  1. Not sure why raise would cause issues. Again, assuming some people roleplay combat using actual in-game skills in their writing, then "raise" would just be the equivalent of healing an unconscious/incapacitated player and attempting to quickly restore them to fighting condition upon waking(though that sounds a bit awful, haha).
  2. K'nahli has a very, mild curiosity about K'rahto Tia after he confessed some scarily, open feelings toward her in a not-so-sublte way. Not sure about Andre. Alex has never felt anything for anyone. Lulani is practically in love with Nonopi. Puppy-love totally counts. Au Ra will be entirely devoted to his long-time, travelling companion with whom he practically reveres as his master.
  3. I've done it at least once by pure chance not too long after reading about it - obviously with no intention to actually try it. It was kind of amusing but I woke myself up shortly after. I've heard people got really scared because they encountered mirrors in their dreams and the reflections were sometimes deformed, haha. That and tons of stories about this "evil presence" that would sometimes appear that made them extremely uncomfortable and blah-di-blah.
  4. If you want you can tell me what your daily GC requirements are for leatherworker through Moogle mail and/or tell me what items you need for whatever leve you want to spam and I'll send them over to you asap.
  5. Sorry for being unclear, I meant the former. If you kill off a character and fantasia them into a new Au Ra then that would be considered new. I was asking because I heard that many people were deciding that their characters were Au Ra all along or ICly became one through fantasia-styled means - which is fine, but I'd hate to think that this was the case for a significant portion of the community since it would be a bit like the miqo'te situation and how there seem to be so few, tribals around. Non-tribals are vital and great to see but sadly it ended up feeling as though the actual lore got neglected ICly or OOCly(and by that I mean it didn't garner a lot of interest). Lore makes things exciting so I'd feel pretty disappointed if there where a handful of people conforming to whatever lore is thrown out for the Au Ra and then everyone else is practically indistinguishable from any other person outside of appearances. Anyways, that's merely the reason. Let's not start talking about miqo'te again, haha. Edit: OP has been modified. I hope it reads more clearly now!
  6. Lol I just post the issue and it opens I will never forget you for this TwT ;;;;
  7. That's pretty reasonable, haha. I admit I was tempted to get a character to the point where they join a GC just so I can skip the chocobo-less period(because some genius had the idea to lock out mounts altogether even on alts T-T My double mount has even less meaning like this @@)
  8. I just can't seem to find an opening time anymore. I just logged in and did a search only to find that there was something like 85 people afk'ing in the three city states alone though, at this time of day.... and I just can't help but wonder how many of them just leave their computers on all day instead of logging out ; Are restrictions also related to the amount of people in the starting areas? Or is that no longer in effect? EDIT: IT JUST OPENED. I typed my name so fast... I hope I didn't make a mistake...
  9. Just out of curiosity, how many people here plan on RP'ing their Au Ra as brand new characters upon their release? To clarify, this refers to your character being a completely new character, independent to existing ones. Should you kill off your level 50 character in RP then fantasia and name change them to fit an Au Ra character, then that would be a "new" character. If like some people you're not certain if you'll be playing an Au Ra or even what style, then please vote for what you think is the most likely! ^^ [Mutiple choice for multiple Au Ra characters]
  10. I thought the MSQ referred to the cinematic heroes as the "Warriors of Light", so I always assumed that there were five of them, one representing you and the others, your party(whom you dungeon with if you have a static... i.e friends). As for 2.0, you are either a newcomer to Eorzea whom possesses the same prowess the missing heroes had, or you are in fact one of them. Not exactly 100% sound but they were hardly imagining this from an RP perspective. Anyways... as always, I'll still be among the other group of people whom first say: "But... why is WHM/BLM/whatever necessary exactly? Why is CNJ/THM/whatever not good enough?" I'll never tell anyone what to RP, nor will I condemn them for their choices but why so many people - who wish to involve themselves with unplanned RP outside of a set group - insist on breaking/stretching lore for unnecessary reasons continues to baffle me. Unless you are someone who RPs the ACTUAL skills you get in-game like.... ....then I don't understand why the WHM title is necessary. Also, for the record, I doubt many people would bat an eye even if you did RP like that and used job skills when you played as a class.
  11. Warren Castille... even though there's probably nothing any of our characters would have to talk about nor have anything to make them enjoy each other's presence. Also F'raneh Yamir, but she is a Spanish RP'er so.... barriers... Edit: Also, any shy characters. I don't know why but I find myself so mesmerised by people who are bahving very shy in public RP.
  12. Yes, I know what you meant ^^ Marraco is the Coerthan A rank.
  13. Really? Last time I logged in at Behemoth's Domain an saw Maracco nearby. Granted he had his back turned to me but I walked up to him and petted him (^^) I love him and the similar models from Stone Vigil. The way they swing their tails as though they are always so happy is too adorable.
  14. Just the three ranks. B ranks, as far as I know, respawn practically as soon as you kill them since they are actively sought out by people wanting to complete those mark bills and they go down quickly. Everything else is static in the sense that each zone has it's own A rank and S rank in addition to their B ranks. For example, Western La Noscea has a crab thing as it's A Rank and a giant Buffalo thing as it's S rank. I forget the names, but they're always the same so after a while you'll know which is which just by looking at them.
  15. I'm shaking with hype and love ;;;;;; The areas look so amazing and beautiful..... Relic II Bard is just.... and the Relic II WHM hood for Clover... Dragons... Gryphon... DX11... Au Ra.... I just... literally have no idea what to do now. I feel far too distracted and phyiscally weak, hahahaha ;;;

    On Age

    Well, I suppose the outcome of this topic was inevitable. In any case, I doubt there is anything genuine left to add so I'll close the topic here given how it's now going. As a side note though. There is no need to be snarky toward someone just because you disagree with them. Particularly so when they, themselves, are not.
