Um, Ala Mhigo fell at least 15 years ago, which means it's at least 1572 according to the official calendar. The Empire moving again in 1571 is referring to the start of their current push. :roll: Also, there is no time travel in Final Fantasy X. >_>

One thing to keep in mind is, even if you don't like the idea of your character being sent forward in terms of roleplay, you can still keep the actual character. If we're getting the chance to change our looks (and race), it's entirely possible for there to be different individuals in the future who share the same name. It's not at all unusual for names to run in a family and so forth. Also, I don't think the entirety of Eorzea will be killed by Dalamud. After all, there's got to be survivors who can rebuild and bring forth the future generations. Those getting sent forward by Louisioux are the ones in Mor Dhona, I guess, where its coming down hardest. Oh, and, the skip might be fairly short. If it's 15 years or less, I'll definitely have Rhostel left behind. Maybe even up to 20.

Do you want some actual critique and instruction in artistic principles? Because I can give plenty, but only if you're totally open and willing to accept your shortcomings. I mean, you really, really need to be sure you can be humble, because I've had experience trying to help people who weren't and it was a waste of everyone's time. Not that I'm saying your drawing is the worst abomination ever or anything, just that you're missing a lot of fundamentals.

So I read this. Guess I better rework the citizenship stuff. Maybe something about her deciding to work towards earning citizenship. Better alter her listed citizenship to Ala Mhigan.

Any thoughts? Maybe something in the colours of Ul'dah's crest, but featuring an emblem with particular resonance for something in the family's early history? Here's a quick list of potential subjects I could pick out: Mining equipment, flames, the Soulfire Apparatus, a star (representing their connection to House Felstar). Actually, I could combine them all, using a stylised mining pick with detailed engravings reminiscent of the Apparatus, surrounded by flames and with a small star as a minor detail.

No, not 'See you in game maybe.'. For that to be a reference to that it'd have to be something like 'Hey, I just read your post, and this is crazy, but here's my in-game name, /tell me maybe.' Anything less is too obtuse because that's just how people speak. 'Guess who's back... back again...' <- That's the reference. It's got a very particular cadence going on.

I can adjust Cartius, no probs. It's mostly unintended side-effect of trying to show his age. I think thickening his neck at the back slightly should do wonders. In fact, I know it does because I just did so and it has. Just gonna refine the pencils a little and fix/add some detail and they should be ready for colours. Fortunately the official art style uses really flat colours, so that's easy. Oh, by the way, does the House have a crest? If you've got one, I'd like to put it on Julius' shoulder. If not, I can work with you on one.

My style is pretty different (and I'm not fond of colouring), but I could give it a crack. Small portraits like the existing ones are pretty quick to crank out. Actually, if you want to keep a unified look, I can probably redraw all of them. As a bonus, my style is a lot closer to the official promotional/concept art for the game than what you've got. But that's something to think about after I do the ones you're missing. :jump:

Oh, yeah. I took that into account, though I thought it was closer to one and a half years currently. Anyway, she would have turned 18 last 5th Astral Moon* (September?), making her about two when Ala Mhigo fell. In other words, a toddler. *I guess her 17th birthday was during the headstart period back in 2010, assuming a straight conversion of dates, even though the Eorzean calendar is slightly longer than our Earth one. There's just no simple way to fit the dates otherwise. Sucks for people who picked any of those 6 days that simply don't exist at all in our calendar, but what can you do?

Just got up a preliminary wiki page for Rhostel. I'm pretty fuzzy on a lot of the lore, so I was hoping someone who knows more might be able to take a look through and see if it's okay. For example, the timeline of Ala Mhigan refugees arriving in Thanalan. The way some NPCs talk it seems like they may have only been there a few years, but those NPCs tend to be Ul'dahn elitists. But it's been 15 (16 now?) years since the invasion and while some might be more recent arrivals the Ala Mhigans do seem pretty well settled in, if impoverished. Also, the Wood Wailers stuff. It seems like a valid interpretation of how they interact with adventurers, but maybe I'm wrong.

Yeah. When I disconnected almost instantly after getting back in, I figured I should just turn everything off and step away for a little while. Then RL stuff happened and by the time I got back you were gone and everything worked fine thereafter. *sigh*

What, a class modelled on Cloud Strife and Celes Chere (not to mention jobs in FFV and the FF Tactics series, also kinda sorta Adelbert Steiner) is too obscure for you? Probably when they crunched numbers to find out this.

I could see it as an alternate Job for Gladiators requiring level 15 in Thaumaturge and barring the use of shields? Also, Rune Fencer is basically Rune Knight which is basically the same as Mystic Knight, kinda.

Me too! In the meantime I've been figuring out Rhostel's identity, and starting to draw her. Just an anatomy sketch, because I really don't have any RP gear for her yet. That's important, though, because as a Highlander and a fighter she's much bigger and stronger than her ingame model.
