Hey there Ryslo! Yeah, we're definitely looking for some more IC conflict / OOC collaboration with other groups such as your own! I've actually been working a bit with Deahfel and her group too, whom I believe you've already done some events with. In short, the Coven is involved with nefarious deeds such as kidnapping, ransoms, extortion, bribery, break-ins, drugs, thievery, spying, and all manner of other similar themes. Suffice it to say, we definitely do harm unto others. That being said, we are also a subversive organization and favor trickery over direct confrontations (mostly so we can keep our home base out of any fire fights), but such confrontations aren't out of the question either. We're certainly willing to pit organizations against one another, even capturing thieves only for government officials to be bribed into releasing them (corruption runs deep, after all), or for Knights to end up ransomed. I work very heavily with Liliro so you can consider either of us as being the same voice for the Coven, ultimately.

Generally I play most heavily on the mercenary side and the Miqo'te-nationalist, and moreso on the criminal connections lately!

Hey there! Kasi could... fill an entire plethora of roles, really. She's a mercenary, trader, cook, and also a bit of a Miqo'te nationalist. She gets along with most people, but if she's got a job out on someone, she easily turns into an enemy. That being said, she doesn't take jobs out on Miqo'te. It really depends on what's most appealing to you! And then if you have an interest in delving into Miqo'te-centric RP, or even on the criminal side, there are connections there too!

Interesting! Well, for starters, Elysa could run into Kasi on the road as another mercenary. They could be doing the same job and end up as enemies potentially, or even meet elsewhere and take an entirely different course. It's all good fun to me! Another option (potentially a bridge-in from Kasi) is potentially getting in with the criminal underworld as a source of income and employment. Reading her biography seems to indicate it'd be the kind of thing that perks her interest, anyway- and Kasi could very likely point her into the direction of Mischief's Coven (what is essentially the mafia organized crime). There's a lot of side benefits to this kind of work too that might be appealing. Both are discussed in-depth in my signature, but let me know if you have any questions! Whoops. The Quicksand IS the Ul'dah Adventurer's Guild. It's just another name for it, pretty much! I can understand your concern with wanting to not give away too much information, though here on the RPC, I don't think you'll need to worry too much about metagaming. I mean at some level, you have to be willing to make a little bit of a leap of faith in your fellow players to be able to forge any long-term connections. If your character, for example, has a criminal background or is even a villain, yeah, that can definitely mean being a tad bit more secretive (at least until you find yourself some decent allies). Personally, I can't say I've run into any real metagaming issues in the last 5 months or so since I got here!

Hey there! So, there's a few things I can toss your way here... First, there's Kasi. She's a wandering freelance mercenary, trader, and cook, that has a bit of a soft spot for other Miqo'te who might be down on their luck or trying to find their place in the world. She's kind of a racial nationalist in that respect. She's pretty experienced, and willing to train others on occasion too (with the greatsword and/or lance). That being said, she isn't without her darker side either and has numerous connections to organized crime as well as legitimate business. You can read all about her in my profile below! Second, there's ShroudLife. If you are angling to get out of the towns and cities and embrace the wilderness (especially as a Miqo'te), there are a lot of opportunities here too. There's a lot of opportunities to link up with folks in this linkshell and encounter mercenaries, traders, and all other sorts along the roads of Eorzea. You can also read all about this in my signature. Last but not least, there's free companies! If you're looking for event-driven, Miqo'te-centric RP, there's Shroudwolf. If you're more interested in going down the dark path with a lot of spontaneous RP and strong potential for conflict, there's Mischief's Coven. Hey there and welcome aboard to both Balmung and the RPC! :thumbsup: You have multiple options for breaking out into the community, and the more of them you take advantage of, the faster you can do it. So, you can try joining some linkshells, finding yourself an RP FC that you like the jib of, and of course you can create a Making Connections post here on the RPC! All of these will give you more hooks to finding people and forming repeat encounters. Every little bit helps!

The Quicksand is really kind of your instant-action variant of RP. It's a good place to go when you want to find RP right away, but your milage will vary pretty wildly. You can find RP other ways which will generally be more fruitful in having direction, frequency of long-term encounters, and actually making some friends. So, for one thing, you can join linkshells. You can find yourself a free company RP guild that matches your own expectations for what you want (such as theme or frequency of RP). You can also create a Making Connections post too, with what you're looking for! Regardless, it's a good idea to have an idea about your character first- who they are, the kind of people they'd like to associate with, where they want to go- that kind of thing. Once you've got that, you can try to find other characters, linkshells, and FC's that align with what you'd like to get ahold of!

Welcome aboard to the RPC and to Balmung (in the imminent future)! :thumbsup: Yeah, that $18 barrier-to-entry is a pain, but you save yourself a lot of time, money and frustration just getting right onto the server so you can get off and going with the RP. If you want to hit the ground running, be sure to toss up a Making Connections post too- it'll help a ton if you have a general idea what type of characters you'd like to meet up with!
