1. I got into Gilgamesh early... no queues no problem... Suddenly, a wild ISP maintenance appears! I get kicked out, internet becomes uberslow. I try calling my ISP but ALL their numbers are busy... not "please wait your call is important to us" no... just.. busy. So I figure okay maintenance meh... And I go do some mini groceries shopping nearby. I come back like half an hour later. Internet is back. Both Balmung and Gilgamesh are full. Eff you, ISP. /rant As a side-note... I know many of you are happy to log in early to "save" your spot... that's a pretty damn jerkass move. I understand not wanting to come back from work at peak hour and being unable to play... but try being considerate of other players.
2. Every MMO launch I've played in the past half dozen years, people have been saying the same thing... I appreciate the positivity, but I have to disagree. The amount of people being locked out is stupidly high, and I have never seen that before. True, I haven't seen much else in terms of bugs, but keeping in mind the importance of that one major issue and the fact that it's a re-launch, not a brand new game, the only worse launch I've seen recently was TSW's.
3. I enjoy Pathfinder, but I don't think the d20 system is the right kind of rules to properly portray the kind of things we see in Final Fantasy games.

A sad day

I think the main issue here is the RPC is a community, and people splitting up all over the place goes against the definition of a community. It's not wrong... but it's not... community-friendly. It's already been said the RPC wouldn't support more than 2 servers, there was enough drama about getting a 2nd one already. Another issue is.. "we're going to play elsewhere" can be, consciously or not, perceived as "you guys aren't worth waiting for your servers to let me in". It's of course not the idea of rolling elsewhere, but like I said, it can be a conscious OR subconscious perception. All this leads to... what we're seeing on the forums. And this is all Squeenix's fault!
5. Oops! Palom and Porom done, my bad! Hard to keep track after 10 pages. o_O Then, P is for... Promathia
6. It's Coeurl. Coeur (French for Heart) with an extra L (for love, I guess? One way to remember it...)
7. I say, start playing! It's surprising the amount of lore you can actually discover in-game, from the NPC's.

A sad day

Like I said elsewhere, I've seen this sorta thing before pretty often. In WoW, the "most popular RP server" always ended up being full, with queues of undreds of people. When this happened, Blizzard would eventually open free transfers to low pop servers. We RPers endured and remained there, waiting for the non-Rpers to leave. It's always been successful. Only times RPers migrated was when the overall quality of life on the server went to hell due to... I'm not sure what, actually. But it wasn't about high population. If you see my words as a "it's not my problem" or "you can't leave" ... well, it's your choice to read it that waybut I'm actually saying is "please endure, trust me it can be done" and "stay, your presence here is desired."
9. ERMAHGERD! I actually can log in! I'm in character selection right now. o_O That derpy website got it all wrong!
10. According to this, launch is still a good 9 hours away at the time of posting. I think you're overestimating the timezone effect. ^^;
11. Been there done that about a half-dozen times. Let's just do what we want to do and stop arguing about possibilities. Like that guy who posted to let people know on was on Sargatanas and asked who else was there. That's a good initiative. Arguing about the situation and who is more frustrated and why wait or why roll elsewhere? Bad initiative.
12. What they said. Plus, they're SO cute!
13. Don't hate too much. Even with my access, I still don't bypass the server locks. I can't log into my character on Balmung Yeah there's that... and it will probly be the same until either they make new servers, push the current server caps, or people give up. Let's cry patiently together then!
14. It reminds me of that derp Kelgar in NWN2... dwarf wanna be a monk. I tried playing a dwarf monk just for the lols... and... he never noticed. >.>
15. Not judging, just wondering. ^^;
16. I hate you right now. I played longer, but am not allowed in.
17. Wow launch was a decade ago, and they had no previous mmorpg experience, it's simply not fair to compare WoW's launch to any mmo's launch nowadays. True, if they create more servers and they end up empty later they'll be forced to merge some of them but it's still what they should do. They have the demand, they need to work on supplying or else they'll lose customers. They may lose customers later... but it's bets if they only lose them later because until then those customers will have sent some money their way, which they can use to improve the game. And with names+surnames, I'm not too worried about a name already being taken... unless it's really not original (like any name taken from a popular fantasy/sci-fi source). AFK kick timer would be cool... IF they do it right. SWTOR was awful because it didn't count typing as activity, meaning if you RPed and didn't move around at all, you'd end up going "inactive".
18. Double Post! Don't 1.0 CE owner get the 2.0 CE bonuses automatically though? Well, the digital ones, anyway.
19. Don't take it too personal, he was probably drunk. ^^; (Meaning yeah it's a bit annoying and I loved SWTOR for changing NPC convo based on race/class at times, but hey, you can always ignore it or make up a reason why they don't notice)
20. It really is regular MMORPG fare. And this is just early access. At this point, the company behind the MMO would normally create additional servers to accommodate the unexpectedly high population, If they don't, launch will be even worse. Also, at this point the RP community normally clench their teeth and wait, trying to get in their chosen server and hoping non-RPers are the one to move. Now allow me a bit of egotism here... I don't care if people leave for other servers. In fact I welcome it, Even though it splits the community, it will reduce the stress on my chosen servers a bit and every bit helps. However, allow me now to be back to my normal self in saying to those who leave, be prepared to either have trouble RPing (due to significantly smaller RPer pop), or to transfer as soon as possible, or both. People are impatient to play right now, (I know I am!) but as Kylin said, we better think of long-term. It's why we formed this community, after all.
21. My dreams of early accessness and paying less have been shattered... At least no one can take my CE from me.
22. T_T Oh well... thanks for clarifying. As you said, hopefully I get in just fine on Tuesday.
23. Yeah, I had the same issue but I managed to luck out and one of the forum goers here had a pre-order code they gave me. Oh, and don't worry, you're not missing too much with all the maintenance and server issues. I really hope this latest bout will fix the issues. Not being able to play is killing my weekend off and one of my friends who pre-ordered is on the verge of just giving up on the game already. That's not cool! At least I got to have a day at the beach yesterday, but I was really hoping to get into early access and had some plans for it, too. Bleh! Tell your friends they should at least play their free time from getting the game though, otherwise it's like throwing money out the windows (in which case they might as well just give it to you ^^).
24. Guess I'll wait 2 more days then.. no big deal but a bit annoying as it will prevent me from being much help with my Gilga FC. T_T
