Here's K'nahli's ~ Halone, the Fury — What is your character passionate about? ● Archery and the thrill of the hunt. Menphina, the Lover — Does your character have any lovers? ● No. Thaliak, the Scholar — What topics or subjects does your character like to learn about? ● Stories, both fact and faction about the greater world outside of her tribe. Nymeia, the Spinner — Does your character have any extraordinary skills in crafting? ● No. Llymlaen, the Navigator — What is your character’s dream vacation? Where would they go? Who or what would they bring with them? ● She's curious about many places, including the dense forests of Gridania, but I think mostly she'd like to at least visit the sea. Oschon, the Wanderer — Where is your character from? Where do they consider their home to be now? ● Sagolii was and is her true home. She has her doubts that she will ever consider her new settlement as anything of the sort, though she does not foresee their circumstances changing for a long, long time. Byregot, the Builder — What are the building blocks of your character’s personality from their childhood that determines their reactions and behaviors as an adult? ● K'nahli suffered trauma and heartbreak. It resulted in her becoming colder and largely isolating herself, emotionally, from many of her own tribekin Rhalgr, the Destroyer — If your character had the power, what would they destroy? ● K'rahto Azeyma, the Warden — Who has been the most important role model in your character’s life? ● … She loved almost everything about her tia friend, K'yhaega, but ultimately I think it would have still been her father. Nald’thal, the Traders — What does your character do for a living? What is their favorite job to work on? What is their least favorite job to do? ● Huntress. Nophica, the Matron — Describe your character’s parents? Who is their mother? Who is their father? ● K'yohko, her father, is nunh of her particular tribe. He is a stoic and distant individual but one with a good heart - even if they have grown apart since the calamity. K'nihqa, her mother, is a relatively kind individual and a powerful huntress. Though not the quiet type, she keeps to herself for most affairs and obediently follows the rest of the tribe and elders in their decisions. Althyk, the Keeper — If your character could go back into the past and change one thing, what would it be and why? ● Force K'yhaega to stay at home and not participate in the Battle of Cartenau

Please excuse the terribly bad and lazy editing but I was inspired to make this after taking the screenshot seen in the second panel, haha ; He does look like a super antagonist though! *Is hopeless* ;;

I have no problem with RP'ers who happen to ERP but I admit that I just get annoyed whenever I see an actual ERP'er; probably largely do to the fact that almost every, single one of them just happen to be miqo'te - and while I know I should just ignore it, I can't help but feel my main's race is just the victim of some debaucherous image and I already despise the stigma that miqo'te are, for whatever reason, often slapped with. Even the terms "Catgirls" and "Catbois" have started grating on my nerves a little lately. I like looking at roleplayers and seeing what their comments are or just to see if anyone is an RP'er in general, though whenever I see a miqo'te in hempen underwear or whatever I just find myself hoping in vain that it's not another one. I've seen SO many in the Quicksand lately and it just throws me for some reason. Especially when you're just there, enjoying the scene in the Quicksand(OOCly in my case) and then you notice there are two people targeting each other next to you and doing... twelve knows what.. I don't know. I guess it's just that I love this game and the sweet and innocent(outside of the story) nature it almost perpetually carries along with it. Seeing people turning it into a porn experience for themselves just turns me off.... especially when there's at least one character out there who doesn't look too, f*cking unlike mine. Maybe I'm just being a judgemental prude about this particular topic though. I just hold a few things "sacred" and it annoys me to see people sully it into something else. There's actually a game set to come out in the future that a friend and I intend to play and it's one of the most innocent things imaginable, but due to the fact it allows you to create your own worlds/towns/levels and such, didn't the developers find themselves receiving and answering this question that was listed along with another 20 or so submitted by fans of the upcoming production.... "Is it permissible for users to create their own hentai games?" I have no fear or dislike for sex but jesus... why must it be brought into absolutely everything by these people? *headdesks*

