ChewableMorphine Posted April 2, 2015 Share #26 Posted April 2, 2015 It's a conspiracy goddammit! And everybody is in on it! Even the damn girl in the poster on the wall! [chucks a pebble at Mother Miounne] Link to comment
V'aleera Posted April 2, 2015 Share #27 Posted April 2, 2015 In addition to what's already been listed, here are a few more guild leader reactions: Byregot's beard, V'aleera! When they told me ye were done fer, I knew it weren't so! Still had a drink in yer memory, to be sure, but in me heart o' hearts I knew ye were free and fine. An' in case yer worried about someone lurin' ye out o' hidin' with a commission, fear not! Me an' Faezhar agreed not to give ye work unless we knew it was fer a trusted client. -Brithael Greetings, V'aleera. Seems you've a knack for landing yourself in the midst of ugly situations. But not to worry - once the blaze dies down, the purity of your steel will be revealed for all to see. Stay here as long as you please. My hammer and I will see to any characters foolish enough to seek trouble at my forge. -H'naanza What's this I hear about ye bein' set up for a fall in Ul'dah? If ye need a place to practice yer hidin', the shadows're always thick here in the Sisters. Besides, there ain't no cull as'll be gettin' past ol' Lonny without his say-so. -Jacke Rumor has it you've been framed for a vile crime. Would that I were in a position to help you, my friend, but for now, these words will have to suffice: no matter how grim the situation may seem, so long as you hold on to your courage and press forward, you will eventually find a path to salvation. -Ywain Link to comment
Leanne Posted April 2, 2015 Share #28 Posted April 2, 2015 Buscarron himself added a tidbit...and even talked about the traitorous Wailer that BETRAYED US AGAIN, THAT BASTARD. I hear you're in a spot of bother, lass. Whatever happens, know you'll always have a home here at the Druthers. By the way, do you know what's become of Laurentius? Last I heard he'd turned over a new leaf and joined the Crystal Braves. Link to comment
Kage Posted April 2, 2015 Share #29 Posted April 2, 2015 I -just- logged off for the night but there is a Crystal Braves lady in Mor Dhona. If you speak to her, she mentions how if it weren't for the fact that you would be causing a ruckus in the city, she'd bring you in. But only because you're in the city. She doesn't want to cause trouble to the city. Along with stuttering. Link to comment
Darien Cadell Posted April 2, 2015 Share #30 Posted April 2, 2015 Like this thread. Saves me going around to every NPC myself. Based on this (http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Brass_Blades) and the obvious, the Brass Blades are just the Syndicate's version of security forces/militia within Ul'dah. While probably not inherently evil in and of themselves, their bosses certainly are. The idea that they were given more power in Ul'dah during the Ishgard kerfuffle is scary in itself. Don't suppose anyone had been to visit Hunberct before maintenance? Link to comment
Kellach Woods Posted April 2, 2015 Share #31 Posted April 2, 2015 I did, he has nothing new to say. Although he may have been reacting to a failed FATE so someone else should verify. Salutations, (playername). 'Twould seem you are caught in quite a predicament. While I am terribly concerned for your continued well-being, I am also most curious as to how you intend to solve this thorny dilemma. - Thubyrgeim Now there's a sight for sore eyes. I believed the Admiral when she said you wriggled through the Ul'dahns' nets, but it's still a comfort to find you here in the flesh. Aye, most people in positions of power know all about your situation. Wawalago doesn't know a thing, though - and I've a mind to keep it that way. He'd never let a fish slip free from his hook, but a secret from his lips? Now that's a different story. - Sisipu Okay, so the bolded part pretty much confirms that the "state secret" is known throughout the land, just not to the extent that it involves you killing the Sultana. I'd dare say that the atmosphere around Ul'dah should have changed from that night onwards for sure. Link to comment
Auralily Posted April 3, 2015 Share #32 Posted April 3, 2015 It's obvious there are rumors. Anyone who roleplays in Ul'dah would have seen that massive force of Blades and Braves moving out the city gates and hear rumors from many different sources. So that leaves me with one simple question Can players who have not completed the story see the same exact rumors? I don't know how that system works, and if that's been answered I apologize I missed it. There are a lot of pretty big holes between 2.0 and 2.55 if they cannot. On a only slightly unrelated note. I think we should all abandon the Quicksand and that awful, awful desert once and for all! To Limsa Lominsa! ..Mor Dhona would be fine if it wasn't such a massive OoC nightmare. Link to comment

