  1. I'll await feedback on the matter of the topic's legitimacy from the other moderators but personally I see no issue with the topic itself, and so it will remain open. However, just because you are of the impression that the topic would not be permitted does not give anyone the right to intentionally derail or criticise it's presence. Report the thread and be done with it. Making claims about what is allowed and what isn't is more in line with the term backseat moderating if I recall correctly - not making rules within the topic itself. This has been allowed in the past, even outside of RP threads, and I do not see any reason for it to be discouraged so long as it has purpose and meaning. Until further notice, please keep things civil and on-topic and abide by the requested instructions. Edit: For clarity, the following two rules... ...do not condone flaming or any other form of negative discourse. Natalie has explicitly stated that no post should step outside of the general forum rules while also requesting that no-one be indirectly referenced to from outside of the topic. People who choose to post open themselves up for discussion which may reference particular behaviours. This is a grey area but so long as it is kept civil them the topic itself may be permitted. Confirmation from other moderators will decide the outcome of the topic. Regardless, the topic will be watched closely so compose your posts carefully even with all of that being said.
  2. If they were whites/NQ, it's a pretty big gap. If they were dungeon pinks/greens, it's not as big of a deal. Anything more than 10 levels you will start to notice extreme differences in ability, no matter how good each player is. Mmn.... most likely had at least 1-2 dungeon drops I guess. I'm still not entirely sure either way but I do remember that I would sometimes go for a number of levels before a new upgrade showed up. Having said that, I've levelled a number of character so I could be thinking of non-tanks either. Ah, ignore my post then, OP!
  3. I am not entirely sure about what level my gear was, I typically upgraded gear as was offered to me through MSQs, but level 20 gear at a level 28 dungeon doesn't sound too bad to me(?) Maybe I am mistaken though. I see what you were going for here, but without some actual and legitimate contribution of your own, your post just comes off as rude and dismissive of the OP's concerns. Please avoid that in the future.
  4. Have you made an account on a different region? In any case, my preorder code(18-digit) is getting returned with "Invalid" ; Which code are you using for what? I thought I remember seeing EU members get only the one code which isn't the same as NA members way back when pre-orders started. The thing is that I seem to be running off an NA account from back when I tried to play 1.0 during the free period (but ultimately couldn't), so while I am from the EU, I purchased from the NA store and am attempting to validate it on the NA preorder site. Also, I accidentally attempted it through the EU site when it redirected me to my region automatically as well, so that doesn't work either.

  6. I believe the arcanist/scholar/whatever Tonberry in Wanderer's Palace says something different if you also have the class/job unlocked once you pass him after the first boss.
  7. I need it on my Warrior, Paladin and Dragoon.... so if anyone needs help and you're short one any one of those roles then I'll happily steal the opportunity so long as I can make the window!
  8. I'll consider sending Andre that way should he find himself worrying about Clover who I think will be going there for reasons.
  9. *sigh* God dammit, Warren...! In any case, please avoid bringing anyone's posting history or habits into other topics. So long as it is a legitimate and healthy discussion then it should not matter. If you believe that any recurring themes are actually damaging or causing conflict then simply report it and share your concerns. In this case, everything is perfectly fine. As for me, I was thinking of forehead-pressing myself once I saw the horns my character was dealing with. I like that concept, I find it quite unique and cute.
  10. I don't really see why anyone would be interested in the Warrior job. I mean, it's not really any different from marauder. It's just following some specific techniques from a very specific tribe. I'm sure anyone could make up their own version of that if they simply liked the concept. To me it's like someone saying: "I learned to be a pro lancer from the Hipparion Sunseeker tribe. I am no longer a lancer... I am 'the' lancer". I mean... okay, fine.... but you could just as easily make up any other tribe and there and not stick specifically to what Gorge's story entailed. SPEAKING OF WHICH... someone just called him Curious George. Maybe it was intentional but his actual name is Curious Gorge... which is really, really sad. I think I got all the way to the level 50 quest before realising, if not long after it. I still call him George though.
