1. Hey there, and welcome aboard the RPC and welcome back to FFXIV! Your best bet for RP is going to be Balmung- which means that troublesome $18 transfer fee, but it's more than worth it.
2. Hey there! Looking over your RPC biography for Faelen, he would probably get along fairly well with Kasi considering the two of them are ultimately in pursuit of the power to protect and improve themselves. At the same time, I get the feeling they have vastly differing approaches on how best to go about doing that- which means they could very well end up as rivals or even enemies. Whereas Faelen seems a more good-natured and free-spirited character, Kasi adheres to an honor code and subscribes to a power-at-any-cost mantra. So, there's some light-and-darkness play going on there. As a good aligned character though, I think you might be able to plug in with the Hydaelyn Protectors linkshell if you're looking for some action there (in which case you will most certainly end up an enemy to Kasi). They're kind of a vigilante group that seeks to root out corruption and protect the realm- I've run some encounters with them in the past, and they're a pretty bang-up group that's still growing!
3. Hey there, and welcome aboard to the RPC, and welcome back to Balmung! If you're shy about walking up to people, I'd recommend getting plugged in with a few linkshells or creating a Making Connections post here on the RPC. It'll nab you some basic contacts at least- a good starting point, depending on what you're looking for! Regardless, it's a big community, so you can find just about anything you're looking for. Best of luck!
4. Hey there, and welcome aboard to the RPC and to RP in FFXIV! Having come from a high tide of RP in Moon Guard back during Wrath of the Lich King? I don't think I could ever go back myself, honestly. I'm about 5 months into this game now and the idea of going anywhere else is mind-blowing now. This game has an insane amount of content, the story is fantastic, and there's a whole lot of RP community to explore, too. I think you'll be quite happy with it! As for avoiding the Stormwind-tavern deal with the Quicksand in Ul'dah? This is entirely viable to do. I'm in this same vein, actually- I subsist on RP exclusively from sources outside of the Quicksand, which amounts to linkshells, a couple free companies, and headhunting making connections here on the RPC. It even includes a player-run tavern too out in private housing, which tends to be somewhat of a less chaotic, more substance setting. So, you can certainly live off-the-grid, so to speak! You're certainly welcome to run into Kasi sometime regardless- as a mercenary and trader, she has plenty of cause to show up anywhere for a variety of reasons. You should look into posting up a Making Connections once you have a good idea of the characters you'd be interested in networking with!
5. The Elder Trial of Nauta January 24th, 2017 The members of the Shroudwolf Clan gather to observe and be a part of the test that ushers in a new clan elder: Nauta!
6. "The Heist" Encounter between the Hydaelyn Protectors, THIEF & Croix Kasi had heard there was some small vigilante group operating outside of the Goblet in Ul'dah, and where there was a freelance police force, there were confiscated goods. With the coffers of the Coven always needing more gil for continued expansion, Kasi rallied the Coven thieves and set them to a high-stakes bait-and-switch task: to draw the vigilantes out of hiding by staging a mugging down the street, stall them, and while they were occupied, one of the Coven thieves would infiltrate the hideout, case the place for valuables, and loot whatever they could fit into their pockets. Kasi ventured into their headquarters, claiming to be a 'passer-by' who had witnessed the mugging in progress- and the trap was sprung. Unfortunately, the Coven bait team was overrun in fairly short order and captured, but the Coven thieves were able to successfully case and loot the headquarters before withdrawing without incident. While Kasi had originally planned to wait until the Coven members were in the Brass Blade's prison to bribe them free, an unexpected turn of events took place: a friend of one of the thieves who carried influence with the Brass Blades arrived. The fellow had no subtly to his corruption, and intimidated the Brass Blades to set the Coven muggers free- in front of the vigilantes, who were livid. A short standoff ensued, but the vigilantes had little choice but to accept the outcome... for now. "A Crossing of Roads" A small gathering between THIEF and the Shroudwolf Clan's families It had been a while since Kasi had hosted one of her 'Meat' & Greets for her Miqo'te clan family back home, and she saw little reason not to combine this occasion with an outing to a new locale: the Coven Tavern. There, members of THIEF met with some from Shroudwolf, in a brief crossing of the roads.
7. Sure thing! I've added you to my hit list and will try to find you in-game here relatively soon. Feel free to tap me if you see me before I do you, though!
8. Hey there, and welcome aboard to the RPC! Best of luck on your hunt for RP on Malboro!
9. Even though I've only RP'ed with Ten briefly, he's an awesome player and RP'er! Hope someone takes advantage of the opening here!
10. Hey there! I've got a good number of directions you could go for a Seeker mercenary, depending on what kind of RP you're looking for. As far as individual connections go? Kasi is also a mercenary, as well as a wandering trader and cook. She's something of a Miqo'te nationalist too, so she's got a very positive attitude towards other Miqo'te at the very start. She will even take them under her wing and train them (considering she has 17 years of combat experience), much less helping them in general. So, all told, she could be a mentor, a friend, an enemy, a rival, or just about anything really depending on how they encounter each other. Kasi isn't necessarily a good person despite her racial pride and willingness to help her kin; she even has connections with organized crime. As far as Linkshells? There's ShroudLife if you're interested in roaming wilderness RP with an emphasis on Miqo'te, survivalists, traders, and so on. There's also the Hydaelyn Protectors, who are kind of a good-aligned vigilante force who are active in generating conflict and working with others. Both of these Linkshells are detailed in my signature! Far as Free Companies go? There's Shroudwolf Clan for Miqo'te folks. Shroudwolf is an awesome fit for people who have limited time for RP and prefer everything to be scheduled. It works kind of like a Dungeons & Dragons campaign where everyone gets together 1-3 times a week for plotline advancement for a few hours. There's also the Mischief's Coven, which takes a much darker approach as it is organized crime with a tavern front, is not racially aligned, and revolves more heavily around spontaneous RP and events. Both of these are also linked in my signature. All of these groups have connections between each other to various degrees (for instance, Mischief's Coven and the Hydaelyn Protectors run events against each other, ShroudLife hosts wilderness trader events where Shroudwolf shows up, etc), so if you join one you are likely to run into some of the others, too! Hope this helps, and best of luck on your search!
