"I see, well having ties to Ishgard is reason enough for us to look over our racial differences as I'm sure we have both already considered them *he would let out a soft chuckle before continuing....Well I've only arrived fo......" he stops upon being interrupted "Oh hello there" he responded, looking up to the approaching Miqo'te, studying her intently wondering where she came from. He ponders her question before slowly replying. "In fact, I'm not entirely sure where we currently are, I simply followed the river upstream, so apart from telling you travel downstream, I am a bit lost myself. Perhaps our friend here knows the way" he needs at the Au Ra fishing on the bank -
I understand that issues may be raised over that, especially with those who don't know me, but the fact was that I left the community rather suddenly and had been very depressed before hand, and there may have been a few members who may have assumed the worst. Maybe it's wrong of me to do so, but I feel obliged to openly apologise (and explain what happened)... if it's at the expense of my personal image, then so be it. Am I being naive? Maybe. Also on another note, thanks to those who have replied so far x3 Like I said, just my personal advice. And I'm sure you will find the community has changed much since 2 years ago as I've already noticed a change form when I joined not to awful long ago. Welcome back into the RP world!

Can I offer some advice?? I would completely edit out that 4th paragraph. What happens in the past happens, leave it in the past and do not present it to the future. I believe everyone would accept you better if that tidbit was left out. For me it was an instant red flag. My opinion, feel free to ignore it. That being said, Welcome back!

I would think it would be more widely accepted depending on the location. For instance, I view Ul'dah as a scum of a city, there's rundown alleyways and crime all over the place. Though upper class dancers may be present in Ul'dah, I think they would be the exception. Limsa I would view having the 2nd largest sex worker attendance, with Gridania being the least. And these are all just my personal opinions.

I think this is what turns people off lalafell is the stereotype of Popotos and such. I feel a lot of lalafell players arnt taken seriously and dont rp at all and so as a rper of another race you dont see many. A shining example of Lalafell done right would be Gus Pumpkinweed. I've never RPed with Pumpkinweed but have seen him rp before. I agree with Berrod that he is well played, but I would not choose him as the role model of a serious Lala. As far as being taken seriously, you chose one of the "out" races who resemble small children. Most of the Lala rpers I've seen have actually made their characters seem a bit immature, which is fine. So not only do you have a character resemble a small child, but then you have people playing the stereotype and pretty soon they have a universal reputation to all the other races. There are exceptions to this, but from what I've witnessed, it would be pretty rare.

"Yes you would be correct, Ishgard blood through and through, as my Fathers before me" he replies with a nod of his head as the man shows the badge to him "I know a way around a pole, but never had the experience to do so in Gridania, this being my 1st time to this part of Eorzea. I doubt I will have much free time after today seeing as I'm headed back tomorrow." He sat down and leaned back against the tall tree closing his eyes he tilted his head to the sky, basking in the remaining rays of the sun that was filtering thru the trees. "This forest is a far cry from Ishgard" he pauses as if deep in thought before continuing "So what brings you out here, is the fishing that good or are the just passing thru?" -
Halo kinda did for me what Call of Duty has know been guilty of. Each game just feels like a re-skin of the last. I'm not ever sure what I would do to change it up, but I guess with the sales from both of those franchises, I'm in the minority.

Dacein was currently wandering around the Shroud, taking in the sites and sounds of the forest. He paused and closed his eyes for a moment, inhaled deeply, the smell of the damp soil and the scented smell of wild flowers filled his nostrils, a gentle breeze fluttered the dark hair hanging down in front of his forehead. The wind whisked around loose threads of the casual shirt he was sporting, the breeze ever so gently causing the sword at his side to sway slightly. It was not that he was expecting trouble, but being new to the area he thought it best to take precautions. "This forest is almost therapeutic" he mumbles to himself. He thinks back to the previous nights encounter with the young Elezen woman he had met with the previous night, a soft smile spreads across his face "I'm assuming her offer to show me the sites have no been revoked" he chuckled softly. With a quick shake of his head he shook the memory of her from his mind and reflected back at his flight on the airship earlier that morning had been cancelled, freeing his time for all that day and into the next morning. He would open his eyes and stroll further into the forest where he would encounter a small river and follow it upstream to see where it led. I hadn't gone far when he spotted the Au Ra fishing on the back. He stopped in his tracks and studied the man. Au Ra and Ishgardians were usually not that friendly towards each other, and even he himself were not that found of them. Still though, the man was fishing and that was something Dacein very much enjoyed doing. Cautiously he would approach the man, walking loud enough to alert the man of his presence before raising a hand slowly as to show no ill will and would speak "Hello Sir, have we any luck today?" he would then unbuckle the sword and lean it against the rugged trunk of a tall tree, it was there if he needed it, but hopefully disarming himself would set the man at ease of being approached by a foreigner. -

Wow I must admit that is way more thought out than what I do, I create my characters appearance, then stare at them for the next 2 hours repeating names in my head until one seems to suit them

Was just thinking how awesome it would be if hair sliders were a thing. Could make hair longer shorter, ponytails longer, thicker. Etc. Would be awesome... -
Well welcome to the RP world!

I realize that there was a certain level of understanding between what the OP wrote, and what the meant to say. That being said, even if it wasn't a misunderstanding the only thinking would of cautioned against was it happening so fast. Bad mistakes get made that way. And then there was the "friends say it's love" statement.... I have no issue at all if you feel for someone, we're humans and we like to know that someone has feelings for us, amd to us having feelings for them. It's just tricky in an RP setting because my character could totally be head over heel in love with yours, and I may not even like you OOC. That's why everyone is saying this is hard to answer.

The fact that you are on the internet contradicts this. Heeh. I had a marketing professor in college that said once that ppl who say that persuasion through media holds no power over them are typically the ones who are persuaded the most because they feel that the choices they have been subtly guided to are their own  Straight white American gun loving Republican who will vote for Donald Trump. How else may I prove you wrong today? [...] Did not mean to offend. Like I said, it was what a professor in college lectured on once - not an opinion i conjured up myself just to contradict you. Still, I'm not certain how claiming any of those things can be used as empirical evidence that you are impervious to media suggestion. It was a jok, I was not offended in any way:) And for instance, because everyone is all "ohhhhh guns are bad" owning a gun would prove that media does not have a hold of me. But everything was meant in joking

I know the WoL is a big no-no for regular RP, but I have thought it would be fun to RP with say another friend as in you both was WoL. Kinda like you two vs the world kinda thing. Infact if anyone ever wanted to do this, I'd be so on board and sign up immediately!
