Heya, My character is currently 34 (Not including the time skip.) and while I agree that the majority of people I have met are in the late teens-20's range I have encountered a few in the 32-38 range, but no one higher so far. (Though age doesn't come up often.) Until some contrary lore is released i'm treating him as 'middle aged'. I enjoy the "experienced, but still exploring" mentality, like the older Elezen male with his healer companion found outside the first three dungeons. While Quarimar isn't strictly "Upper Crust" he does a fair bit of Goldsmithing work for people in Ul'dah and it isn't inconceivable that he might have fulfilled a commission or had a piece noticed related to the lady. Just ideas, I find the idea of "High society" interesting. Cheers, Edit: And yes, I consider it as the start of middle aged, he's not crotchety, just feels the chill more keenly and his vision problems have worsen.

Some one else playing Project Diva? marvelous! I'm mostly playing Europa Universalis 4, or working through alternate routes in old visual novels. was playing Fire Emblem FE, but wrapped that up pretty recently. Oh, and the latest Harvest Moon for the 3ds has been keeping me entertained while wandering through the day.

Hmm I would suggest the adventurers guild in the major cities, there's usually one or two people sitting at tables. Taverns at camps are usually a good place as well. Like Magellan said feel free to ask more questions, if you can narrow down the type of character/type of RP you're looking for it would be a bit easier to make suggestions. You can also check out the "Linkshells" listed on the menu band above, sorted by server there are quite a few with different goals/environments. Feel free to send a message, hope to see you in Eorzea.

Wonderfull Papalymo and Yda sketch, they're some of my favorite NPC's though I hardly ever venture into Gridania. Not to ham-handedly broach the topic, but have you considered doing commissions on https://artistsnclients.com/ ? or perhaps even on this forum itself, i'm having a terrible time trying to find someone willing to do Chocobos and yours are rather expressive. Either way, keep up the good work!

Well feel free to message me if you do, i'm GMT-7 (mountain time) Good luck and good hunting! /salute

Hiya, I like the idea of starting with a class you're training in and then using the secondary ones as supplement or OOC play, but that's besides the point. Don't worry about being short of people on Gilgamesh, while I primarily play on Balmung since its where I played in 1.0 I still have an alt on Gilgy to stop by and visit. There are plenty there (not sure how much you've check out the forums, but both servers have their own character directory.) and they have their own Linkshell hall with a Dozen listed groups. Feel free to ask any questions, take a break, have a kit-kat, the usual. Hope to see you in Eorzea.

Howdy, i'm not super familiar with Gilgamesh, but most mid range level taverns seems to have 1-2 people usually. Costa De Sol is a popular place, as is the area outside Camp Horizon. I'd suggest checking in with a Linkshell or two and going from there. Feel free to ask more questions. Addendum: Main cities, are also quite popular, little out of the way areas can be teeming with people (notably the Ampitheatre and the pool in old Gridania.)

Jumping on the Bandwagon. I have a key for Crusader Kings 2 http://store.steampowered.com/app/203770/ That I don't need (already have it) if anyone wants it. Feel free to send me a Steam invite (My ACC name is Olofantur there as well.) it counts as an "Item" so i'll gift it to who ever desires it.

a "Kneel" would be great. a "sleep" would be nice, though "doze" is handy. But you don't even lie down, we dont have any lying down emote.. Chairs/Benches? The Hobo RP is strong with me.

Thank you very much for the clarification Kylin /bow

Nothing official that I know of. I was under the assumption that housing purchase had neither to do with your City starting state, nor your Grand Company allegiance. (In part because during the Grand Company quests they state that you'll be able to change what company you re with and because I imagine A Free company founded by a member of Gridania but aligned to Limsa would be peeved having to offer up ownership to purchase the house and switch back.) Of course I wouldn't put all my hopes in such, but I don't think that will be the case, so far Yoshi-p has been pretty open about what limitations will be included when selecting something unalterable in the past. Side note, Are you familiar with Fantasia? I'm not, but if its like the reset at phase 4 you'd be able to change your starting city that way if the worst does occur. I'll admit i'm fortunate in liking Ul'dah and having it as my home since I re-rolled in 1.0 so I don't know much about cross region accessibility.

