  1. Kerr, you're welcome so long as you put forth the best effort you can, whatever the circumstances of why you can't do more. Anyway, I've quietly extended the deadline to see if we could get a few more participants, but this is just about as far as I can take it to be fair to the time needed to get this done. In twelve hours from the time of this post, I will be taking the names of those who have volunteered in this thread, and making the assignments. This is the last chance to get in! It's also time to post your descriptions and links for the character(s) you'd like to see drawn.
  2. I just wanna say, we need more lady Highlanders! But a male Miqo'te is fine too. Oh, and welcome!
  3. Couple of corrections! He did actually participate in that battle and that trio remembered him later. That's how the Echo works: You do actually go into the past, you just can't do anything that changes the present in a substantial manner. (On the plus side, you also can't be killed.) That's why, for example, when you first join the Path of the Twelve in 1.0 Minfilia knows you just used the Echo, because she suddenly remembers you appearing in her office a few hours earlier.
  4. Only a few days left to sign up! Please, don't think you're not good enough. This is for everyone who takes part in the RPC!
  5. *cough* Here's the actual link: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/58629
  6. Someone should show Yoshi-P the Aurin of WildStar. Granted, there's not much to be seen of the males yet, and they don't all have bunny ears, but still!
  7. Excellent! Since we're getting a good amount of interest quite quickly, how about I set the participation application deadline to the 7th? That gives a good amount of time to put together character descriptions and assemble links to reference images (post them in this thread!) and heaps of time to work on your picture to get it in by the 25th.
  8. I have to admit, I'm stealing this idea from another community I was in a few years ago. It's exactly what it says on the tin: People who want to participate submit a character description (or offer multiple if they want to give a choice), I use random.org to assign each participant another person whose character they will draw to the best of their ability (possibly with a Christmas theme) and you send them to me by the 25th so I can post them all up at once. There's no skill requirement for this. So long as you're trying, that's all that matters. It doesn't even have to be a drawing; if there's some other visual art you feel more comfortable with, that's fine too! Well, I'm gonna say no Poser or Daz3d stuff, unless you've got some real skills and original assets. It might look a tiny bit better than stick figures, but it has about as much heart as posing action figures if you only know the basics. This is all about putting heart into it, not looking good!
  9. The links don't actually work because the forum just pops out a view frame for the pictures instead. That said, through the magic of the Quote button I have extracted them for you! http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/thre ... post902071 http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/thre ... post902105 http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/thre ... post905245
  10. *peeks in* Um. I guess I'm gonna do this too sometimes. Here. It's probably gonna be the least porny of the lot, sadly.
  11. ...Yyyyyes. Let us do this thing.
  12. I only just figured out how to make my infobox picture not have junk text around it. Though now it's been expanded to fit the frame size so it's become a little pixellated looking. *sigh* So, I'm not gonna be helpful.
  13. Hey, look! Sometimes I do keep drawing stuff after posting a rough. [spoil] Finishing though, that takes a while. >_>[/spoil]
  14. I'm not uninstalling until I get into testing/ARR launches. I'm keeping a version of this game on my computer even if it's useless!
  15. ? Maaaaybe I should get my name changed to Rhostel?
  16. Welcome aboard! I'm likewise playing GW2 for now, but while I like it a lot, I don't love it. I've loved Final Fantasy for a long time now, and since my other MMO love, City of Heroes, is only a few days from shutdown, ARR is what I'm most looking forward to. Uh, this right here has a rough rundown of the main story since the start of the game, and there's further information and links to more thorough sources in the comments.
  17. Thank you! I didn't do much, but at least it's another year that I'm not dead.

    Osu

Oh man. I guess you missed the opportunity to become a Legacy member. :\ Still, hope you have fun in the new version with the rest of us, when it ARRives! (Get it? ARRives? Genius!)
  19. Hi there! Hope to meet your character(s) when ARR comes!
  20. I sympathise, strongly. Thankfully, YouTube can help you and I fill in the gaps! You know, when I get around to it.

    Hello all!

Well, PUG would also be a good class to base a Gambler type job on, what with to their guild being the premier gambling house in Eorzea. If they went that way, Musketeer wouldn't be leading to the FFXI style Corsair, and gunners in other FF games don't really have a strong enough mechanical identity to base a Job. Well, not one that stands out as particularly viable for XIV. On the other hand, the Musketeer's guild are the law in Limsa Lominsa. Thief would be alarmingly incongruous with that.

    Hello all!

My money is on Thief as an alternate Job for Pugilist. I mean, yeah, Gladiators get daggers, but they're totally unsuitable otherwise. On the other hand, PUG would also be good for Ninja. :|a

    Hello all!

Hi! We're a little quiet, but that's mostly because we're getting our randomlolBS out over Skype. There's a thread here about it. It's also a great way of organising RP stuff with other players in preparation for ARR.
  24. It's a bit fuzzy, because there's been a lot of changes since launch. While there's plenty more changes for ARR, it doesn't seem it'll be an entirely different game from when it shut down. But from when it launched? Yeah, there's next to nothing that will not be changing. And, actually, the story has been changed too. Not that there's retcons, just that they've gone in a rather different direction with what was established initially than the original team's plans.
