Ah! I guess I should have been more clear! I am sorry! No offense taken! I kinda thought they where an oddity living in hiding for the most part. (Except for Papa Rokuyari's employer they kinda stayed in the background.) When she was performing she was just thought to have worn a costume of sorts. Suna actually hasn't seen any of her kind until recently, which was a happy surprise to her. I will actually go and amend this in her profile. Thank you! Ahh yes that makes sense. And infact that's who a lot of people went about introducing their "Oh I was An Au Ra the whole time" stories. Which thanks to the way SE just randomly threw them into the game world, it was really the only way to incorporate them in. You should have no problem with the way you've written your backstory. I thank you so much for your critique It helps me become a better role player! May I ask you advice sometime as well? Sure, but I may not be able to help as well as many others here on the forum. I have to seek council myself as well but will be more than happy to help with what I do know, or at least point you to some topics where it's been discussed.

I actually have a lot of insecurities when it comes to roleplaying. A fact that surprises me because I do not really have any at all outside of said roleplay. The whole idea behind roleplaying makes me nervous and I often question if it's something that is even for me. When I do actually roleplay I have a million questions and thoughts going threw my head. Am I doing this right? Is my character interesting enough? Am I interrupting this person? Oh God, they para rp and I'm struggling to think of interesting replies. "Why have they not answered my /tells for rp the last few days? Am I boring to them? Do they not like me OOC? That person is really popular on the RPC, they'd have no time for me. *sigh* Man that list just goes on & on. These questions usually cause me to re-roll my characters into something that I hope is more interesting. But even doing that has had a real negative effect on my roleplay, of which is a different topic for a different time. Last night I got to roleplay with 2 people from the forums here. One of which I consider to be a very good OOC friend. And, even roleplaying with her makes me anxious that I will do something dumb or stupid and be looked down upon for it even though I know she'd never do that. But for some stupid reason, the fear is still there. Oh man, where did all this honesty come from!?

Try making it into Gilgamesh and check out the Gilgamesh-rp website. Ya made a toon there since I figured it would be good to at least see some pve content. Didn't even know there was any real RP stuff going on there. Always sounded like a joke when I seen post about it. Thanks for the info will look into it. It's really quite when compared to Balmung, yes. However it's the 2nd largest RP server so it's a good 2nd choice.

Are you open to a bit of critiquing advice? If so...... It's my understanding that the Auri have only just arrived/have been discovered recently. So that being said, the game then goes into saying that the Kha tribe, has actively sought out other non Auri people. So it's kind of a grey area, but you may have a harder time convincing most people that a Au Ra family has been living in Ul'dah for that long, much less employed at a place as prominent as the Golden Saucer. Just providing a bit of lore friendly advice is all! Hope you have fun with the game! :thumbsup:

Servers are back up. If Balmung was open, it was for less than 15 seconds, at least on my end. Logged in, FFXIV was not accessible. Immediately exited launcher, relaunched, servers were up. immediately loaded pre-made character, licked yes through everything else. Choose a name I had pre-choosen and Balmung was closed already.

I remember back in the day when that would say you were number 350 and backing out and trying a 2ND time would put you right in.

Actually... I don't think they are 'crowded' but simply locked... and this is a good thing. Have you been on a regular server and started getting spam tells for gold sellers? ads in say, shout, etc? Random friend and FC invites? If not, just wait, because you will. On the locked servers? Nope. We are FREE from spam!! (Aside from the occasional person/fc) Frankly, to me that's worth $18. I can use my tells, don't have to be in /busy for some peace and quiet. I wish there was a free way to keep out the goldsellers, but alas.. there is not. THIS^^^ I started on Jenova and was getting tells from goldsellers approximately every five minutes (I actually timed it once because I was so irritated). The random friend/FC invites were a pain too. I have only gotten one tell from a goldseller since I transferred to Balmung, and that happened right after the server went down recently. So trust me, it's a good thing that Balmung is always locked. It seems that Jenova in particular is pretty bad. It used to be the server I'd roll alts before transferring them over, but the amount of goldsellers over there, it's not worth it. I, for one, will be happy if it is never unlocked.
