How likely is it that I need to grind ilevel 90 gear in advance to start Heavensward content? It seems silly that new players coming to the game in the future will have to grind gear from tomes and duty finder at level 50 before being able to complete access expansion content. Everyone keeps saying you will NEED to get i-level 90 gear in advance to finish the main story and play expansion content, but couldn't they give out basic i90 gear from newly added level 50 main story quests? I don't know, it seems like a strange design choice, and as someone who came back to the game as a level 47, I hate the idea of buying the expansion, then having to grind for a few weeks to meet the gear requirement to play that content.

Poll: Au Ra and your character, what will you do?
Xavieraux Reinardes replied to Blue's topic in RP Discussion
My current character, a Miqote, currently has a Elezan name. I've always loved dragons and dragon-kin in every rpg since forever and hate making alts, so I'll probably be changing over to an Au Ra. Either way, my character was already adopted by Elezan parents so the name sticks, and since it's likely they would be good with magic, perhaps through their assistance my character uses a glamour on himself to look shorter, make the horns look like ears, and the tale look more catlike, get all Animorphs up in here. -
Walk-up Roleplay Advice.
Xavieraux Reinardes replied to Xavieraux Reinardes's topic in RP Discussion
Firstly, thanks for the advice everyone has given so far. As to why I would want to, the answer is practice and to actually roleplay, I've roleplayed in forums and MMOs a lot before, but it has been a long time, I'm out of practice. In addition, I don't want to just up and join a Linkshell or Free Company all willy-nilly. Even if I did I don't necessarily know what I want me character to be. If you don't do roleplay through walkups/tell messages, how do you set up roleplay, is it on forums, through your guild? If so, what did you do before you were in a guild, was it exclusively with friends you made through the game? how did you make those friends? These are questions I'm trying to find answers for. -
I've always been really bad at starting walk-up roleplay, it just seems strange and like there is no good way to start it. What are your strategies?
-
I'm pretty rusty on roleplay and walking up to someone and "just starting roleplaying" feels awkward, I don't know if there is a good way to start that randomly. If anyone wants to start a roleplay with my character, Xavieraux Reinardes, I'd love to do so. Regardless of where it would be and in what context. I'm just looking for friends/experience to get back into the swing of things.

Oh, Orphans as well, I don't know why but my character's parents are always dead or missing. I blame Disney. -

A really, really nice hat! And so very patient with me when I completely space who he is, and that I've met him before.. and raided with him before!! Not to mention an excellent host Her signature rhymes nicely! -
Been listening to this since the season final aired. 48jt_lWA7W0 Her voice actor/the person singing is Estelle, who you might know from this (also excellent) popular hit from a few years back. Ic5vxw3eijY

Happy-go-lucky characters and sadists. This is what happens when you watch too much 90's anime. Goku/Monkey D. Luffy and Prince Diamond/Dio Brando have corrupted my role-player sensibilities. -

Bastion was published by WBIE. Transistor was Supergiant only. * * * I never said it wasn't. -

The one that bugs me the most: Dennis fucking Dydack. The name ain't very familiar, what he did again? Googled, still not a clue. Too Human, also in the making of that game he used Unreal Engine 3 without paying royalties. Later on he sued Epic Games for "Failure to provide a working game engine" and was counter-sued for the reason above. -

Watching bad anime while drunk. Edit: Actually, I don't know if I have any pleasures I'm guilty about, eh. -
Video Games, Quality thereof and You

I do have to note however one thing. Not always the Dev/Artistic Director is right. Shaylaman, John Karmack, and George Lucas were given full liberty to his movies/daikatana/starwars prequels. And we all know what happened. Not everyone is a Kojima. Right, and as you mention, you also have your Quentin Tarantino, your Kojima your Christopher Nolan. Of course the director/dev won't always be right. I guess I just feel very differently about video games. I think the industry overall is getting much much better, it still has a long ways to go but change is happening. Again, yes there are tons of trash indie games, but there are tons of classics as well. I would actually argue that as a medium, more "quality video games" (games that for one reason or another someone will really love or enjoy) are made annually than a decade ago. You have a lot of sexists coming out of the woodwork and harassing female gamedevs and anyone that complains about sexism in the industry, but at least people are starting to complain and make these criticisms of the industry now, and change is happening in response to them. Gone Home, easily one of my favorite games of the decade, would not have existed ten years ago for a number of reasons. -

