Someone told me once of a way to switch between AoE and Single. Only DoM can do the switch, and switching to Single gives slightly more damage. I can't remember the exact technique but it has to do with having to confirm your spell twice when you cast, which I thought was an annoying bug... but in fact, it's because you can switch in between. I think it's a matter of an arrow key but I really can't remember. I know it can be done, though.

I agree about the font size, it makes me not even want to read it, right now. ^^;

IF it is indeed already full and remains so and it's impossible to create more characters there while only a minority of the RPC rolled there, we would definitely need to review our options. However, between hearsay and the uncertain amount of people that might be leaving before beta is over (tons of people use beta's as a free trial of sorts), it's still too early to do anything about it. We should probably not worry before launch.

You can always just write the name without the apostrophe and when you ICly introduce yourself, you use the apostrophe. People often forget that because they have a name above their heads, introductions can be skipped. On that note, my character is going to use two names, for two different "identities" and I expect people to RP with that in mind.

It simply wouldn't start at all for me, I went to do something else, when I came back, it was all done. Except the lounge server isn't responding. so.. patience and prayers, I guess.

Try /blist. Since XI had a blacklist I'd imagine that 14 would have one also (if not yet, at least on day of release). I don't know if there's a /command for it but Social List in the menu has both friend list and black list.

@Lunaticked I think Home's not working as it should because it's used in priority by the game to bring up the Menu. If you can change that key to another key, maybe Home would then work as intended? @Castiel Yay! Replies!

Hmmm... the Book of SomethingorOther from the Aetheryte says that DEX is Physical Accuracy. If it's not... it sucks that they'd have that information in the game. I have no issue with it getting Crit Chances up and enemy Evasion down, though. Just as good. False explanations are bad, though. Also Tagyr, I hate you now. ^^;

I actually like most of the responses there. Some idiot thinks its kiddies who RP.. obviously they're unaware that most RPers are adult as kids these days refer shooting games and stuff (even the younger RPers here would agree, I think!). Some idiots think they can roll a catgirl and have people give them gil (we RPers -hate- beggars, don't we?). On the other hand, some seem to have a decent grasp of what RP is or not care about it at all, some actually have an interest and some mentioned that retards would go "ewww RP" and stay the hell away. All in all, a minority of retarded responses, and a decent amount of mature ones.

Yep yep. Does it for everyone. It sucks. Either we play fullscreen and don't alt-tab ever or we play windowed. Alternatively, and this is a question for the computer-savvy folks, if I had 2 monitors, could I play fullscreen on one and have other stuff on the other without causing this kind of problems?

Why would there be a function to save character creation settings and more slots for that than we get character slots, though? It -has- to serve some purpose.

Ul'dah is also full of very bisexual Miqo'te of suspicious professions. One of the first NPC I talked to offered to "enjoy festivities of our own" and "take my arm and more" but withdrew her offer as she noticed I had no monies. I guess some devs really let their catgirl fetish out in that city. ^^;

If you keep the Social list open (admittedly annoying if you want to do anything else at all) you really just have to keep hitting Enter. One thing that could be tried is /chatmode tell firstname lastname but I somehow doubt it would work?

Asytra, not only our names but also our thinking are alike! That's exactly my only worry. Let's cross fingers and hope it doesn't happen.

For Ul'dah Various shops for crafting etc can be found in the Sapphire Avenue Exchange (blacksmith stuff, various food stuff and carpenter stuff on one side, armorer stuff, more food stuff, fishing and harvesting stuff on the other). Eshtaime's Aesthetics sells some jewelry (copper and brass) Romululu's Bric a Brac sells DoM weapons, some clothes, shields and a Helm. The Rudius sells the DoW Weapons and a shield. The Guilds in town are: Gladiator, Pugilist, Thaumaturge, Weaver, Goldsmith, and Miner. Note that prices went WAY up since Closed Beta!