Auralily Posted April 3, 2015 Share #34 Posted April 3, 2015 No, the NPC dialogue and additional NPCs only appear upon completing 2.55 So then, at one point can the player base safely discuss the rumors without being spoilers? I mean do we have to pretend it never happened and stay quiet about it until 3.0? I suppose I have no reason to go around talking about it constantly, but still seems a legitimate concern. Chris Ganale Posted April 3, 2015 Share #35 Posted April 3, 2015 To be absolutely safe, only talk about it with people you know have finished the story. Even in my own group we couldn't freely talk about everything until about an hour ago. We still have one who isn't caught up but he doesn't get on often so that's less a worry. Link to comment
Kellach Woods Posted April 3, 2015 Share #36 Posted April 3, 2015 (playername)! Keepin' yer nose to the skillet, I 'ope? Ye ought to know that some mean-lookin' bastard was sniffin' about fer ye earlier. Rest assured, I sent 'em all on their way. "If ye ain't 'ere to dine, then bugger off," I said. Aye, them nasty rumors about ye 'ave made their rounds in Limsa, but no one puts any stock in 'em - yers truly least of all. So ye jus' keep on doin' what ye do best, an' try not to worry, eh? It'll all blow over soon, see if it don't. -Lyngsath The NPC hunt continues... (Wheiskaet reacts to Postmoogle, but not MSQ so I have omitted him here - None of the Job NPCs react to MSQ except PLD) Link to comment

Aldotsk Posted April 3, 2015 Share #39 Posted April 3, 2015 I am so glad I started the process of moving Erik out of the Sworn. I have been talking to people about it alot lately. IC I would say Erik knows just what everyone else does.... nothing beyond public knowledge. His Sworn title is mostly for the sake of his current job. It seems though people are aware of the General's spot in the slammer. That seems to be the common knowledges from what I read above. At this point, I am also planning to move my character out of Sworn and Ul'dah's business. I've been really pushing about how I want to have my character do like a coup de tat city riot after hearing some news, and plan to have her be banished from Ul'dah for good with her being chased by Blades in Thanalans while running away. Technically, at this point - Sworn is unofficially dead. Since they don't know what to do. Maybe perhaps it's probably for the best to have all paladins move up to be Ishgard's knights (after all, Paladin in Japanese really meant Knight in FF14 from the start) Link to comment

N'velhi Tia Posted April 3, 2015 Share #44 Posted April 3, 2015 Went to the Waking Sands to see if Urianger had something to say regarding 2.55. Also talked to the other NPCs there. "The world's gone mad indeed when its saviors're branded criminals. Me dear sisters would be turnin' in her grave..." -Slafswys "It will take more than this to end the Scions! Warrior of Light - promise me you'll stand with us to the bitter end!" -Radolf "No matter how hopeless things seem, I will keep my chin up and press on. 'Tis the least I can do to honor the memory of my fallen comrades." -Arenvald "As one age endeth and another doth arise, so do our struggles wax and wane. What wouldst thou ask of me." -Urianger. Not sure if he was referring to the Ul'dah ordeal, though. If you ask him "How fares the realm," he'll respond with: "Within these walls thou shalt find sanctuary, for my glamours have hidden the Waking Sands from all who would do us harm. Never again will our brethren suffer at the hands of our enemies - this I swore to myself after the Garlean raid. Yet mayhap it were destined to come to pass. Mayhap this too is the will of Hydaelyn." Link to comment

So they probably won't do it for another expansion. Link to comment

Aldotsk Posted April 3, 2015 Share #48 Posted April 3, 2015 I also think Momodi is behind the whole scheme of Uldah conspiracy. The way the plot goes, Momodi's actions had been quite strange if people talked to her for 2.55. Link to comment
