I've never played a single FF game ever, but when I saw this video all those months ago, it deeply moved me. Of course, then Squee had to ruin it when they tacked on the smiling happy people on chocobos in the later version. >_>;;

I'm 26. I'm not much of a creative writer; the bulk of my literature experience comes from reading metric crap tons over the years. I tested out of English and writing classes in undergrad, so my writing skills were generally only used for scientific papers, as well as the essays and thesis I wrote while getting my music degree. Now with a masters in biology, I'm still more comfortable writing technical stuff than creative things.

A class based around mind-warping powers and telekinesis and other feats of twisting physics to suit your needs/desires. Manipulate objects in space and destroy your opponents minds, or repair them! Pull on the aether in the world and literally shape things from it, and pull on and twist the aether in another's body to cause harm or heal them. I have no idea how it would work mechanics-wise, but I just adore the concept.

Honestly, I really don't like female-only races, so I very much hope Viera never make it into ARR, unless they make males. What I would really love to see is a dragon-like race, similar to the aman of TERA. Roegadyn just don't cut it for me in terms of massive, powerful women - not like my fantastic amani ladies in TERA. I will miss them. [edit] Oh, or some kind of beast-type race (like the wolf picture on page 2, or whatever), but the females should not be freaking super models with boobs. >_> If they do a bestial race, I'd love it to be done a la charr from GW2.

Yea, same here. x.x So tired of side-saddle from TERA. It looks absolutely ridiculous when your mount is running, not to mention it's only ever for the ladies, even though guys wear robes too... hngh. *grumbles*

That's an awful large sacrifice you're asking people to make for a fluff content feature, especially considering we've all created strong connections with other people who are playing the game and likely enjoy the rest of the game very much. We're far better off simply being vocal about our concerns.

What's more, why did you even need to make this post - just to call Synae out because you feel she's being overly aggressive on an internet forum about a topic she's passionate about? She's perfectly capable of wording very strong, coherent arguments, which she's done repeatedly in this thread.

Pretty sure Synaesthetic's words were largely a reaction to the idea that the intent or lack of intent can somehow make something not discrimination. Which, I think it's pretty clear that intent doesn't matter when it comes to identifying what is discrimination and what isn't.

I'm not sure how subpages would be "stray pages", especially if they're fully fleshed out. I had really wanted to build and link together pages for family members, but... I guess I feel kinda weird seeing someone say "You can't" when they don't have mod privileges.

When you identify as one gender but your body presents as another - and your official records do as well (it's /really/ expensive and difficult to get an official name change) - it gives people all kinds of reasons to hate you and, consequentially, not employ you. It's a huge problem. In most states, trans people still aren't even covered under non-discrimination clauses either.

I want to bring attention to Synae's request for input from anyone who wants to contribute to an open letter to Squee that will be translated into Japanese by her fiance and sent to them (as the language it's presented in will make it more likely that they will actually read it). So anyone who has any points they want to make, send Synaesthetic a PM! Even if you just want to sign it. Also, in-game "protests" (perhaps themed gatherings) might help draw attention to the breadth of support this has amongst the ARR populace. It would need to happen well enough prior to the patch that SE could make changes to coding should they need to - and obviously, this would only be needed if they stick to what they've said and make marriage hetero-only. I'm thinking at least two weeks out from whenever 2.1 is released, if not more.

I really wish they'd made the cap 25, so everyone had a fair shot at Free Company names. Or at the very least de-leveled everyone, or even just turned off FC function until early access.
