Also through the data center wall and stuck in a queue.

And no, if the queue keeps refreshing and staying at the same number, it's broken.

yeah.  It eventually kicked me out with another Error 2002.

Then when I tried to get back in, I started getting Error 5006 from every data center.

I gave up.  :(

Why did I preorder again?  I should have known better.

It'll ease up eventually. Its kind of frustrating but so far the errors haven't been as bad as 2.0 launch when a good chunk of people were stuck the whole weekend getting the 'character still logged in' error. If I remember right most of us with that ended up loosing the entire weekend of early access waiting on someone to unstick our characters for us.

Still, would be nice to be able to get past the log-in servers at least... Tried five hours ago and still can't get past the 2002 error. >.<

Guess I'll be watching movies for the rest of the night and try to log in at a crazy hour of the morning tomorrow.

If you're having trouble logging in do what I do.

When a error pops up. Walk around your house for a minute or two then try again.

I get in every time that way lol

Doesn't work when you live in a tiny one-bedroom apartment and the error keeps dumping you to desktop and requiring you to relog like Warren so eloquently described.

I had no faith what so ever that they were going to have servers capable to handling the massive wave of people trying to get in. I'm sure they also knew this was going to happen but decided probably decided it was best to just let it go as it does instead of getting more server space because it would equal out after a month.

They know people will pay for early access despite the possibility of not even being able to play early access because they know people will try to bash their head against the login hoping to get in for a hour or two before it 90Ks half the server so another group can play for a few hours before they too get 90ked.

Oh the login.. the login, the login.. the login. When you finally get through after password/security token 50 times.. you FINALLY get the beautiful que.. but it's a lie, no matter what the number is. 719 in line? 17 in line? 51 in line.... 1 in line.. LIEEEEES. All but the "1 in line" will tick down ONE time... 719 to 51... then it stays 51 for 5 minutes before, you guessed it. ERROR. Back to Passowrd/Security token. I'm gonna end up having to charge up my G3, so I can token security all night cause that's what it's gonna take.

What I'm wondering is, how is it that some datacenters which purportedly have more players aren't experiencing the same thing, or are they? I can't tell because even though I've been trying to get into Aether for 6 hours, I have no problem getting on JP servers, where I have 0 characters.

Also, LOL @ the new recruit a friend gig. They came out with both recruit a friends AFTER most people had already brought the friends most likely to play over. They must think we're supposed to go out and snag some of our friends we just met from other games. I see what ya did there SE.

Workshop. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL, what numbskull came up with the idea of having to get on party with FC mates to turn stuff in at the workshop? OMG, this linen canvas is so heavy.. I need a raid to help me! I'm going to slap SE with 8900 of the 70000 fish my retainer has brought me.

*flips the table over, puts a bunch of my dogs poo in a bag, lights it on fire and leaves it on SE's doorstep.* FFFFFFFFFuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Youuuu Muddaph*ckas youuu!!!!

Ok I feel better now. Bacon.

Straight-up: I will haymaker a motherfucker in the throat if it means I can crash to login instead of crashing to motherfucking desktop which means cold-booting the log-in service every fucking time it breaks./

I paid actual cash-dollars to be able to access the game in advance, not to be completely unable to access a single fucking thing and also burning pushes on my token in the meanwhile as it fails me repeatedly on a Friday night.

Other datacenters aren't as bad because they're basically empty. Aether is exploded because about eight hundred thousand people are trying to log into it.

And Warren about echoes my sentiments exactly, except for the token thing because I used an app token and destroyed the phone I had it on in a bout of anger and so had to have it removed. The only difference is that I am forcefully maintaining a zen-like calm and attitude of indifferent resignation because to do otherwise is not only unhealthy for me but will greatly upset my GF.

This:

"We are gradually allowing players into the data center, so we ask that you please wait patiently as the login rush subsides."

From here, suggests that they're deliberately throttling log ins to our data center. If so I assume they'll ease up on that as the mad rush subsides (either because people are getting in or, more likely, because they've just given up and gone to bed/work/other life stuff).

Its going to be like 2.0 - unless you're logging in during EU/NA quiet times you're going to be playing the log in game. At least for the weekend, maybe for the rest of the week.

It did this to me. I switched to the top data server on the list. Instead of backing out, I hung around for a little bit, messed around with creating a character. Then, after several minutes doing that, I backed out and tried switching back to Aether. It let me in.

I'm stuck in player queue now, but hey, at least I can derp around in character creator!

In the meantime I'm going to try and make some panko friend burger patties. Why? Because I can.

I'm just sippin' a starbucks macchiato for some ass balls reason instead of frantically being in front of my computer flippin' out about dis shit.

Played some Smash Bros with the colleagues prior.

I really feel I made the right choice to not rush home to try and play.

Work has been so shitty stressful (it constantly amazes me how people who run entire financial wings of organizations manage to fuck up basic communication) the last couple months I'm just happy to be home. ...okay, now to patties.

I'm trying to remain calm, I'm alot calmer than I exclaim in my post. It's just frustrating and I know a whole ton of people are going through the same thing.

Also I do believe they are throttling, or at the very list doing something to knock off a whole bunch of people at a time. I read about a few people having been on a voice chat when their whole FC got 90ked and can't get back it. It probably does a sweep every so often, knocking out a bunch of people, then some other people get in for awhile before it sweeps again and will keep doing it until things even out.

They don't seem to be concerned about it, on their twitter, they mentioned servers having issues like 15 hours ago and haven't said anything about it since then except:

"FINAL FANTASY XIV ‏@FF_XIV_EN 5h5 hours ago

Please note that there may be prolonged login congestion after Worlds have been recovered. We appreciate your patience and understanding."

Nothing about a maintenance or anything.

then they went back to promoting stuff. >.< They are so damn lucky I have a bunch of bacon, white rum and my cheesy show "the messangers" is loading up.. and I'll watch some Defiance.. but then I will BE BACK... *does the 2 fingers point to eyes, then point to SE, then point to eyes, then point to SE* "I'm watching you bitches! I'll be back for sure!"

I actually am fine with how the launch has been going. I've seen worse. MUCH worse. I don't mind sitting in a queue. I can connect to the data server using the trick of connecting to a different one and then going back.

My machinist is level 45 and I'm taking my time since I don't want to shock my body due to still being in recovery.

I'm glad you're able to get in.  Every time I see a queue, it's broken and I get another Error 2002.  But I bet we paid the same amount of money for the same access.  :dodgy:

When you open one launcher and login, open a second one right after. You have to force yourself through it by trying to log in ASAP on the second one as soon as you get the error. It normally takes about 5 tries and I'm in trying to connect to the datacenter.

Then as others said, if you reach the error, try switching the datacenter back and forth. Then you just have a long wait in the queue due to throttling.

I've done that.  I've been doing it for the last two and a half hours.  I get into the queue, but the queue breaks every time and I'm hit with an Error 2002 after a certain period of time and have to start over again.  I'm getting to the queue, but the queue is broken.

Edited to Add: It just happened again. I was in queue, got down to 1 in queue, sat there for about 20ish minutes, and then got another Error 2002.

Ouch. I can only wish you and anyone else who has yet to be able to log in luck with continuing to try and bullhead yourself in.