  11. ((Music for the tale - Continued)) It was as if the very world around him faded away in that moment, sinking away out of sight as the familiarly impressive, stone structures of Ul'dah swiftly replaced them; brick by brick - each cleanly stacking atop the last with soft 'clunks' to form the numerous corinthian pillars and arches that were reminiscent of his home city's design. Familiar, yet unfamiliar was the scene being created before his very eyes, as the simple tale stole him away into another world - one more beautiful and serene than Andre could have ever thought imaginable. Each softly spoken word uttered by the now, unseen narrator of this tale, seemed to brush a vibrant colour into the world with a delicacy that only the tender care of her feminine voice could achieve, bringing each piece of the world below to life as it was given due attention through a honeyed tone. The aesthetically-pleasant carvings of Ul'dahn architecture continued to build up around him into tall structures until he was eventually enveloped by the nostalgically, sweet and sandy scent of freshly-chiselled stone as it filled the warm, Thanalan air all around him. He breathed deep of it's homely scent, it's welcoming allure bidding the visiting hyur whom floated harmlessly above to draw in closer toward the tranquil scene that was now unfolding before his very eyes below him. With a gentle descent, the hyur drifted downward into a small, open area found amidst the buildings, descending along with the dry and weightless veils of freshly puffed dust from the cinnamon structures whom continued to form all around him. It was when he found himself but only a few feet from the ground that the sweet, stony scent was then greeted by the incomparably, fresh aroma of newly blooming flora below. With an expression of absolute awe, the hyur's feet noiselessly met with the winding, cobble path which steered through the modest emerald secret that lay hidden amongst the cloisters. Throughout the lush vision of green, an innumerable variety of exotic colours both passed through and bordered it's delicate world against the city of stone that lay beyond - ignorant and unnoticing to the fragile treasure contained within. Like little families of their own, many groups of flowers were arranged together, appearing in colourful sets to create wondrous patterns among both themselves and the carefully trimmed grass that lay between. Andre blinked slowly as he became more and more enwrapped in the world around him. The abundantly, fresh scents steadily growing more real by the second. The mysterious and soft trickling sound of water droplets lightly pattering upon the leaves nearby... and even the surreal appearance of a small, snowy-white butterfly whose presence in these parts would not have even been thought possible were it not for the existence of this one, little piece of paradise that lay like a forgotten gem, hidden deep within the barren lands that surrounded them. The hyur's sapphire gaze followed behind the tiny, white wings as it floated forward with a curiously unsteady pattern through the breeze-less air until it finally led his eyes towards the presence of another, before floating away out of sight. Andre's gaze now focused upon the unfamiliar figure residing obliviously but only a few steps away from him. A young man, one no older than himself no doubt, whom was carefully tending to a particular set of flowers before him while gently sprinkling them with a light shower of water from a steel cannister. The crystalline stream which stemmed forth shimmered and sparkled magnificently in the morning's glorious light that shone done from above, with Azeyma's divine and nurturing gaze refusing to cast so much as a single, corrupting shadow across the mystical world she would have seemed to so dearly protect below. It was almost with an anxious hesitation that Andre would eventually allow himself to move forth, fearful of disrupting the enchanting scene as though it were anything more than a vivid image painted within his own mind. With phantom steps, the hyur noiselessly drew closer, creeping up from behind as his own curiosity bid him to steal a closer look. It was then, that the frail voices could be heard. Curious little things as they were, like a brief and simple message that was softly whispered within one's own mind, unheard by the outside world; a secret exchange of fleeting thoughts. He could hear them.... not merely through Clover's voice, but as voices of their own. He was there. There with her grandfather in that moment... many, many years back through time. They would even continue like that for a spell, speaking further of other thoughts, other messages that the hyur could have imagined they might have said - even beyond what Clover herself would share with him. They continued, albeit not for long... as the final voices drained out within his mind with a diluting echo and the world in which he had momentarily become a part of stretched further and further away out of reach. Andre was returned to the present - for the time being at least - now posed with a simple question, directly from that same voice, the voice that had created such a world. Unable to blink and naturally overcome with complete awe from the surreal experience, Andre hesitated for a moment, almost returning Clover's gaze with a mere blank expression before finally replying to her, not with words, but with a subtle yet eager nod of his head.
  12. Andre's motion drew to a gradual halt as Clover began explaining to him; albeit in a manner that would only leave quite a number of details to the imagination. With her explanation came a rather distinct tone, one that seemed to carry a mixture of feelings within itself as the girl gave her rather simple reply - the reservation of which seemingly coming off stronger than any other, of which only made Andre the more curious as to what she were actually trying to tell him. As the girl posed him with a question of her own, Andre couldn't help but linger on a single, particular detail for a brief moment. Perhaps he were simply overthinking the matter, but her choice of wording had given him the odd impression that what she was referring to was no ordinary book, and honestly speaking, when it came to this girl in particular, such a thing would not seem quite so surprising. After the briefest of junctures, his airy gaze would then lightly find it's upward from the book to meet with Clover's in that moment and, with a soft expression that silently told of his curiosity and intrigue, Andre gave a simple nod of his head in reply. As ever, Clover had completely stolen his interest.
  13. Please don't resort to ad hominems to try and discredit others and/or validate your own point. It's a rude and unnecessary way to argue a differing viewpoint.
  14. Happy birthday, Yoshiiidaaaaa!!!
  15. If Clover attends, then as will I ^^ We'd be both coming as our lalafel whom are companions of sorts... albeit very silly(at least mine is), I hope that's okay!
