Good news: today I was given a call that they will be upgrading my graphics card from a G4 640 to a 730 as well as an external fan to compensate for the extra power. Bad news: right now the whole thing will be about $200, and we won't be able to afford it right away. So... I will be gone for at least another week ;n;

I am already feeling the withdraw and boredom of not being able to play FFXIV. Can't even play Metal Gear Rising or Axiom Verge...

Newest update: computer seems to be acting worse now. We're taking it in to have it looked at now. So I'll be gone for a while from the game.

Your character is a gym leader for the new Eorzean Pokémon League (all standard Pokémon mechanics apply). You must choose from one of the 18 types; Grass, Fire, Ground, Poison, Electric, Water, Rock, Flying, Ice, Normal, Bug, Ghost, Fighting, Dragon, Psychic, Dark, Steel, and Fairy. You can choose three Pokémon on your team (No legendaries, no pseudo-legendary final evolutions, and no starters) based on your gym type. Your gym must also have a gimmick/puzzle based on your type or character, and you can have your own boss theme. So to recap; 1. Choose your type 2. Choose 3 Pokémon 3. What is your gym's gimmick 4. What is your fight theme I'll start: Cecily will be a Ghost-Type Gym Leader with two Dusknoir and a Golurk (her "signature" Pokémon). Her gym will be structured like a graveyard and you gotta find the key to the next room in a tombstone by pushing them ala Legend of Zelda with trainers walking around and incorrect tombs will have either nothing, a trainer, or some sort of trap. Finally, her boss theme would be the Boss Battle Theme from Yo-Kai Watch: Now then, SHOW ME WHATCHU GOT!!

Achievement: Despicable You. Cecily collects minions as companions. Some are mere pets (like the basic animals), some are used to aid Cecily in tasks (such as the gravel golem for mining), and some may even be able to aid in combat (such as the Yo-Kai).

Alright, I got a doozy... So last night a friend asked me and our FC leader to join him for a Weep raid. It was going fine at first, I was dying though but that was because I was experiencing lag (there were like three separate Netflixs going on at once), frame rate was slowing down with all the confusion every now and then cuz my computer is four years old, and I was a bit rusty on raids as a whole (it was only my second time in Weeping City). I was being hounded by this guy ( don't know if I should give a name or not) because of my performance issues. But did he care? Noooooo. When we got to Ozma, I died because in all the confusion, I didn't see the Singularity thingy target me. Nobody wanted to raise me. So after like two minutes, I'm just like "Whelp, guess all I can do now is just watch", and that cockbiting fucktard was STILL on my ass about it. It was then when I got kicked from the duty. I don't think I had ever been kicked from a duty before until last night. I was honestly a little hurt by how much people take raids so seriously that they'd kick me for being a little rusty. But let me ask you again; Do. They. Care? No. Moments after I realized what happened, our CF leader appeared next to me, back in front of our house. I don't know if she was also kicked or left out of disgust by the mental condition of the cockbite, but we just sat, I was being comforted by how I was being treated unfairly. After a while, our friend who was still in there told us that Ozma swept them a total of three times but killed the last boss in their first try. Which is odd because I remember in my first run of Weeping City, the Ozma fight went rather smoothly. So long story short, I have a terrible taste in my mouth towards raids now because of a piece of filth that got me kicked.

Last night, I was in a PotD run with someone who made their character to look exactly like Papalymo (was even named Papalymo). When I questioned them about it, they simply said they didn't RP, but just enjoyed messing around looking like them. It was actually kinda funny pretending that the real Scion member was with us (even though the player was in no way RPing). But I kind of think a bit of an exception can be made with a canon RPer if, for example, the character was to make a minor "special guest appearance" sort of thing like... um... I dunno, say like "Our FC has been given a special mission by Ser Aymeric himself" and that RPer would be there just for the mission briefing? Something like that I guess.

There are a lot of NPCs in FFXIV. And I mean A. LOT. But most of them go without us ever getting to hear them. A lot of NPCs do not have a voice behind their words. So while other threads discuss the voice that we give to our own characters, let's find some voices to go with the voiceless NPCs of Final Fantasy XIV! I'll get us started with... Hamon Holyfist! Hamon is an old man with plenty of piss and vinegar still in his system. And from the face alone, I would have him voiced by R. Bruce Elliot, specifically his performance as Master Makarov Dreyer from Fairy Tail, a sample shown below. [video=youtube]