I'd love to say 2.2, but perhaps it will be wrapped up with 2.3 along with the Gold Saucer? 2.1 seems to look at a combination Primals/Raid/Quest/PvP 2.2 More Primal possibly Gilgamesh and some Freecompany end-game tweaking 2.3 Will perhaps address more-quality of life? Of course the [speculation] flag is loud and proud, but I would also argue that like the Alpha providing exclusively the Shroud and Gridania, The "Mists" are likely as much as a demo as a release. seeing how the function works, how the people respond/interact. What they didn't think of, what they under-estimated etc. I really want my home in Thanalan though

Hey hey now, I'm not sure how copacetic you are to the idea, but I don't discriminate towards our more fun-sized friends. Stick it out! or try to breach the subject, people change, heck my opinion of Lala's was the equivalent of "lol gnomes" in 1.0 but a few good players and Momodi had me dancing to their tune soon enough!

Good find, The F'Lahminn one was more recent so it was easy to find that, but I hadn't been able to find the one you linked for a while. Thanks for the hunting.

There is actually a dev post on the old Lodestone forums (that I can't for the life of me find right now) that confirms that interracial breeding is possible, just very rare. That's why you don't see it in game. Certainly interclan breeding is possible (per the dev post providing possible explanations for F'lhaminn). http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/61222-F-lhaminn?p=980189&viewfull=1#post980189 here's the dev post about F'lhaminn, certainly an interesting character during 1.0

I enjoy the idea of some one with a profession who feels the deep desire to be better. Attending the Cold Moon Gala event in character I asked peoples thoughts on some Raisins I had brought from Thanalan remarking that I has spiced them to remove the tartness found in grapes originating in the more barren lands. Suffice to say the response was unsatisfactory... BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD!

Not a Gilgamesh-er myself, but welcome none the less! I am a connoisseur of the baking delights as well, both in game and out. Hope to see you around, and bust of luck with the fluff-monster.

Greetings! I can't really speak for PS3 playability, while i've observed some players they weren't interested in typing and spoke insularly over a shared Ventrillo. For testing your computer you can get the official benchmark at http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/benchmark/ Let me know if you need any more info, looks like you've already got some responses. Hope to see you on Balmung.

For Linkpearls i've played it as a sort of Bluetooth style ear piece, for my character he has "his" gifted to him by Momodi during 1.0 (the original quest line had you talking to her over it.) To which he attunes any further connections except when expressly told other wise. (Such as the Cold Moon Gala.) where he took his primary one out (RP'd telling everyone I would be off-comm for a personal event.) and placed the Event shell in until it finished, then swapping it out. To each their own though, this is mostly to address the personal/impersonal treatment of things IC. Plumbing- I presume and through some quests suppose it has a fairly basic existence in Limsa Lominsa and Ul'dah, (fountains ect.). I think there might be some basic water diversion and engineering in Gridania (the water wheels outside the INN.) but the intended purpose beyond perhaps prevent flooding is beyond me. Travel- I RP both my mounts (2xChoc's and Gobbue) and Aether transportation, I have mused on the nature of aether passes within city states (is it like an Oyster card from London that you can just swipe along the crystal to tap into it?). To the Larger Crystals in major encampments. I'm unsure how to justify the toll, the trouble of splitting the fee between the departure point and the destination still makes me consider the idea that its in place of some reagent instead of a direct toll. Electricity- I've seen it an choose to interpret the situation as Gas/steam era (Gas appearing in Limsa, where Goblin technologies and homes appear to have steam-esque contraptions with valves/gauges/pressure plates.) In day to to day use? I imagine the average person has little access to that kind of technology outside of lamps, even the ovens in Thanalan appear to be wood burning with large smoke stacks. But we're adventurers! I don't think its out of the realm of possibility that upon stumbling through alchemy for a level or two you realize you could as easily replace the Alembic with a funnel to hold coffee and pour water through. (at least thats what I do with my equivalent tea, much to the dismay of a Lalafell friend who often comments on the odd after taste.)

