, and hopefully you'll find one that perks your interest. Sweet! Hope you continue to have fun then! =)

Hello and welcome! It's okay, eventually, you'll find that you'll manage even with all the nervousness and such. Just keep an eye out for opportunities like at the Quicksand in Ul'dath and then just utilize that 20 seconds of insane bravery~ ...Or just ask through PM if its alright to join/to start an rp... There's that too X3 "May the path in the light of the crystal" be filled with many memories and experiences!

Um I think I screw reply to post up . I'm so not familiar with this. I know how you feel too. I always hoping someone would approach me but at the same time I kept thinking maybe that person just approach me just to be nice. I get so many negative thoughts despite my exterior. I learn how to hide my anxieties well and that gives me a poker face. (which helps me a lot in my first time playing Poker . They thought they could win off a newbie but with my poker face, they have no clue what my hand is. So I end up winning 100 bucks!) I have very few RL friends but they're the best friends who would have my back. I believe it's better to have few true friends than having multiple casual friends. Sadly while I know I can count on my friends to help me in need, they don't share the same interests as me. I love RP. I love RPGS. So playing FFXIV on this server that combined two of my favorites? I'm just beyond ecstatic. I can finally feel like I'm starting my life. Hence the title of this thread lol. As for the screenshots, I'm trying to figure out how to zoom into the face and use that as my avatar. I'm also trying to figure out how to post picture here on the forum. Um okay, I have no idea how to quote multiple people ! I'm trying to click "Quote this" but it's not working for me. I'm just gonna copy and past from another web page. Never mind, copying and paste doesn't work for me either ! I'm so forum illiterate. I'll just do this the good old fashioned way. The idea is just to click on "Quote this post" once for each, then trust that you did it right and just click "Post Reply" at the bottom... It's a little unnerving, I don't blame you X3 Hehe..... Yo, that's good to hear man. Well I'm sure you'll develop some connections here ingame...Some that you may even consider as close as well. I do agree on the whole better to have few close friends than having so many casual one... Albeit, not so bad but the key, here, is just having those you're close to among the many friends... Which I'm sure that you'll make X3 Kudos for RP and RPGs FTW~ Eh... Your best bet would be to try to zoom into your character as close as you can... But I don't believe you can get it to your face... Not to my knowledge at least.

Right?! I neglected to point that out but I recognized the possible reference to the series as well! X3

How would your character React In Real-Life.
Ligardian Dreamer replied to Duskwright's topic in RP Discussion
I imagine, right away, that my characters would be bored... There isn't much excitement except for parties and, well, some other stuff.... What kind? I don't know, I don't go out that much. >w<; But if I were in the world of Eorzea..... Ooooooooooh my gob..... -
balmung LF Faithful of Menphina, Bards, and like Ilk

Ooo~ Sorry that I can't be of much help but can't wait for the event though! -
Wow... I Gus you're right. Well like I said, I would intently or nonintently go for those groan-inducing puns.... But I do my best not to do it excessively.... Is that so about your fourth character? Eh, that's Au Ra-ight with me. Also, I bet that new race has an Aura based thing about them.
-
Wait, I got it >w<; Hard Heal - Let them know how much you really want them alive... or Hard Knock life -or- Knock'em a'live! - Use pebbles or rocks to bring them back to life.

Welcome! Hope you'll find those rps that you're looking for! "May the path in the light of the crystal" be filled with many memories and experiences!

I see ><; You might not be alone there, it's just me who often doesn't keep track of who is behind the character or the voice of the character.

Hi and welcome! I don't blame you... Right?! It does feel intimating, at first, feeling like the greenhorn among royalty and the high-class here... except that they'd assure you not to feel that way, believe me >w<; But no, I'm still not entirely savvy with the lore but I'm both learning little by little and it doesn't impede me from getting rps too! (Course, I'd want more rps from more people but bleh XP ) You just learn what you can, find what you could grasp onto to go with, and you can develop yourself on the go! Getting yourself integrated may take time (such as getting the idea on how things go and the like), but, eventually, you'll find a grove to ride along on =3 "May the path in the light of the crystal" be filled with many memories and experiences!