It's not about origin, it's about it being made extra difficult to have a creative story as to what you are doing here and why. It's not about my own characters or Clover's for what matter(whose is the initial point I was trying to explain), but rather explaining away this sudden influx if Auri appearing all of a sudden because "something happened and we needed to travel!", "I hail from the XXXX tribe and to determine the worth of these lands" or even "I just felt like exploring". For me personally, while I'd love to incorporate as much of the lore as possible into my story, I'll have to see how that will work with the original concept I had. I'm not really worried for myself. I was just wondering what's going to stop any of my characters from asking themselves why a ton of people from a particularly isolated race suddenly got struck with a potent wanderlust. I recall us dealing with exactly that as Miqo'te. You'll be fine. Hahaha. I never had to deal with that so I underestimated how commonplace it was I guess. Perhaps it's my turn now! -
Heavensward Jobs, and Au Ra Lore now available
K'nahli replied to Avalt Laguz's topic in FFXIV Discussion
The singular examples, while nice, don't really help the issue much when you consider the sheer volume or Auri a lot of us are expecting to see injected into the community - all of whom will likely see little, other alternative than to turn to some generic excuse for whey they are even here. Imagine if 80-90% of every miqo'te in-game had in their backstory that they were tribal but then "left"... wouldn't that start feeling a little bland after a while? That's kind of the point I think. -

I may have to be ignored then. The concern, at least, is still valid ^^ -

But you can play them! You just have to be alright with having reduced tribal connections and/or no wars to fight. Or, making a big tribe with other players and finding rivals. I admit that it's not comfy for roleplayers, but remember that the player character is supposed to be coming to Eorzea as an adventurer, not as one of the rank-and-file citizens. Haha, of course we can, but returning back to Clover, that was her concern. She likes adhering to lore and not neglecting the unique story/personalities it can give us, hence why she plays her miqo'te as a tribal. She was looking forward to adopting Auri lore on to her own character that will be from the Xaela clan but now she is forced to largely ignore it - as will most everyone else. (Sorry for being unclear!) But you can play them! Couldn't another Xaela tribe have fled (or maybe one of its last members) to Eorzea and yours came after them? Or sent you? Then your character is effectively still having those tribal connections (you're on a mission from your tribe, after all) and you have a war-related plot hook (especially if your target gathers up allies or weasels their way into a hard to reach place a la Taeros). Very interesting indeed... -
Heavensward Jobs, and Au Ra Lore now available
K'nahli replied to Avalt Laguz's topic in FFXIV Discussion
Well, yes, but Nunhs. If you're going to play one, you should have a good reason why you're not doing the lore-expected thing you should be doing. Those Au Ra are warlike and fight their tribal battles. If you want to do that, you won't be in Eorzea. So don't roll that character...? I see your point, but this is definitely PEBKAC. Nunhs is an odd case in my opinion. If you leave your tribe, even temporarily then you're not going to hold the title anymore. It makes no sense to. People(IC) just choose to anyways, out of pride or something perhaps but they're kidding themselves really. In other words, it's not really an issue for them, people(OOC) just sometimes seem to choose to take the route that makes less sense(at least those who don't accept that it's just a false title). For Xaela.... well, plainly put there is nothing they can do about their lore situation without taking massive liberties about it. You're saying "don't play" them but that's precisely the issue! -
Heavensward Jobs, and Au Ra Lore now available
K'nahli replied to Avalt Laguz's topic in FFXIV Discussion
Clover said her problem was that, were she to create an Au Ra from that clan, then she'd have to write it off as though her tribe were not involved in any sort of war - if she were even still part of one. Your response was basically citing this exact same problem as a reason why the lore won't work. It sounded like you were refuting her point by somehow using her own point when ultimately that only meant that you were both of the same understanding! Hence, you are a silly sausage. -

To be fair, if your character did have a tribe and a war, you wouldn't be in Eorzea. Warren, you're a total sausage. -

