1. What, you guys didn't get your Error Code 3 Super Ultra Epic Dynasty pre-order mount, The Ul'Dahn cruiser? Here's mine! Enjoying the site's with this bad baby... With all the nonsense we're dealing with at the moment, just wanted to post something lighthearted and fun
2. Hullo and welcome! It's getting close to launch, but there's still plenty of time to make friends and learn more about the community. Don't be afraid to ask questions, the folks here are all great!
3. Nada on the housing other than some insight. Yoshi-P in one of the LIVE letters stated that the small~medium size Free Company housing would cost the equivalent of 3 adventurers saving all their gold until lvl 50 or so. My feeling is that personal housing will be much less demanding as that, but without the benefits that the FC housing will offer. Sub fees are something like this: $11.99 gets you one character per server, and only a certain number of servers. $14.99 gets you 8 characters per server, and no server restriction
4. That's good news! I've been on hold now for... 1 hr and 51 min trying to get my issue sorted out. I'm sure everything will be fine by then. We'll get there eventually It's so close! < 60 hrs to go!
5. An Aetheryte for your House! Forgot to lock your house door? Perhaps you think you left the stove on? It sure would be nice to get home in hurry for cases like these, yeah? One of the objects you’ll be able to place around your house is an aetheryte that will function much like the ones found around Eorzea. This will allow you to set it as a home point and use "Return" to head home in a flash. LINK
6. Great stuff Clover, keep it coming. Might 'ave some commissions in your future!
7. This is fantastic! Reminds me of the old Dragon Slayer stuff, and perhaps a bit of the Dragon Age II concept art. Keep it coming, I'd love to see more!
8. Also keep in mind that while it the open beta didn't go as smoothly as everyone had hoped, it was in fact a stress test as well to see what kind of load the servers could handle and still function properly. Well, they got it! There were often queues to get into the server, along with the 'world is full' message. At the start they had to lock out creation on servers as well (highest I saw at one point was that 14/20 NA servers were locked!) to allow people to trickle in while they steadily raised the bar. I think the sheer number of people that wanted in shows how successful they've been at garnering interest and simply making a great game. These issues have been addressed according to the development team, but we have yet to assess them as they were resolved post phase 4. Also, it was an open beta and free to play for the weekend, so one could assume that much of the population were players that were simply testing the waters while it was free and will not be available or interested in playing during launch. All in all, find the community that feels right for you! Both servers have great players and amazing merits, and at that end of the day it's the people you're with that count.
9. Try going for a walk with some headphones in playing themed music. Seems silly, but it forces a different perspective on your environment and may give you some ideas.
10. Hullo and welcome to the forum! Happy to see another Gilgameshian, although both servers have their merits. I've been here for about a month and a half now and the members here were incredibly supportive of my growth here. There's some amazing threads out there, so if and when you have any questions or comments don't be shy. Welcome welcome!
11. This is great! There are a couple other 'character's music' threads on the site that you might enjoy as well. This is one of my favorite character building exercizes, and it really can add depth and motivation.
12. ((This is great stuff, keep it coming!))
13. That is most excellent to hear, and we'll be happy to have you! Will you be joining us for Early Access?
14. Hullo, and welcome! You've come at a very exciting time! As a player who decided to start on Gilgamesh, you might think that my opinion is biased, but truth be told there are countless benefits to both servers. Really it's up to your play style and who you'd want to interact with. A lot of folks here have even resolved to create characters on both. Either way, don't be shy, ask lots of questions, and get to know the amazing community here.
15. Kayle smiled silently for a moment at the young Miqo'te girl, eyes hidden behind tumbling bangs. "And so it is," he replied, beaming. *** The group talked well into the night, retelling of their meeting, sharing stories from their pasts, and their dreams and aspirations. Some didn't say much, but they seemed to enjoy the company. There was laughter and compassion here among these strangers, but for Kayle it felt like home. As they each trailed off and drifted into their dreams, Kayle couldn't help but think of his family; of his mother and her husband, and of his missing father. He could still hear his final words... Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important. "A coast in the desert..." he said softly as Azeyma's Glory broke the horizon. ***
16. Kayle drank greedily from the cup as it was handed to him, the water sweet and cool. "Aye, but rest assured we've not interest in any documents. He and I were dispatched by the Flames to eliminate this encampment, one way or another," he said, motioning towards Desmond. "The other's we'd picked up at our camp at the oasis over the ridge, each with motivations of their own. We were thankful to have them, and I am personally indebted to all of them." "In the state we're in, it may be best to make camp here tonite and leave come the dawn. It's a long trek back to Ul'Dah, but if you're headed that way I think we'd all be better for your company, if it please you," he said, visibly put at ease by the presence of their new companions.