  17. Here are some links to a few past topics that brushed upon this subject in case you are interested ^^ Clan Mixing Half Elves Cross-species / Cross clans offspring
  18. That's certainly a good point in perhaps most cases ^^ However, I still don't think it erases the problem entirely. I mean, imagine if you were playing an immoral character who cared little for harming innocents and somehow wound up in that situation with people he/she didn't know. Would they really not solve the situation(by their standards) right away in order to break character and look out for people they couldn't care less about? (That's a lot of ifs and buts of course, but I just mean that they're the things that would always be at the back in my mind were I to find myself in a similar setup). What it really comes down to for me is... to keep it simple, let's say everyone involved is a melee combatant. What if X was really good and taking on several opponents at once whereas Y and Z could just about manage one or two at a time. Doesn't it somehow feel like Y and Zs contribution is heavily mitigated if they spend the best part of the scene dealing with 4-5 enemies between them while Z needs at least 10+ to do justice to his skill level? Do what's best for the story, is what I'd say. If you subscribe to the "everyone at the same tier has the same level of power" superhero comics logic, then if the story says that small group of Amalj'aa are a real threat, then they are. It's up to the player to decide how best to achieve that, whether it's by external circumstance ("they're wearing corrupted crystals -- my spells can't affect them"), internal conflict ("I was abused by Amalj'aa -- I just can't do this"), or pure bad luck ("I tripped and fell, losing my staff"). A key part of playing a powerful character in situations with less powerful characters is that you have to share the spotlight by only asserting the level of power necessary for the story in which you find yourself. That's one of the characteristics that separates a well-played powerful character from the "super-power wish fulfillment solves every problem" nightmare that everyone's seen far too many times. With that said, it can often be difficult to combine the stories of powerful characters with those that aren't powerful. The Avengers just aren't operating on the same level as the Runaways, for instance, and putting them into the same story requires the narrative chicanery outlined above to ensure that the Avengers just don't resolve the issue themselves. This is another reason why cross-FC or world-spanning plots tend to have issues -- with legitimately varying takes on the average power level of characters in the setting, it's almost impossible to write a plot that lets everyone participate in the manner they feel is appropriate for their character. You don't have these sorts of issues in "hangout RP" or events like the Grindstone where the dice specify the narrative and part of the RP challenge is making that work. I may be somewhat cynical in this regard through experience, though. ....having said what I have above, this is a pretty reasonable and easy workaround for just about anything, haha. I guess the best solutions are often the most simple! ^^ Thank you both for your replies ~
  19. That's incredibly cute, haha. Here's a commission I requested a long time ago of my character and her sister, K'mih Yohko(this was before there was an IG set I liked for K'nahli so I used random references, one being Minfilia's top, haha).
  20. I thought I replied in this. Anyways, I've always been wary of overpowered characters because I don't understand how they are supposed to meld well together with regular characters who lean more toward realism. Like, take for instance someone who, in previous scenes, used to drop numerous enemies like flies and now they find themselves in a situation where 2-4 people are surrounded by 4-5 Amalj'aa and are treating it like a very threatening situation... what is the OP character supposed to do? Stay true to his character and clean them all out swiftly and easily? Or downplay his character so that it doesn't eliminate the sense of tension/the scene in general for the others - in which case it just stops being a character's trait and more of a "I am OP when I can get away with it" card? While I'd agree in the case of self-proclaimed beautiful/pretty characters, funny characters, wise and witty characters, I'd draw a line at intelligence. I don't see any good reason why someone needs to be intelligent and very well-versed in the lore because they want to play a particularly smart character. Is it nice if they can live up to the title? Sure... but that's a pretty big expectation of them otherwise. In the case of personality quirks then they seem far more necessary because they rely a lot more on delivery and reception whereas people can conclude that someone is knowledgable or smart and perhaps OOCly help their character come up with ideas or offer advice for an IC scene if they struggle otherwise.
  21. that's why I liked the cr1tikal play of fnaf. He's just so unimpressed with jump scares it saps any scariness right out. Plus, he tells great stories. I adore Cr1itikal. He's the only LP'er I am subscribed to and watch. I recently did a marathon through most of his videos and need to get back to finishing it off soon. I can see how he might not fit everyones' tastes but he is just really entertaining for me, even if vulgar and crude at times. Plus.... he's just genuinely such a really, nice guy. With not keeping a cent of his partnership earnings and his naive aspirations with regards world corruption. It's just so endearing. Not forgetting the very seldom time you hear him laugh, the WHOLE comments section just bursts to life commenting on how it was such a mounumental occasion and how cute it was, hahaha. Not that this is the best example, but it's one of the most recent I had watched before stopping I think, and the point at around 7:20 just cracked me up with the way he speaks(and his choice of words). This is basically what you can expect for any scary game with it comes to Cr1itikal, Kage, even jumpscares. (Skip to around 7:00 or 7:20 and stop watching shortly after his encounter, if you wish to stop at all) (For a non-scary video, watch this from... lets say 3:00 to the end just so you get a bit of context. Maybe it's just me but the last enemy and his following rant just slayed me)
  22. Even were I to RP dungeons, I'd never actually imagine acting as though clothing just happens to drop there *laughs*
  23. I think he just meant that our replica Curtanas were made to look like the real deal through a lot of hardship whereas these decorative ones didn't go past the basics assuming they used similar methods, for obvious reasons. Also, is AF1 really a worn-out AF2? It seems odd that the Sultansworn would wear something that gave them a "dishevelled" appearance.