While that sounds interesting and I'd LOVE to see people engaging in tribal-related lore unlike they did with the miqo'te... I have to say that I am a little more concerned with aesthetics first and foremost. I know skin tones are very lenient in a sense in FF, but I'll have to see. I still don't know what I want and I know that I won't until that damn benchmarksgetsreleasedwhereismybenchmarkwhere? -
Reasoning for irregular race/nationality combinations
K'nahli replied to Seriphyn's topic in RP Discussion
I'm quite partial to believing that everyone in the room was an elezen solely to make it look 'better' as a more unified, congregate of elite soldiers. All of them the same, in the same armour, each with perfectly in-synch timing and precision - with no height discrepancies messing up that perfect image. -
Hahaha, what? I can just see someone struggling to get their sword at the right angle, holding out out in front of them with one eye closed and failing to get the direction of the beam right. "JUST WAIT... I'm trying to do something clever..."

(I love the level 50 botany set one. My God, I have such a crush on that character, haha)...

+85 aggro Were I to RP combat, I wouldn't reference in-game skills. I'd just explain exactly what I had in mind, totally of my own creation. I mean it's fine if you want to reference something because you like it but I wouldn't actually use them as though they are the actual techniques your instructors would have taught you, haha. That said, they both imply aether-enhanced attacks, something of which none of my current characters actually utilize.

K'nahli Yohko: K'nahli is a 17 year old miqo'te huntress belonging to a sect of the Hipparion sunseeker tribe in the Sagolii desert. Though having always tended a little more to the quiet side, she isn't what one would consider "anti-social" and would actually have been considered quite warm and friendly in her younger years. The calamity brought with it a drastic change in her behaviour however, after it killed off and maimed a great majority of her tribe, including a tia whom she greatly respected and had an innocent, romantic attraction to. Since then, she has closed herself off from most people and is generally perceived as a bit cold and with a quick temper. She has a passion for archery and has made a habit of training every day from a young age. So too does she love tales of the outside world, both fact and fiction, and is fascinated by many of the things it has to offer. Andre Winter: Andre is a 20 year old hyur whom originally hails from Ul'dah. Born a son to a wealthy banker, Andre has grown up with a very, refined lifestyle. His father had always had aspirations for him to one day join the Sultansworn, and so Andre trained under private instructors with the intention of one day joining the Immortal Flames for a few years to earn some military experience before then transferring over to the Sultansworn. Due to an unforeseen incident however, Andre saw himself fleeing Ul'dah and then took up residence in Gridania where he would later see himself instead lending his aid to the Twin Adder on their own military exercises, though he has not officially enlisted in their ranks. Andre has a strong love for nature; particularly the incredibly, unique landscape that the Black Shroud has to offer and as such, he spends a great deal of his spare time outside appreciating it's beauty. Alex Hawthorn: Alex is a 23 year old hyur whom was born in La Noscea but has spent most of his growing-up life in Ul'dah. A son to a man whom had succumbed to the vice of alcohol and to a mother whom did not make it past childbirth, Alex had little choice but to quickly adapt and learn to be independent from a very, young age. Though having little moral guidelines to adhere to, the boy quickly learned that he was adverse to the more criminal aspects of life and sought to develop some true worth to his life so that he may honourably sustain himself as opposed to falling to the point where one lived off of mere scraps as his father had allowed himself to. It was as Alex grew a little older than he became more aware of his proficiency in combat, particularly with axes. Heeding the advice of some of the acquaintances he had since made, he pursued that path in earnest and over the years developed himself into a startlingly, reputable combatant for his age. Seeing profit and perhaps even purpose in this, the boy more actively took upon the task of mercenary work and continues this lifestyle to this day. Alex is a rather stoic and inexpressive individual. He seems unphased and borderline uninterested in many of the activities that people would typically get up to in their down time. Though he has many acquaintances and contacts, he has seldom ever met anyone he could consider a friend and for the few that did, those ties eventually found themselves stretched thin with time, if not fate. Due to his upbringing, Alex can be rather indifferent to typical feelings, emotions and viewpoints on global matters such as altruism and illogical compassion for loved ones. K'taynu Tia: K'taynu is a 19 year old miqo'te hunter belonging to the same sunseeker tribe that K'nahli does. He has always held an ambitious and competitive personality even from a young age, and as such, he worked hard to prove himself as a skilled warrior whenever it came to training as young child. Being the product of an illegitimate conception(i.e his father was not a nunh), he was sometimes treated by his peers as different and 'weaker-by-blood', which only gave him added incentive to strive to prove himself more worthy than anyone else. The effects of calamity stole his father from him and, in his attempts to find him, only found himself becoming lost in the unfamiliar sands. He wandered for as long as his legs would carry him before he eventually collapsed and was later rescued by another nomadic and highly isolated tribe. In spite of this, his rescuers could not help point him in the right direction when he was well enough to so much as consider travelling and at the relatively young age of 14, he knew that he had no hope of surviving were he to so much as try. As a result, he spent the next five years residing with the small tribe. Despite their overwhelming indifference to outside interaction, they were able to help him further hone his talent with the lance, turning him into the potent hunter he is today. K'taynu is currently attempting to find his way back to his home tribe after having been informed of a possible clue as to their whereabouts. Though his primary concern for the moment is reuniting with his true family, his aspirations to become nunh will not be long returning, and though borderline arrogant, his confidence is not without merit. Lulani Manani: Lulani is a ???? year old lalafel noble originating from Ul'dah. He possesses an extremely vibrant and juvenile personality and has the ability to be both incredibly naive and air-headed as a result of his total innocence. He is often found in the company of another lalafel girl called Nonopi Nopi whom, as decided on the very spot upon first laying eyes on her, he is totally, head-over-heels in love with. One day when she was out tending to her own business, the boy accidentally tumbled from the small hill he was crouching on from up above as he kept an eye on her. Having no excuse for why he was evidently spying on her, the boy blatantly came clean and pleaded for her to allow him to accompany her as an assistant or bodyguard of sorts. The girl was reluctant but saw some use in the arrangement and belligerently agreed. Lulani can be shy around other lalafel girls, particularly pretty ones, but ultimately he has no real interest in anyone besides Nonopi and has pledged his (relatively large!) heart to helping her in any way possible - despite the immense levels of fail and clumsiness such attempts always result in. I'll add descriptions to the others later zzzZZZZzzzzzzz Annnd done!

