1. I think it's pretty funny that I can scroll through the older posts in this thread and (cringe) see how much I've progress with my art. I've been on this forum forever! This is still a WIP, but my progress has been halted due to a recent move. Jacq with her impossible cheekbones and lopsided smile!
2. Oho, I like your style a lot. Keep up the great work!
3. I've been slowly (and I mean fucking slowly) working my way through Leviathan's Wake by James S.A. Corey, and it's been one of my favorite books in a long time. I'd say it's nior detective story meets political space drama. The writer has a real flair for writing out things believably even down to stupid things that you honestly wouldn't think twice about. For example, there's this bit about how Belters (those being the people who work/live on an asteroid belt) tend to have their own physical idioms, due to the need to be able to communicate while wearing space suits. It's simple, but I'm glad for the attention to detail. ...Also, apparently it's a TV show now? Damn, I am out of the loop.
4. Jacq got matches and... Britain? Uh... hm. The matches would at least make sense with who she hangs around with. Not sure what to make of the other one, though.
5. Hi. I still do art sometimes! My Roe Beatric has always been a bit of a deep sea witch, but has since over the years gotten more and more odd, and therefor much more entertaining to draw.
6. Hi there! I'm just kind of passively watching this thread, but something came up that got me kind of curious: Why make a post about something if you're only expecting to find an echo chamber/have people give you a gold star (via rep points) for having like minded opinions? I thought the point in a lot of these discussions were to hear different view points? That this was the main draw for communicating with people?
7. It's been ages since I worked with Isaac and Beatric. They're honestly some of my favorite characters to play with. But, given the direction of the game, they just sort of... lost their place. Honestly, they're better suited in a sandbox where building things is more of an option. In the mean time, they're still alive in Skype RP. So, anyway, I figured I might as well do a update to their appearances. It's been AGES since I've drawn them properly. ...And I'd be lying if I said the old images didn't make me gag a little when I look at them. I feel like I've come pretty far. To be fair, it has been a couple of years since the original concepts. On a more personal note, I'm really trying to push myself to get back into drawing a lot more regularly. I let too much stuff get in my way, and it really fucks with my confidence levels. I honestly miss using this place to connect with other artists and encourage each other. I had a real good experience when I first started posting art frequently. Hopefully I can garnish something like that again. ...Right. So. Starting off, we have an updated Isaac. Isaac The Tower. Isaac The Heartless. Isaac... whatever title Beatric decides to make up for him next. Now with righteous facial hair!
8. Trying to avoid a description with these two, as the whole point of this exercise is to express the characters without any lyrics. So, uh... HERE WE GOOO. Jacq: Beatric:

Hey, dude! Good to hear from you again. Are you around in game again? We'll have to catch up at some point.
10. Quietly reading this thread and I'm not sure what you mean by this. Could I get some clarification? Are you referring to the OP as someone who wants to start trouble, or...? I'm not quite sure what you're trying to convey here.
11. Rude. Welcome back, person!
12. Yes! I want a Japanese war club, for knocking Lalafells out of the park. This is... everything I never knew I wanted. Beautiful. Amazing. Worst game if it never gets implemented.
13. I'll admit, when I was a wee tot I went to ACEN and cosplayed for a good solid 5 years, I think. I had a great cosplay partner at the time that would constantly try to push my boundaries because we had a bit of a competitive relationship. She'd pull out some crazy, so of course, I had to do something even better. My favorite and last costume was a heavily styled Amano Freya Crescent. The amount of tiny details I ended up working onto it was crazy. I look at pictures of it now and wonder how I managed it. AND I actually sculpted the helmet out of chicken, hot glue and some kind of velvet fabric. My fingers were sore for daaaays. I'd probably like to get back into it at some point. Costume making is really a lot of, and I only just started working on props at the end of my cosplay stay. I have big dreams of some day doing a full on Sister of Battle.