Interesting topic, I have had similar conversations, although mine we're more focused on the Undead and blood elves being the two I played during my time there. A-1: Are there any any races you particularly love the opposite (or same) gender of? The models, the history, the lore, anything. I am fond of a few of the races, (in particular) Roegadyn, Elezen, and Lalafell. Though for different reasons, the Roegadyn I find charming in the same way as Taurens/Trolls, they just seem like interesting people even if I haven't met them yet. The bluster or brashness of their character can be endearing. Elezen are the kind of "Formal" beauty I appreciate like Renaissance portraits, Regal is another fitting word I suppose from their Lore to their NPCs, I enjoy depicting or discovering the small maneuvers that come with making your character perceived as "better". Lalafell i'm fond of in another matter, they look (to me) like a duality, a soft/calm/child-like exterior beguiling a capacity for great/devious/excitable demeanor. I'm interested in the gap between expected and actual. I'll admit though that a large part of it is Momodi, who was very pleasant in 1.0 and coloured my view of them. A-2. How do you view interracial couples in -game-? Specifically, let's not get into a debate about whether or not it's 'gross' to you as a person or if there are too many people doing it. I tend to not think much of it from an OCC perspective, i've only roleplayed heavily in two MMO's and they both had a fair amount of it in different groups, so long it is something that can be addressed if it comes up I don't pay it much mind. A-3. Do your OOC feelings towards a particular race make you more open or affect what your character is looking for when they're either flirting around, pursuing romance, or just, in general, acting differently towards those individuals. My OCC did a bit tailor my original character development early in 1.0, but I found that through Roleplaying my OCC opinion was changes as well, particularly surrounding Lalafells, at first I treated Momodi and Lalai as exceptions. Though after meeting players and even more characters I've found them some of the most engaging and engaged persons in the realm. B-1. Does your character seek friends or partners based predominantly on race? He's more willing to become acquaintances will fellow Duskwight, then Non-Wildwood/Hyur, then Hyur, then Wildwood. After the initial acquaintance, and a few meetings or actions together he usually becomes more receptive to queries or conversation from others. B-2. How does your character view interracial pairings and are their feelings different from your own? It depends on the Pairing and the people, his Father was a bit of a romantic so he does try to feel happy for peoples who have found some one to spend time with, but offhandedly dismisses some of the more casual relationships. To a point he often feels sorry for persons who have to be reserved around each other due to outside pressure, and faintly disgusted with those who flaunt their "difference" a "shut up and enjoy it" stance essentially. Hmm, I could talk about this for hours but i'll stop now, thanks for the brain food!

Welcome to the show! Feel free to look around, take a cookie, all the fun stuff. Hope to see you on Balmung soon! A note about "Anima" thats a great game! I particularly love the Tarot Cards, I never got "Tower" right side up, I only hunted him with "Reverse." Have you run many campaigns with them? they're a lot of fun I think. Best of luck out there.

Fun times, I enjoy Divine spell casters, Though I often Go paladin since many of the groups i'm in usually have a healer already, I enjoy the support role. Make sure to use those Encounter powers! heh~

Welcome to the Show! Like Bloodtruffle said its nice to see multi-media role play, I was/am a huge DnD and Forum roleplay nerd so its cool to see others who dabble. Hope to see you in Eorzea.

I enjoyed the PvP environment but was unable to find enjoyable communities there. Mammoths, were rather large in retrospect.. I remember feeling dwarfed by them.