Nice work! I remember I was trying to write songs for my character when I originally conceptualized him as a bard, but I don't know anything about song writing and was basically just gunning for rhyming lyrics, haha. I admit... I was a little disappointed at first because I came in here expecting a miqo'te tribal song of sorts(which would be amaaaazingg) but this was so, very cute. I adore Little Solace Ones! Edit: OH YOU ACTUALLY MADE ONE...

Yes! This was always my concern when I was interested in RP'ing scenes with random people(i.e. anyone from the community) that would involve combat situations.

There's too large of a jump between 4 and 5 so unfortunately mine won't be very specific, though I'll try. K'nahli - Approximately 4.5 ~ Very respectable but limited by environment and foes faced. Andre - Approximately 4.2 ~ Impressive abilities borne from elite training under both the Immortal Flames and Sultansworn. Alex - Approximately 3.7 ~ Highly impressive and natural affinity for his style. Incredibly difficult opponent to face though not someone who would easily walk out of a situation with 5+ of anything because that's just silly... for a non-aether user anyways. Lulani - Approximately 5 ~ Though not helpless, the marmot example doesn't sound far off. K'taynu - Approximately 4.3 ~ Impressive abilities with an affinity for the lance. Limited, however, by environment and foes faced. Au Ra - Approximately 3.3 ~ Though not untouchable and certainly not "the best there has ever been", brute strength, raw talent, experience and a fearless nature make him a highly, threatening foe. Likely makes some use of aether. Even large numbers of foes(5+) might be manageable.

God I hate how fast the sheathing animation is. It makes cutscenes look ridiculous to me, haha.