I've seen the whole LOTR trilogy and The Hobbit movies too but I'm the type who's not savvy about the actor that plays the character, you get what I mean? >w<; It's likely just me who wouldn't recognize such things right away until it's spelled clearly in front of me.

If you're just quoting one person, there's a little thing under their post where, if you hover over it, you'll see one bit that says, "Quote this in a reply" and another that says "quote this" or something like that..... The latter is used when you're quoting multiple people. So, in your case of quoting multiple people, just click the + like if you're queuing them up... and then if you click "Post reply" afterwards, you'll see if it works if you see that there's more than one quote shown on your message draft. Anyway, don't let it take away your drive to learn about the lore though! It definitely would help to be in the known of some things =3 I hear ya about the shy thing... I, too, would prefer to be approached because I'm kinda insecure over the idea that I'm just an uninterested person and that they only accept the approach just to be nice.... I mean I'm 100% sure that no one in the game is like that! I'm sure they'll genuinely accept the approach and even welcome it too! It's just that's one of the kind of anxieties that I gotta deal and fight with ><; Hehe... But you seem particularly liked here considering how many people responded to you so I'm sure that you'll be just fine >X3 You can leave private messages here to people even if they're offline. As for saving logs of your rp; if you're talking ingame, you have to manually do so unfortunately... What I had to do was to go to an inn room, enlarge the chat window, and just copy and paste the messages onto a word document (the game doesn't give the satisfaction of allowing you to auto-scroll as you're highlighting though so be prepare to have to divide up what you copy and paste and do your best to keep track of where you left off as you scroll down the convo window >w<; ) Post screenshots? Uhh, in game, there's the printscreen button to take a snapshot. The source of the screenshots you take, from there, should be somewhere in your game folder (I don't remember the directory but when you go to the game folder for FFXIV, there should be a folder that says Screenshots.... FYI, you can go adjust certain settings so that you can pick another location on where the screenshots will be saved and stored for your convenience).

Ah-ha! I get it.... Ugh, it seems I'm getting punned rather than giving back but... I only made this post mainly for the "See you Blader" bit... ><;;; I'm losing my touch.... or my sense in this case... Who's John Rhys Davies?

The more the growing Gladiator achieved further into his duties, the more that doubt and anxiety creep into him. Even as success would be reaped in his path, Alexander succumbed into his angst. Briefly, he came across an armor that forced him to cover his face despite his preference to let his face be shown and known to all. Nonetheless, he wore it even though he couldn't quite project his voice well under the helm... So, during a mission with the Cerulean Vigil to infiltrate an Amalj'aa encampment, Alexander spoke little due to both his helm situation and his angst. However, though the mission was a success, he felt that he could've done more. A moment had occurred where the party leader leading the infiltration had requested him to act... To which the Midlander Hyur failed to accomplish. Though he was not blamed nor claimed to not have done his part... He knew that he could be so much better.... He had allowed his emotions to cloud his judgement... His allies are, certainly well-off enough that they are capable enough to do what must be done... But what if his hesitation were to cost the mission severely? What if his faltering could be what caused an operation to fall apart, especially if the consequences involved the loss of a life or two? He can't afford that... He had to get stronger... With or without anyone... Continuing with his duties, he gained admission to the Order of the Twin Adders Grand Company and acquired his own Chocobo mount. He was more moved with this grand company, compared to the others, due to the emphasis of harmony and the desire to work together as one... So when the Gladiator finally became a Paladin... He understood what Sigrunne told him... He must allow himself to trust in his allies... And so, in turn, he will do what he can... so that others may come to trust him... and to secure that trust. And he will gained what he can, as a Paladin, to obtain the means to fight and protect those that he cares and loves...

Ah, I see that now. I saw the thread floating around but I never did bothered to check it until now >w< Heh, you're not the only punster then... X3
-
This thread is brought to you by the Dreamer who loves wordplay... What if there was a hero/heroine who's move names are puns?... Such as: See you Blader! or Fangs for nothing! -or- Fangs for your death! For those who like to support: Gator Aid - A healing move & Power Aid - A buff move And for you gunners out there: Cocky Shot as well as Shot through the heart! or Bad Name Bullet What other pun-filled move names can you gun up with? ((....Ugggh... I am so not funny, I'm sorry... But I like making corny, groan-inducing, face-palmable jokes, sue me... TT^TT ))
