  1. Jade Physically: -Super long hair (including super long beards, to him that's gross) -Uncleanliness -Overly bright colors -Men with no bodyhair at all Mentally: -People asking too many questions -Holier-than-thou attitudes (a lot rooted in his upbringing in Ishgard) -Refusal to do something for just yourself Nekhii Physically: -very small body types (even if he rejected the violence he still maintains the Horo ideals of the body) -he finds most Lalafell creepy (except Papashan, Nanamo, and a few other exceptions) -Ornate clothes Mentally: -People that condone violence -Selfishness -Being swift to judge (If these two ever met they would probably hate each other especially because Jade tends to hold his selfishness as a positive thing and Nekhii is altruistic and a bit holier-than-thou because of it. In writing this up I realized that they're near polar opposites.)
  2. Jade has some base knowledge about using a lance from living in Ishgard but he's more comfortable carrying around knives for his work. Nekhii is more complex because I'm a sucker for sad stuff.
  3. The only reason why I got into Balmung after HW is because I shelled out the $18 to transfer my character. However, last night I downloaded the newest update ASAP, went on 45 mins before maint was scheduled to be over and managed to make a character on Gilgamesh. A few nights before me and my friend were waiting so he could get into Balmung and it still wasn't up and Gilgamesh closed for new characters after the first refresh. Just watch it super, super closely. I live on PST so I have to stay up all night to server watch. If you're on EST it might be better to just set an alarm for 4am.
  4. I'm just going to talk about Nekhii because Jade and Sechen are pretty desensitized to it. Sechen just doesn't kill beastkin for food but killing out of self-defense or protecting someone else or a village doesn't bother her. Jade just doesn't kill on a job because it's super unprofessional of a thief/mucks up hiding. How does your character deal with killing? Nekhii cries, he vomits, he shakes, he feels awful about it. He's not good at sneaking, and he's gotten harassed by the occasional angry drunk with a knife. He'd rather not die and so if it's kill or be killed, he goes for kill. Monsters and killing for food is different but killing people is the most horrifying idea to him. How did your character feel after his/her first kill? At first, since he was still living with the Horo, pretty normal. It wasn't until he started realize that death was horrific that he steadily felt worse and worse. Does your character mull over it later on? He mulls over it a lot. It's why he eventually quits fighting and goes to healing instead.
  5. Jade and Sechen both try to live an impulsive, regret-free life. Nekhii, however, is constantly riddled with regret after leaving his home. He went from a life of being respected to living in the alleys of Ul'dah, hiding what he is and stealing food, knowing that even if he was to go back home he'd more than likely be treated as if he was dead to his clan.
  6. Yikes! Reminds me of Gaiaonline RP with the amount of edginess going on here. Going off that he's not a troll; I mean it's not worth the headache to argue with people like this. They tend to be really stubborn and set in their ways and tend to make everything worse if they get told to chill out one time too many. There's a way to do a dramatic scene but just out of the blue without any kind of discussion with the people involved/host is no way at all.
  7. This sounds like so much fun! If I'm not doing anything I'd love to go, maybe by then my friend/IC husband will have gotten into Balmung so I can drag him along too! I would be interested in helping too.
  8. Please add Nekhii Horo (unaffiliated) and Sechen Sagahl (active member)
  9. This so much. This also includes people who see winning as writing 2000 word posts in a forum based RP. Also there's people who don't separate what my RP character does to their character from who I am. It happened in my old FC and it wasn't pretty at all. (an ic ceremony of bonding happened, one guy fell in love with our leader's character....it was a hot mess)
  10. The one I've been RPing the longest is Elezen. I don't even have a reason other than I really love RPing elves. The lanky build of Elezen really suited his character as a shady guy who steals/makes forgeries for a living. Jade is both my love of elves and aesthetics. Ahaha My two recent ones are both Au Ra Xaela because I wanted to explore the lore by playing two characters from different clans.
  11. 29QMWYbtERk I haven't listened to anything else for the past 3 days. Guh, I love everything about this song.
  12. "jade go do this big thing" says anyone ever "i don't really want to bye" and then all of eorzea burned while jade robbed houses and made chairs. All joking aside I do have plans for how I'm going to roleplay on my Au Ra character. When I get to the 2.55 end on Nekhii (who i plan on doing more RPing as the WoL than I did on Jade since he's not the hero type) he just kinda breaks from guilt after having to do so much fighting for so long and he winds up giving up fighting to learn healing instead which is a long journey for him. More than enough to derail things for quite a while as he learns the arts of the astrologian.
  13. Jade would be a carpenter because carpentry is his hobby in game and there's no sauve master thieves in this day and age. He'd be an eccentric scrawny lumberjack who lives in Portland and I have been thinking about this way too much. Sechen would be a bodyguard because she's obsessed with protecting people and is basically a tiny canon waiting to go off. Nekhii would be a nurse because he's a caretaker by nature and he's extremely nurturing.
  14. More interested in the contents of their wallets at first but after a few pickpocket attempts gone horrifically wrong Jade learns to avoid the Xaela.
  15. Jade tends to put people on a pedestal and gets overwhelmed when they don't live up to his standards. He tends to use people he doesn't know too easily and has made someone else take the fall while he's made an escape. NO SENSE OF DIRECTION AT ALL. Lastly, and probably the most damming for him, he carries grudges way too easy.
  16. Jade thinks there should be a way to make money off the glass. He tells some poor soul it's full of holy water.
  17. Oh wow, thank you for all the warm welcomes! It's a great server so far.
  18. Irish coffee. Bitter, but strong enough to stay with you and soothing enough to keep you company on a cold winter night. If you look hard enough there's some sweetness too.
  19. Hi I just transferred over from Leviathan to Balmung after playing on Levi for a year in order to actually RP. I've been doing forum based RPing since 2004 but since my old forum went down the gutter I haven't been as active. I make a lot of OCs, however. I main DRG and also play BRD and NIN sometimes. I have all crafting classes to at least 50. (and 2 gathering classes but one day I'll actually wrap up fsh) I'm pretty new to MMOs as a medium for RP but I'm a pretty fast learner. So uh hi.