14. Hella cute! I also love how thin and wispy your lines are. Keep up the great work!
15. Yeah, it's not at all a casual part of a person's cadence of fucking speech or anything. On firearms: Lominsa seems to have some kind of open-bolt repeating rifle on their wall in that thundersticks place. Which leads me to wonder where exactly Eorzea is in it's firearms development. Yeah. I think there are definitely a lot of options available for a larger array of firearms, and even suggestions of such dotted around the world. But honestly, I think the creators would be hard pressed to actually implement them. The gunner class was a stretch to begin with, and they had to make it some kind of engineering class, as welll? It couldn't just had been about shooting people. MUH IMMERSION.
16. Hi. I'm kind of passingly reading this thread. Interested in the topic, but this! stood out to me Does... Does it need to be stated that all fantasy material is largely based off of real life concepts, and typically considered bad form when it strays too far outside of the laws of reality? Just because it's actually done in a video game doesn't automatically mean it's a good idea. And just because it's being done in the MMO that you're currently RPing in, doesn't mean you're forced to adhere to those crazy stupid fantasy laws. I know I don't. :> Anyway, on topic. If we're talking classes, I'd really like to see Blue Mage in at some point. Done in a way that doesn't absolutely blow hard. Don't really care so much about the weapon of choice, but more the ability set to learn and master abilities from other monsters and shit. Could be a cool idea, right? Totally was in FFXI. But, you reeeeally had to work for that shit, and it was rewarding as hell. If they implemented it in FFXIV, they'd really have to reconsider how their class quest structure is done. Less... "I'll hold your hand and just give you everything, just cause." mentality. Weapons wise, I'd like a wider array of firearms, I think. Hand Canons? Flame throwers? Bolt action rifles? I dunno. I just think with the progress the world has made, we could afford to take a couple more steps forward with our weaponry. Also, FUCK. Obviously said to sound more civil!
17. ...Two in one day. Color me as shocked as the rest of you. Now, hear me out before you take a look at this, because I'm going to admit something: I totally love beefcake. Man, woman, everything under the sun. I don't give a flying fuck. ...So, this admission leads me to the piece right here. Practice with muscles, anatomy, continuing to draw out sweet tats, and just get more of Jacq drawn out. Many birds with one very large stone. Anyway, NSFW 'cause... tits, I guess. [spoil][/spoil]
18. New icon of Jacq! I really wanted to try a different style here. I ended up stumbling across some more Mignola art and figured I might as well give it a go. Hellboy has always had a huge influence on my art, anyway, so better that I just fucking roll with it. It kind of took on a life of its own, anyway. I'm digging these textured shadows. Might end up using them some more.
19. Jacq is going to be somewhat curious, but largely neutral on the whole thing. In her lack of experience with the world, she pretty much assumes that there's a lot of places and races out there that she has yet to actually see for herself. There's going to be a lot of confusion on how they actually work, biologically, though. Those horns are RIGHT on the temples. Give that shit a good shove and you've got yourself an easy kill.
20. Baw, these are lovely! I especially love Orum's particular face structure. He's got this connecting forehead to nose thing going on that you typically only see with Roe. And those long, drawn out features? Yaas. Keep up the great work!
21. I can pretty much mirror this mentality. I think this place is great for trying to get yourself out there and finding something that specifically meets your needs/wants as an RPer, but the desire to be wanted by ...everyone on this huge community is not only bizarre, but literally unobtainable. There are SO many people on this site and active in game. You're not going to get along with everyone. Not everyone is going to like you. There's no way of forcing friendship through just being nice or agreeable. The best that you can hope for is just continuing to do what you enjoy, put yourself out there and hope that you manage to stumble across people that are up your alley, instead of trying to cater to the lowest common denominator. Like, uh... tossing your line out in The Quicksand, for example.
22. Okay... Thanks for that fine contribution, I guess? I'm not really sure what the point of this post was other than to jump on the train of people saying they don't re-use characters for their MMOs. I mean, it's fine if you don't. But at least everyone else gave two shits enough to actually contribute to the thread itself in their own way.
23. More Star Citizen art! I promise some day I'll get around to actually drawing out my FFXIV character... I'm just having way too much fun with space ships, cigars, and cybernetics right now. ...Also, I totally learned about welding specifically to RP this character better. /nerd.

I'd like to note, that took place in Nanawa mines in 1.0 and that shit just got straight up removed in 2.0. It's totally canon that Misericorde blew it up.
