The highlander never took her eye off him, even as the Lalafell spoke. "So long as he can keep the troublemaking focused on where it needs to be, he will suffice," she said. She removed a purse of gil, and held it out for the Lalafell, stilll not looking at her, but keeping her eyes on the Miqo'te. "If he causes any unsanctioned trouble, I will be back for this," she dropped the purse. "Come S'demyx." Walking several paces away, she would turn, expecting him to have followed.

Out of the crowd, approaching the Lalafell, came a highlander woman with a pale complexion, and a cold look in her purple eyes. She wore a heavy cloak, despite the heat, and her long hair was twirled up into a loose bun atop her head, kept intact by a couple of thin sticks. Across the bridge of her nose was a long pale red tattoo, and over her left eye a series of dots completed the ink job. In her thigh-high boots she marched in front of the remaining mercenaries, before stopping in front of the male Miqo'te. She stared into his eyes, trying to read him. "This one," she said. "What are his qualifications?"

Well said! People get so caught up in 'it's not a big deal' when... it is. For people who are LGBT, its kind of invalidating their gaming experience. What if Miqo's were restricted from marriage? What if only people who paid $5 extra per month could get married? What if only fair-skinned people could get married, or only Legacy players? There would be a lot of flack about above scenarios, so how is this any different? People have the right to express themselves, their sexuality, and to ask SE to deliver a better, equal marriage system.

Master was acting very strange. As they passed a hanging tapestry on the way to the weaver's guild, Nica saw a loose thread hanging, and grabbed on to it, out of curiosity. The thread began to unravel, the further they got away from it, pulling the tapestry apart one stitch at a time. She had never had this much string in her hand before! Her tail twitched once, as she gathered up more and more of it, until suddenly the whole metal rack toppled over; so ensnared had the tapestry gotten on the frame. As Nica held the rope of threads in her hands, the rack began to screech and drag across the stones of the street, adding even more weight to the fleeing Hyur...

Many people are also doing both servers. Especially initially, as they try to make their decision. Picking out an LS/FC early can help too, as it may sway your vote, depending on which server they are on.

Several mmos do give bonuses to couples with their marriage system, yes. As far as the RP goes... if the game doesn't allow same-sex marriage, many will take that as lore, therefore preventing our characters from same-sex marriage as well. And I also disagree with Felix =p. Respectfully, of course.

The frustrating thing is, if we canon this decision, which I'm sure many people will, suddenly Eorzea becomes a world where same-sex relationships are frowned upon. ... and that makes me a very sad panda ;_;

((Its quite alright! We all started out at the beginning, and even those of us who have been doing it for awhile learn new things all the time! I also will be gone all day Saturday, so will likely pick it up on Sunday and hopefully you'll be back then :3 One should never worry about making 'mistakes'. Its the best way to learn! I'm pretty good at finding out answers, and creating workarounds for fitting into the lore, but there are people out there far better at the lore aspect than me.

((Okay, I'm going to attempt to reel this scene in a little bit, as well as address a few things. Please note this is in no way a critique, merely a part of learning about how to RP with others. Unlikely, I'm going to ask you to edit your last post, for a few reasons: *I had mentioned to VLLL it is generally not a good idea to assume control of anothers character without permission, or until you know that RPer well. When you scooped up Nica and took off with her, you assumed control of her. You took a direct action on her without giving her a chance to react to it. I ran with it, because it fit the scene, and the character of Nica. In the future, people will not always run with this sort of thing. The correct phrase would be; 'Lodine reached down to scoop Nica up.' I can then either have Nica scamper away from you, or allow herself tobe scooped up. Control of my character still lies with me. *You missed the part where VLLL jumped ahead of you, waiting for you. This probably should have warranted some sort of interaction between the two of you. Instead, there was no mention of this in your post. *Your last post advanced things very far, and very quickly. You've left Ul'dah and the Duskies behind, essentially writing them out of the scene when it was just getting going. Realistically, at this point, Nica has lost. I would rather her not get eaten by your group, but to have some last minute hero jump in seems a little contrived and forced. Again, it feels that control of my character has been taken away from me. Please edit your post to stay within the city of Ul'dah, addressing VLLL's action, allowing the others a chance to stay in the scene, and allowing Nica a chance to react, since its her life on the line here =p thanks!!))

However, instead of lyrics, if that's what's tripping you up, you can simply describe what she/he is singing about.))

Why not be someone that wants to sing, but doesn't know how? Therefore, as you struggle to come up with poems and lyrics OOCly, so will your character ICly. I've used things like this in the past to great effect. And, maybe practice poetry in real life. As you improve, so will your character. It's quite fun to do!