11. Oh, one other idea dawned, focusing on this little bit. Hydaelyn Protectors is a vigilante Linkshell organization that, while lawful good, is actively pursuing conflict and may be worth taking a look at and getting in touch with Deahfel. I've run some events "against" them so far and they're a pretty bang up group, plus there's no commitment to any FC to do this either. I went ahead and linked them in my signature as well!
12. Hey there, and welcome aboard to the RPC! I can potentially toss Kasi at you for one thing- she might be an interesting encounter for them as a Miqo'te nationalist. She is a wandering mercenary, trader, and cook, and can be anything from a friend, to a bad influence, to an enemy fairly easily depending on what exactly y'all would like. You can read more about her in my profile below, and let me know if something more catches your eye! Next, there's ShroudLife, which is a Miqo'te-based linkshell for roaming world RP focused on the wilderness and on those who often interact with those in the wilderness. Although it's called ShroudLife, it's not really focused around the Shroud exclusively anymore. You can read the details of this below, too! Finally, there's also the Shroudwolf Clan, which is one of the premiere Miqo'te clans in the community. Their recruitment is closed at present but they should be opening it up pretty soon. The clan is rather event-focused for RP, rather than spontaneous-24-7, and is designed around people with a somewhat limited schedule (sort of like a Dungeons & Dragons campaign that progresses 1-3 times a week for a few hours). At least, that's all I've got unless you want to pursue a career in organized crime. eyebrow wiggle Regardless, best of luck on your search for RP and a home!
13. Hey there, and welcome aboard to Balmung and the RPC! If you want to hit the ground running, it's not a bad idea to create an RPC Wiki page for your character and create a Making Connections post so you can start building an RP base. The Quicksand Adventurer's Guild in Ul'dah will offer pick-up RP on the fly if you struggle to find something, but you're not as likely to find long-term stuff there as you are via Making Connections. At some point you'll certainly want to try and find yourself an RP FC as well, depending! There's everything from Miqo'te clans to mafia gangs, and everything has something unique to offer!
14. Hey there, and welcome aboard to the RPC! Best of luck with your efforts on Jenova!
15. This is being discussed currently! I think the general desire is as at least a semi-weekly event.
16. Behold! Events for the linkshell! ShroudLife Hunter-Trader Wilderness Bazaar January 25th 2017 Where traders and hunters from all over gather together to trade goods, services, and recount tales of their exploits in the wilderness!
17. Sounds good! I'm usually online from 5-11PM CST on the weekdays, and all-day on the weekends! I'll keep an eye out for ya- lookin' forward to it.
18. Hey there, and welcome aboard to the RPC and to Balmung!
19. No sweat! Just thought you should know. I don't mind an enemy for Kasi, to be sure! It certainly makes life interesting. Then again, she can get along with most anyone in spite of the fact she isn't necessarily a good person. She has her own sort of charm and doesn't usually give up a lot of the finer details of what she actually does. She certainly tries to be a good person to all Miqo'te, at least, since she considers them kin- she'll usually go out of her way to help one in need, too. It's kind of a grey area. Who knows? They can run into each other along the road, a tavern, market, or Kasi can hear about M'ara and look for some amusement at getting her fortune told (might be kind of a dark fortune too, really). You're certainly willing to tap me in-game for an encounter, or I can try to hunt you down as well. Whatever works!
20. And even more screenshots. Gathering the Council January 20th, 2017 Members of the clan gather to discuss the reformation of the old council that once helped to oversee the clan in the world. http://i.imgur.com/LnZYL42.jpg[/img] The Trial of Irr'hosha January 20th, 2017 The clan gathers to administer the first rite of passage for their good friend- and now sister- Irr'hosha. 21. I'm Kasi, Bringer of Steaks, and this is my favorite place on the entire RPC. Ahem.
22. Your RPC Wiki link isn't quite right. Was confusing the hell out of me! I believe this is the correct link: https://wiki.ffxiv-roleplayers.com/pages/M%27ara_Rahj Ahem. I can toss Kasi at you for one thing: she's kind of a Miqo'te-nationalist, plus a bit of a wandering freelance mercenary, trader, and cook to boot. That being said, she isn't necessarily a good person, though. She has significant connections to organized crime (see also: mafia), and can be something of a corrupting influence. So, there's really a whole lot of different directions all this could go, depending on what you like the most!

Yo!

Hey there, and welcome aboard to the RPC! Balmung is definitely worth the money to transfer over, especially if you're primarily motivated by weaving storylines and doing RP. You'll have more than what you'll know to do with, honestly!
24. Hey there, and welcome aboard to the RPC and to Balmung!
25. I have to say this sounds like a pretty neat FC idea! So, rather than a client coming to you, what about an NPC client and you're investigating the players? Say, a particular thieves guild or the like? It might turn into an interesting game of cat and mouse. Not that I'd dare hint that such unscrupulous players exist, of course.
