As another poster mentioned, Sharlayans are already giving sentience/sapience to in animate objects such as brooms and animals such as Frogs (Porogos) Cu Sith is another such creature. I would say that it's very possible to employ such methods on weapons ... however, weapons used in combat is another thing entirely. Since there have only been a handful of such weapons. There are other methods that can give weapons a consciousness: Sealing a creature in it is one thing, kind of. In 1.0 an Elemental was seal within a CNJ staff. Voidsent can be sealed within different objects, too.

I guess the Xaela tribes will vary significantly on worship due to how diverse they are. I know the Dalamiq tribe worship Dalamud at one point. Otherwise not much in know about the Dawn/Dusk worship. It also seems that Domans don't worship the 12 either and have their own particular belief systems

In addition to their weird proportions, Elezen males -to me- run so awkwardly. There weren't too many of them before and I am sure many Elezen males switched to Au Ra, so now their numbers dwindled a bit

It depends, if they are truly heretics then they probably would not want to be rescued and will join/try to join Iceheart and others for safety. In any case, I think being able to use a flying chocobo might be a possibility that could be explored

I wouldn't say that the RP there is dead, it's just not nearly as populated with RPers as Balmung is. With that said, Gilgamesh is probably the 2nd best server for RP especially since it's alot easier to create characters than Balmung. As other's have said, the RP is alot more private and is within other's house, FCs and LS.

If Othard is a reflection of feudal Japan (or close to it) then I'd imagine the social class structure will be somewhat similar.

I might switch to a Roe eventually, body proportion aside, I just don't like how small their head looks like relative to their body

Gridanians Greenwrath upon you!

Can you RP evil Dark Knight and have it lore friendly?
myahele replied to Branson Thorne's topic in RP Discussion
I don't see why not? What you do with that power is up to you, so being "evil" is possible and being a DRK is possible. What's important is how well you control the darkness within you. Just like losing control of your inner beast for WAR is bad, the same can be said. Although I do wonder if your power will be greatly reduced since you're pretty much uninhibited and doing whatever you want? -
While we're on the subject of Poaching and Greenwrath, we also have to keep in mind that the Seedseers and Padjals all do their best to pacify/calm down angry elementals. In fact, the Senna siblings all have a yearly (?) ritually to pacify The Great One and if left unchecked, huge portions of the Shroud will succumb to it's wrath. So while everyone over-hunts and logs Gridanian have to pretty much clean up after their mess. Or else.

I'll add what I know None is mentioned, but being nocturnal and hunters, I'd imagine their clothing to blend in with the dark environment: nothing bright and probably earth tones (dark greens/brown) and black. Traditionally, Keepers are hunters. Its what they do in order to survive, but it's also a rite of passage. It's a conflict because for many centuries the Gridanians have been following the rules of the Elementals: don't take more than you need from the forest. The thing is, Seekers are doing just that with their hunting and that's bad news for the Gridanians because once an Elemental is fed up EVERYONE in the forest will be killed. The Elementals are weak now, but they were very much a threat prior to the Calamity. In other words, the Shroud belongs to the Elementals. It's just fairly recently that more and more keepers are moving into Gridania and are assimilating into their culture. I can't say for sure about each clan's size, but it at least seem as if each clan have a relatively friendly or neutral relationship with each other. Even if they're not related or of the same clan they still refer to each other as "sister" and won't actively kill another seeker unless they're a lost cause (ARC story line?) Deep shroud, I take it. The farther away from Gridanian settlements the better; there is a coerlclaw(?) settlement on the outer edge of Camp Tranquil, near the Thanalan border. It doesn't seem that way. They welcome the occasional male, but it seems as if they don't get along well for extended periods of time. But that seems to be how both sexes prefer it since it's very "unnatural" for there to be monogomous type of relationship with a male seeker and probably vice-versa. They don't strike me as xenophobic and we see plenty seeker npcs; though I'd imagine they're very protective of each other, especially in Seeker settlements (wherever they are). ARC questline revolves a seeker in Gridania vs a seeker poaching clan Moogle Quest "The past is a story we never tell"

It's possible, but very rare these days for an Elemental to physically manifest itself to help a cnj/whm ... but it does happen if you did the level 25 CNJ quest: An elemental pop up in the background to help you defeat corrupted sprites (?) It's pushing it, but I suppose it's possible to call forth an Elemental *if* they want to help. Elemental are all individuals with wills of their own, so you have to be very good friends with one. Otherwise, summoning different types Voidsent and binding them to your bidding is alot more common practice.

"long of ear" used to refer to male elezens ear, implying the size of their genitals. Typically used in Ishgard, but it might be a common phrase among elzens Ex: "Oh he's quite handsome and long of ear as well!"

I think a nice glistening scale/horn is look favourably within Auri culture, just like having good good skin, hair and nails are viewed highly in most of our real-life culture. How they care for them is the question. I think they probably use using to get rid of dead/molting scales like a hard bristle brush or pumice and then apply lotion, oil or whatever that makes things shiny The upkeep of scales/horns might be more common amongst the Raen due to living in Doma and being in positions of authority whereas only a select few Xaela tribes can or capable of caring for their scales

Is politely correcting someone's grammar/spelling offensive? Why?
myahele replied to LadyRochester's topic in RP Discussion
as other's have said, who care if there's some minor spelling or grammatical error. Whether it's may I or can I? Or the missus of there, they're or their; it does not matter since you know what they mean. I supposed you can RP as someone like that, but the other person must know and/or agree to be corrected. I've seen such character's on TV and they can be quite hilarious if done right -
I'd imagine hitting an Au Ra's horn with a hard object will be worse than having a megaphone blasted on your ears. I'm sure touching an Au Ra's horn is a big non no in terms of cross-cultural exchanges

Brown nosing Lalafel pervert!

I'm pretty sure if the Ishgardians weren't fighting Dragons that they'd end up fighting and/or invading Girdania for it's fertile lands. Culturally, they're kinda the same in that they're both isolationist, but I think there's been some mentions (in 1.0) that Ishgardians would go into Gridanian lands to cut down trees/ poach.

With Limsa's connection to foreign nations outside of Eorzea. I wonder if the pirates/slavers ship them off there? In either case, it seems like there's alot of illegal sex slavery.

I'm quite interested in where humans fit in their social structure? I somehow doubt they're granted noble status beyond a Knight or notable merchants. From what I gather it's the 4 great houses > minor houses > Knights/Merchants >>>> Low Born

I always wanted something more "tribal" Before reading up on Ala Mhigo, i always thought that they're more of a tribal folk that lived in very sunny/ hot areas because most Ala Mhigans I saw were tanned and blond. In fact they almost reminded me of the Karayan clan of Suikoden: Luckily there seems to be atleast 1 gear set in heavensward, but for DoW.

I always wanted light-armored mage atire:

Alot of people think that Shiva's lover was actually a dragon, but what if it was actually a Dragoon? The 1st Dragoon, Haldrath, to be exact. Its basically a tale to 2 lovers torn apart due to differences of belief. Haldrath with Ishgard and Shiva with the Dravanians. It seems that peace/ truce was achieved, but was quickly broken

So miqo'te and maybe the other spoken races existed since the 1st astral era

When it comes to armor, most DRG gear is unique in that it's medium armor. Tanks wear heavy armor other dps wear light armor, whereas DRG/Lancers are somewhere in the middle. But as other's have said, when it comes to npcs there are plenty of sword and board Ishgardian Knights throughout Coerthas