17. They are definitely working on a new version of the Lodestone. Maybe Doctor Galactic is secretly a Garlean spy and the boss of a 2.1 dungeon. And the Desert Coast is comprised of his sympathizers and henchmen... they're using Ul'Dah as a base because of a huge overarching plot with the underbelly... And the elaborate image heralds the new features we get after we journey deep into an Aetheric pocket dimension to overthrow his nefarious plan. This is all part of the promotional material... the RPC is coming for you! (I jest, but seeing the above posts, I couldn't resist. Thanks for the update and for calling in to Square for us. I can't wait to get my preorder registration in order.) I think you mean Gallifreyan... Most of the folks 'round here simply refer to me as The Doctor 8-) (Not a problem, we're all in this together, and I do what I can when I can.)
18. Hullo, and welcome! Very exciting time round 'ere, so pull up a chair, have an ale, and make some new friends while we all eagerly await launch!
19. Just wanted to give this some visibility. This is currently the login page for square-enix. I spoke with them earlier today after a 45 minute hold, and they are aware of all the issues and working diligently to get everything back in order for us. I let the agent know that we all appreciate the effort they're putting in on days like this. Just give it time and they'll have it sorted out.
20. Relevant to my previous post, this is the current screen when attempting to login to square-enix-
21. Are they taunting at a 'Swordsman' class, or the fabled 'Fencer' that was in the code for 1.0. Guess we'll have to wait and see, but it's all aboard the speculation train!
22. I have the same thing and it honestly has me a little worried. When I use the log-in details for my actual service account (this link) to log-in to the registration one (which appears as you say to be a different site - if you complete that form there it'll finalise the set up of an account there) it lets me log in, but it doesn't show my 1.0 FFXIV game under the games listing. I can see the game account on my service account, but not that other site despite using the exact same log-in details. Which leaves me concerned as to whether putting in the pre-order code is going to work or not. The two accounts are not connected. They aren't connected at all. You can use the same information in both, or use completely different information. The nationally-affiliated account has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not you get Early Access. The 20-digit code you get from entering the 18-digit code in the pre-order site needs to be entered into your service account. As long as your service account actually has the code entered, and reflects that you have early access, you have early access. Again, the two accounts are not connected. Which is dumb, and confusing, but there you have it. I hate to have so many quotes in my reply, but ti is all relevant. I had the time and inclination to sit on hold with SE support for 45 minutes this afternoon in regards to this exact issue. I was helped by a very tired but friendly guy named Daniel, and I was able to properly explain the issue to him. The issue is that due to server limitations, the system is automatically off-loading NA users to the EU site. Yes, I know, you've clicked the American flag and attempted to login with your typical Square-Enix account, but it still takes you there. Clearing cookies doesn't help, refreshing doesn't help. The good news is that SE is aware of this, and they essentially want you to wait it out until the server capacity drops a bit. Not everyone is having this issue, and it doesn't seem to be as high priority as the "Something went wrong, please try again later" error. If you look at the fine print on the bottom of that screen you can see that the domain you've entered is registered in London. A fellow RPCer went through all of the same steps without issue, so just keep trying. TL;DR ~ Don't worry about it, try again late. Love, Squee
23. Following Desmond's eyes, Kalye looked up the hill to see their new visitors. The site of the small Lalafell bounding happily towards them on the back of a Carbuncle took him aback. He couldn't help himself as a tremendous grin spread across his cracked lips and he let out a bellowing laugh. The young Miqo'te's touch had brought him much comfort, and he happily stretched his arm with a nod. "Well done, you. I'll have Redwind bring your bird, I think it's safe now" he smiled at her. He pulled a small whistle from his belt and gave 2 sharp trills as he slowly made his way to the newcomers. The oddly happy little one began to discuss food and provisions with Amaare while her Roegadyn companion took watch from a nearby perch. "Hail there, your charity is most welcome here, little one. I fear you've caught us in a state of recovery. The desert can be an unforgiving place; I'm glad to see you're not travelling alone." Turning to the watchful guardian, he acknowledged her and said "I thank the Twelve you came upon us, but I must ask; what brings you this deep into the desert at this hour?" The site of the happy duo with an offering of food and a picnic here in the middle of all this death and carnage was a reminder that life persists on, and moments like these were worth protecting, even if a bit morbid.
