Ah, seems I may have been mistaken and was under the impression that it was just barding and after taking a look at some concept art the Legacy chocobo does seem to have much darker tips to it's feathers than those found on non-legacy birds. This is also the case with the A New Beginning trailer so I think you might be right.

I'd have to go with a mix of realism and the look fitting the character. As mentioned before this is a fantasy setting and often these settings follow a more romantic road when it comes to characters. That being said from looking at this as a game all character creators in any MMO will give you options that fit the setting. Now I love adding bits of realism in there because these things will happen. People get hurt or killed, dirty, lost, even some may become mentally unstable. Looking back at characters I've played before I have a trend of playing older and generally roughed up characters. My troll in WoW had a broken tusk, covered in scars, blood stained teeth and so on but in that world it still fit. Even considering trolls had pretty insane natural healing properties along with potions and magic. For another example of a game that uses a lot of pretty people we have TERA. The character models were very pretty or cool looking but those of us who RPed tended to look at the every day things of the races. Aman for example (and I'm overly simplifying them here) are warrior smiths, most Aman be it male or female spend their lives in a forge or on the battle field and tended to be scarred or burned. For me U'zhan is a step away from these older roughed up characters and he's a relatively attractive male miqo'te. This isn't saying he's super pretty or anything he has a couple scars and gets dirty but he's still green when it comes to adventuring. Now I feel like I just ended up rambling about my characters there, sorry about that. ._.

Also if you're talking about the Legacy chocobo gift I'm pretty sure that's just unique barding (armour) that you'll get to put on your bird when you get to that point of the game. Just like the behemoth barding from the ARR CE or the bardings you could get through the Grand Companies back in 1.0.

Forgive me for being blunt but this whole fear of not being accepted really seems to have some people building up walls between themselves and the legacy crowd. Like a few others I did play 1.0 for a bit but never really dived into the RP community. Now as someone who is still counted as being new here I had a great time at The Blue Skies event that happened this weekend. As mention old and new players mixed and again as one of those new players I felt welcomed and from what I saw no one was turned away. Sure some posts were missed but that's to be expected when you get a big enough group of people together. To kind of reinforce the "you get what you give" statements that have been posted. I did have to speak up and find a place to start. The door is open we just have to take those first couple of steps and once inside things weren't as intimidating or as scary as they seemed. I generally worry about this stuff myself at times and I can often get really shy or my anxiety spikes. I guess what I'm trying to say is those of us who are new have to be willing to step through that door. No one is going to know we are there if we stay behind this wall of 'what ifs'.

Keep in mind this is SE and I don't think they are allowed to make ugly women for PCs lol.

I hated Castanics females simply for the way they moved. I liked High Elves (I normally do), but those super awesome Aman females and those child bearing hips were too good. <3 Aman in TERA both male and female though I'd have to say male Aman had the most adorable /love in the game.

You can't take the boat right at level 1 if you do all the running around quests in Limsa (Maybe 15 to 20 minutes) you can get on the boat.

It's not green, it's turquoise blue! Harumph! Lol. I said green-ish but you're right it's more of a turquoise.

If I'm not mistaken Gilgamesh is the beta server for us RPers. Also believe there is a small RP meet and greet of sorts happening tomorrow night at 5 pm EST.

Had to log back on to double check but I did "/em waves like a crazy person." and it came out as "Azthran waves like a crazy person." So there ya have it! Also ironicly the text colour was greenish.

Don't remember getting to name mine in 1.0 so with that said I'm probably going to go with Kai. It's a name I've taken a liking to and have used for pets in a few other games. I also like how Azthran and Kai sound when said together like that, then once we can get the job bardings deck him out in dragoon stuff.

For me it comes down to wanting there to be playable mithra back in FFXI. If SE never added male miqo'te I would have probably stuck with a Duskwight Elezen.

There was an interaction with an NPC from the story that caught my interest. After the events are done he looks at you and goes to ask you a question like he knows you but stops himself saying "Nah, can't be." then walks off. I'm wondering if it's possible that there might be someone with the new characters too but most likely this may just be something all characters witness but what comes of it later in the story will be different for 1.0 characters and new ones.

I'm not on a lot but it would be awesome to have others to hunt with. Pretty sure my nintendo ID is Azthran, I know my skype ID is Azthran though.

I can almost see cross class abilities being similar to talent trees in other games. A way to tweak your character for different situations be it solo or group play and also to add a bit of customization. I'm fine with a lack of cross class abilities though as it reminds me of FFXI and their subjob system a bit, get some perks from another class but didn't let you have access to everything.

Hi, I guess I'm kind of in the same boat as Hyunseo as I also plan to play a male Keepers of the Moon Miqo'te. I've done tribal RP as I played a troll in WoW and I've also done a tiny bit of matriarchal type RP as well but I'm still worried that I wouldn't be able to do the race justice. My other concern is building the character's history as I recall reading that we will be able to re-customize our toons from 1.0 so not entirely sure how to work out that my character is already so experienced (lvl 34 dragoon). All in all I guess I'm just looking for someone to help me dip my toes in the water a bit before I dive right in!
