(This got posted/rushed, so if the options are weird or it's missing an obvious one like merchant etc, I'm sorry, it posted before I finished writing the polls and I rushed it ~.~)

What do you consider your RP character in terms of profession or cultural standing? I'm kinda curious of the diversity around Balmung's types of characters. I'd also like to clarify just a couple things below.

1. If you have more than one character you RP with, list your main one or the one you use the most.

2. I've included some pretty common concepts but if you don't fit in anywhere and you vote other, please list what other below. At the same time... If you're still around the area of one of the types listed, please just contribute to that than making it other. (ex. I'm not a medic or anything but I do use healing magic, or I'm not an adventurer but I am a demon in a regular body exploring the world etc). Feel free to ask if you're uncertain of your vote.

3. This is more optional but I'm still curious, if you vote, could you list where you typically leave your character hanging around? Or is there even a single spot etc you go around? I know quicksand is quite common but I know some hang in specific mountain sides in thanalan or perhaps their own homes in residential districts, I'm just quite curious of the common place an individual would be around typically.

Sorry I'm still making it, I thought it would've left me in preview mode until I actually finished ~.~;.. covering more choices... be about 10 mins lmao.

Added, I feel like I missed some choices but I generally wanted to keep some of the results within the same category. Being as someone that is a fighter that goes out in the world to beat up stuff or being an adventurer who does the same but only more defensively would still be around the same spot... Etc. Basically if they're relatively close to the idea even if not quite, vote in that realm xD. Like a librarian would fit under scholar and etc, or a dragoon under adventurer (knight if you standby guarding or protecting someone of royal descent or something I suppose, think of the maelstrom officers and etc).

Any who, my vote's for scholar area since my char studies most if not all forms of magic more commonly than he goes out adventuring/exploring. If anything his studies are the result of the adventuring he does, all int he pursuit of knowledge and betterment of Eorzea. Plain and simply put.... if I wa sjust a mage for the sake of being good at aether and loving to explore, I'd put the first but yeah e.e;... Sorry again if this isn't too well done. Feel free to ask for clarity too if you're uncertain.... My friend helpe dme just now realize I could've included Gambler and etc with treasure hunter as a main thing but.. welp, yeah.. too late >~>; ty forum for posting this early lol.

I didn't see mercanary, or hired gun. Didn't figure it fit under Adventurer or Bounty hunter really.  So other I guess.

Wouldn't that count as a hunter/bounty hunter since you're doing a job for someone? That's why I also put etc too xD kinda covers the general area of players who would hunt another for any reason or another.

I'm not really sure where "part of government-sanctioned vigilante organisation" would fit into it? There's lots of stuff he does (including "fisher" and "adventurer"), but that's his career. If there'd been a "part of military forces" option I'd've picked that, but there wasn't.

Some of these just seem to be weirdly lumped. Like Waiter/Waitress with Establishment Owner.

Regardless, I put Other anyways. Lihli is a priestess besides running an organization. As well as a botanist and alchemist-- but she's not a gatherer so it didn't fit under there. And I didn't feel comfortable putting her in with the same vote as a waitress. So Other she goes!

I'd definitely count that as other xD. Seems more specific to stopping crime than of officer/royal guard or anything like that. I'd say officers under the grand copmanies would fall under guard and etc royalty but yours still seems more specific

Yeah ~.~ I rushed.... I was overall trying to lump together main career/profession types. Like if you serve in a fine dining establishment, or you work as a tavern server, or own it, or just serve drinks. If she's a priestess first and foremost, I'd say healer/etc but if she owns like a store, bar, or cafe.. I'd say establishment owner.

I wish it didn't post it so fast, I could've taken my time more >_>;

I mean, uh, I'd vote, but seeming Ave's a religious punch warpriestess, I'm not sure where to fit her in!

Maybe elaborate more on what that is? xD I got mixed vibes off that title lmao. I'd say other for now though.

EDIT: also happy to see there's more scholarly types than I first thought... would love to know where you all hang out. While I may be not subbed atm Valic usually is at the thaumaturge guild at the moment since it's the only decent library we have that isn't in a residential district lol. May be subject to change if they give us any nice libraries or literature filled areas in SB.

EDIT2: Lot of "other" but no one specifying except maybe 3....

Solenne is an intelligence specialist, freedom fighter, healer, accountant, and venture capitalist. If "shrewd business woman with a savior complex" had been an option, that probably would have fit her best.