  16. That sounds so ominous... *paranoid* But yes! Welcome to the forum and the community, Kudgo ^^ As has been mentioned, making a character on Balmung would typically be considered raid content in itself, so you should be prepared for the possibility of going with Gilgamesh should you not be able to get online during the key times that Balmung usually opens. If it is your preference however, then I wish you luck with it. Having said that, some days it can be incredibly forgiving so it's definitely not impossible! In any case, welcome once more and should you have any questions then feel free to ask here or make a topic about it.
  17. No no, you'll always find a way to offend someone. There's no really avoiding that and there's no sure way to keep everyone from feeling targeted at one point or another. The key word in that example was the plural. Having said that, even if your point is entirely legitimate and a single person is getting agitated about it then please do at least consider paying closer attention to how you word your next posts and/or clarify that you are not trying to be difficult/rude. It's subjective to context. Though you are right that it can very often be a legitimate comment that I am sure I have said plenty of times myself. I was simply referring to it in the circumstances where you are attempting to rudely discredit a poster or their topic and very possibly antagonise them. I think Natalie has legitimate concerns. Please give her the benefit of the doubt, I can see how certain things can be quite unclear. No, you misunderstand. In fact, altering a post because people didn't like it's phrasing or were misinterpreting it would be highly encouraged. If people were reporting you for making a very vicious and rude post or two, however, and you denied having said anything of the sort, then you are covering your own trail to try and evade repercussions for stepping out of line. That's what is against the rules. Think of it like creating an alternate account just to make a flame post.
  18. I do not understand what you are getting at here. Are you implying that there is actually a method of tackling unfavourable posts/attitudes without being subjective in some form or another? Moderators have to try and maintain a neutral ground and make the decisions on what is tolerable and what is not. These kinds of thing will never be entirely objective because everyone has a different version of what that means. Calling someone's argument stupid or pointless would be considered blunt and inconsiderate(technically it's also a bit rude, yes, but I think people can get past that so long as it's not recurring). Calling someone stupid and annoying for having a certain opinion is rude and encourages animosity. For obvious reasons, that is not tolerable and does not help the community in any shape or form. I'm sorry if my previous post was unclear - as am I should this one be just as bad.
  19. "Ahah, thank you" he replied simply before then carefully guiding his hand over the nearest hollow in the soil and lightly tipping the collection of seeds inside with a gentle, spiralling motion. "It must seem so simple to you, but I've never actually planted anything before. ....It's silly, but..." Andre trailed away with an amused, albeit embarrassed exhale. Even while feeling confident after having seen such tasks handled in the past by his house's caretakers, he couldn't help but feel innocently anxious for the next few moments as he silently doubted himself and awaited any hint from Clover that he had done anything incorrectly. Even still, his modest smile only grew wider for the silly experience as he peered into the hollow for the time being, almost as though he were admiring the incredibly, simple result of handiwork. Though his reason for coming here had certainly not been forgotten, it was slowly becoming more manageable to push it to the back of his mind for the time being. Even acknowledging that much, however, he was still awaiting any opportunity to bring it up with a keen vigilance. After a moment, Andre then, decidedly, began reaching for yet another palm-full of seeds only to find himself stopping mid-motion as something catches his eye. "...ah, that book...." he suddenly speaks with a curious and inquiring tone as his sapphire eyes meet with the leather-bound object lying next to Clover atop the soft, carpet of emerald - at a safe distance from the soil. "Haven't I seen you with it before...?" he asks while keeping his airy gaze floating upon the object.
  20. If you're being blunt and perhaps inconsiderate then you likely won't get an official warning. If you're being rude and perhaps offensive then you likely will get an official warning. If you're being blunt and inconsiderate on a regular basis, then you run the risk of earning an official warning on the basis that you're being consistently antagonistic and seemingly not learning when to back off from certain topic(s). We all understand that some people are more lenient toward being brash and don't like sugar-coating their words. So long as it's not outright rude then you almost certainly won't be punished for such behaviour. If you fail to tone it down a bit or back out of a topic when it's clear that you're beginning to offend people rather than simply disagree with them, then you are venturing into punishable territory.
  21. Limiting design options because previous races didn't have as many sounds absolutely ridiculous to me. If they were really concerned about that then they should just add an extra option or two for other races further down the line. Frankly, Au Ra have no extra options. Like miqo'te, they don't even have muscle definition sliders, so I think that covers the limbal ring and colour additions. They also have fewer tail options than miqo'te if I recall correctly. Would the single addition of choosing horns independently really upset people? I highly doubt it... and even if they believed that it might, I think it would be absurdly silly for them to hold back because of it. As such, I don't think that's why horns and faces are linked - and I certainly hope it isn't.
  22. You should get a message with a link to the post in question along with the specific violation should you ever when you next do something bold ^^