I actually have a very positive view of the future of games, but I think it's not in (most) triple A studios. Examples being the rebirth of the mid-high range studio as exemplified in CDProjekt, CCP, and Paradox, as well as the rise of indies/rebirth of "garage video game development" as seen in Limbo, Titan Souls, Bastion/Transistor, and of course the occasional kickstarter game such as Pillars of Eternity and Wasteland 2. Tools will continue to get better and easier for independent teams, now many game engines and toolkits such as Unreal Engine 4 are making cheaper models for indie developers to use the engine. AAA gaming development will always exist just as AAA movies will always exist, but 90% of the time the better/more meaningful stuff is going to come from lesser known studios, or games with much smaller budgets than the triple-A games. Just like how most of the best movies every year tend to be independent films, or artistic directors given a budget and free range with that budget. -

x_X Biting the new people. :dazed: Welcome aboard! I know there's quite a few people here from GW2 and I use to play WoW for many years on Moon Guard then on Wyrmrest Accord I also enjoy cooking so please to share any recipes with us that would help us avid RPers as we spend a lot of time thinking of stories and/or loitering. Thanks a ton, I spent a lot of time in RP guilds in Moon Guard a long time ago. Quick Cooking tips: Chicken Breasts are an easy to store and healthy protein source, marinating them in Italian dressing will make them extra moist post-cooking. Mixing spices or other stuff into burger meat will make it extra delicious I like a bit of garlic, maybe some chives. Good guacamole is easy to make, especially since Avocado growing/harvesting season is starting so they are going to get a lot cheaper. Also, Avocados can be frozen for about four to five months. So in August/September as the seasons starts to end, if you want guacamole all year round; buy, puree, then freeze those avocados and you'll be able to mitigate the cost of making guac outside of avocado season. Even when in season it's a good idea to do this if you see a big sale/discount on avocados. -
Rest In Peace: Konami Edition.
Xavieraux Reinardes replied to Mercer's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
As much as I was looking forward to Silent Hills I'm hopeful that this will actually give those properties a chance to be put under new ownership. Suikoden in particular needs a revival. Heck yes it does! I've been waiting for a new Suikoden for such a long time it seems. It's the only series I care about from them at this time because amazingly enough I have never touched a Silent Hills, Castlevania or MGS game. I'm probably missing out on it but thats too bad, I was actually considering trying out Silent Hills because that PT was scary, it made me cry. I did play the Ninja Turtles game from them though and I too really enjoyed that one back when I had the SNES. So, main issue is that Konami has been delisted from the New York Stock Exchange, which already looks bad. On top of that from unofficial rumors it sounds like a lot of Kojima's studio is being let go. A large majority portion of Konami's profit is made off of pachinko in japan and gambling-type machines, so if you ask me this is all very bad. There's be a recent revival of groups trying to legalize gambling in Japan, and in addition there have been some rumblings about a new large mobile division in Konami. In my opinion all this signals is Metal Gear Homebase: a Metal Gear themed Clash of Clans, and maybe a Silent Hill Slot Machine, or other ridiculous and kind of sad things. Try to think of what Konami has put out internationally in the last half decade, it's gone down quite a bit. -

Let's talk about Valve new addiction to the Workshop
Xavieraux Reinardes replied to Desu Nee's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
I do think mod-makers should be compensated for their work, and that a simple donation button is never going to let modmakers make a living off of their mods. However this was the wrong way to do it for a number of reasons, I honestly didn't think valve would back down, as they have a tendency to not back down from their decisions, so this was very surprising to me. -

I'm may be just a simple quack surgeon with an imaginary license in putting band-aids on and hoping for the best, but I think that might be unsanitary. Also I don't think my blood tastes good, unless you like the taste of slightly coppery water.