My choice was for a reason that's a lot more simplistic...

I have 4 characters and I don't really consider any of them my "main", so I picked Other to account for all of them. (That and 2 of the 4 are several things on the list.)

Can't answer cause I legit have multiple RP/Gameplay "mains". But I do notice that Businessman/woman is missing.

And to clarify, you mean profession as in "main source of income" right?

Merchant/Supplier is a big one that isn't on the list.

I can understand why Witch is not on the list but Pirate, that's even a thing in the game

Nebula - Witch/Pirate

Hangouts - Limsa ofc :)

Couldn't witch count as mage? xD And Pirates are after treasure usually.... maybe under treasure hunter I coulda put that... idk D:

While Naomi can be seen as an adventurer, her main 'job' is a free company leader and investigator. And believe me, with the crew she has, free company leader is a full time job.

I would say that's still counts as the etc in adventurer lol.

Whatever your char just "does" every day xD. And I know I missed that one ~.~ I would've put that with waiter/waitress/establishment owner, but I'd say something along the lines of business would be around there too.

I chose "Other" since we're a group of pirates and don't really work for anyone other than ourselves.

May want a Criminal/Badguy entrepreneur type up there.

I think that counts as the general adventurer, I didn't really specify it had to be of good/bad/etc intent really lol.

Ideally the main point here was just to get an idea of the types of characters that exist and their general area of where they hang out. So typically pirates/mercenaries or anything that could be seen as someone who goes out into the world fighting for something I wanted to try and group together. Was mostly feeling out the variety a bit, I'm actually quite happily pleased so far to see the amount of scholarly types is actually more decent than I first expected. I either shouldn't lumped some others together better or just made a more basic poll asking whether you adventure or you tend to stay in city states or something to that degree lol.... But I rushed this poll cuz it bugged out on me so xD

Thaumaturge/Alchemist - Ul'dah

Business owner - Ul'dah (sometimes Little Ala Mhigo)

Office worker/scholar - Ul'dah (sometimes Ishgard)

Restaurant manager/chef - Ul'dah

Is this roughly what you're looking for?

Pretty much <3 more specifics are nice too though as I can figure there's a lot of roleplayers in ul'dah being Balmung's current main hub for it lol.

Well, there's two different questions... Where does your character hang out? Where do /you/ tend to hang out? xD My characters can be found anywhere in Ul'dah. I do most of my RP in the Goblet.

Fair enough, I guess I more-so mean where do "you" hang out. I guess I'm too literal with my char sometimes lol.

Jee whiz I need to update my profile here! :P

Aronaux Farendaire, who's my main until I level up my alt for Stormblood, is a viscount, knight of House Fortemps, and member of the House of Lords, so I figured that he fits best into the Royalty category.  Of course, I usually have him in Ishgard proper, specifically the Pillars, due to his status in the House of Lords, but whenever I want to take him outside I bring him to Camp Dragonhead on official business for his liege, House Fortemps.  Other than that, he goes on vacation from time to time in the southern city-states, and as a history aficionado tends to visit ancient ruins like Nym and Amdapor quite a bit.  His academic interests definitely don't outweigh his emphasis on nobility, governance, and knighthood, though.

Judielle Farendaire, his sister and the character I'm hoping to main in Stormblood if I get her there in time, is a more complicated case; if I answered the poll for her I would have chosen adventurer.  She fulfills many of the responsibilities of a low hierarchy Ishgardian priestess, but an unquenchable wanderlust and unwillingness to take a vow of chastity keep her from ordination despite otherwise having studied in the Scholasticate everything she's required to have learned.  When in Ishgard, she spends most of her time attending to the needs of the poor in the Brume and elsewhere, working side-by-side with missionaries and clergymen there, but she has a heart of an do-good adventurer and has done many things that would get her into trouble in the eyes of her peers and the Inquisition if they were ever revealed.  Unlike Aronaux, who's more interested in maintaining the public order than anything else, Judielle's profoundly motivated by a dream to make the world a better place, which will ultimately bring her to Gyr Abania and Othard before she settles down, either finally as a priestess or as a wife and mother.  Since she's primarily an adventurer, I'm more free to have her go wherever she pleases, but for now Coerthas and her free company's home of Limsa Lominsa remain her usual haunts; after Stormblood, I plan to relocate her mainly to Kugane, but we'll see if it might make more sense for her to be in Rhalgr's Reach.
