  1. B-But your opinion is totally justified, of course! There lore explicitly implied that it can and does happen, simply not that often ^^
  2. I know you mentioned that it's only your opinion but... (taken from here) ...that's why most people don't associate nunh with being leaders. While strength is an admirable and welcoming trait to have in one's leader, I don't necessarily agree that it would generally make more sense for them to automatically take the role, especially if the tribe as a whole was aware that a nunh in particular wasn't exactly the wisest guy around.
  3. I'm having trouble understanding this notion really. Why would smell necessarily replace sight just because it was their dominant sense? In fact, to use a possible counter-argument, in the case of tribal miqo'te who typically value strength rather highly for the sake of procreation, being able to tell that someone is physically fit by simply looking at them would seem like something of more importance(and by extension, attractive) to them than seeing some scrawny hunter/huntress who happened to have a unique and pleasant scent nonetheless.
  4. As has been said, there are numerous threads for this but to briefly clarify, nunh's are typically not leaders according to the lore. If your character or any other female in the tribe wanted children then they'd be expected to go to the nunh and no other male - in an effort to produce only the fittest of offspring. That's it in a nutshell.
  5. You're telling me. Even an F5 refresh couldn't remedy Desu Nee's complete and merciless destruction of physics just now. Not even the protective confines of the forum's borders could stop such an assault. Where is Freelance? We need his LB3 down here asap.
  6. I'm a little jarred by the notion that nunh's are SO busy with procreation that they don't have time for anything else, even if they were trying to compete with modern-day China *amused* ...unless people are assuming that the pregnancy period in Seeker's is exceptionally shorter to humans, which we have no reason to believe is the case. As for the discussion about whether or not challenges happen 'that' frequently, I kind of imagine that tias would generally have the same respect for nunh's that females would. After all, they have proven themselves and strength is one of those seemingly, near-universally, respected traits among the tribal kin. I have difficulty imagining a scenario like: "Look, I know you beat me last week... but I really think that these past seven days have really made you significantly weaker and I deserve the position more than you now. So let's do this"
  7. Welcome to the forum and game ^^ If you have any questions then do not be shy to ask.
  8. Ehhh? No, if anything it was me who misunderstood, haha ; From an OOC senes then absolutely it makes sense. That one just flew straight over my head *laughs* Though tia would be easier to explain I hope you didn't feel "bullied" (to use a really OTT word) into choosing it by peoples' personal opinions ^^ In any case, I think it would come down the the nature of the tribe itself and the way in which they decided to leave, as well as the reason. While the Hipparion tribe isn't exactly highly strict(at least in my view), I doubt that they'd be happy to see people just leaving as they see fit, at least after the calamity - being that it decimated their numbers. I don't know if that would warrant an exile and the cold shoulder though. You could certainly play that one off as you like with little-to-no risk of getting an IC, second glance though, I imagine.
  9. Well, to be fair, becoming a nunh and then just walking out and and adventuring could be considered a bit like becoming a mayor of a town and then just suddenly leaving. As someone who challenged the former nunh to claim the title, that person took it upon themselves to decide that they wanted the role and were going to honour and respect it. Were it a situation where a nunh was decided upon involuntarily then I'd agree that it was restricted... but in the way you worded it, it would be more like: "Gahh! I no longer feel like fulfilling my role! Don't want!" But! I say that only against the point that they're restricted(I won't speak for tias); so by all means go with whatever route you please - you needn't worry so much about abiding to every bit of lore(though it is very nice that you are). Just have fun RP'ing! ^^ *Goes to sleep*
  10. I think attitude would have a lot to do with it as well. I can't imagine that any sensible tribeswoman would honestly agree into coupling with a nunh whom was hot-headed, arrogant and childish if such a person even made it to that position. They're simply not respectable traits, even if one is rather strong. It's never going to happen for you.
  11. I loved this part, but otherwise very nice post ^^
  12. This depends on your tribe I think. For our tribe, it's more or less forbidden to have physical, romantic contact if you are a tia, mostly out of the concern that it elevates to a point where conception is a possibility/risk. But otherwise of course they can be attracted to others. They don't suddenly become sentient when they becomes nunhs, haha ^^ I believe that's people simply having different perceptions. Some might think it's fine to assume that they can still be nunh, others might think that - since they were nuhn when they left the tribe - they still keep the name.... others, again, might simply be used to/prefer the sound of it as opposed to going back to tia. Also there was this one person recently who made a nunh character before becoming completely familiar with the lore but he didn't want to pay for a name change so he made something up to justify it.
  13. I agree with a lot of what everyone has said here. To me, the title of nunh is one of duty, honour and respect. He has proven himself to be the strongest(male at least) warrior in the tribe and as such, has the privilege of passing on his own lineage to the next generation. The idea of a nunh suddenly getting up and adventuring doesn't strike me as normal. Given that I'm sure nunh's would require a certain level of maturity and respect alongside their physical strength in order to have even been perceived as "worthy" of attaining the title, I can't imagine that one would just walk out on his tribe for selfish reasons without relinquishing his title at the very least. Nunh's revert back to tias if they are bested in combat which shows it's not some medal pinned to their chest for having at least claimed the title at some point. It serves to represent who you are in the tribe, what your duty is.... still is. Even if someone left their tribe for their own benefit, if it was going to be for a significant amount of time or to come with the risk of never returning, then I imagine a substitute would be appointed in the meantime. On the note of challenges, in our(Hipparion) tribe, contests are not intended to be mortal. Frankly, that seems counter productive to it's intent, no matter how barbaric a tribe in particular may be. As for romance, I don't see why sunseeker's can't fall in love. Just because role role of nunh requires impregnating more than one female, it doesn't necessarily mean that the are polyamorous by nature - but that is debatable. Granted that females and nunh alike need to come to terms with the fact that there is no such thing as entirely "faithful" relationships when compared against our modern perceptions of such, but I certainly would not come close to taking anything of the sort for granted.
  14. Nooo ~ I think powerful characters are of course justified in such cases! I wanted to have a very, strong character in this game initially(not my main) but in the end it didn't seem worth the trouble. I didn't know how to impose his strength and experience over other players and it's not that I wanted him to win all of the time; in fact, I wanted to watch him fail for the first time and see where it goes from there. Albeit I needed to have him win a lot first to get into his mindset and really experience his arrogance and confidence first-hand. However, I was just too worried about bringing that kind of RP to others though so I never got around to it and ended up remaking that character anyways. Edit: Also, Kat made a very, good post so I second everything that has been said in relation to your situation.
  15. You've basically created a route for those whom aren't as heavily-experienced as your character to still best him if necessary/that is your/their wish, so I'd say you're on the right track at least. While I have next to no experience with combat RP, I'd only say that be wary of what you're setting yourself up for. In theory the idea may sound great but you're also likely cutting off a lot of potential RP for those whom don't want to play with a super powerful character, whether they are your foe or not. Having said that, I'm sure you're already aware of that. Good luck in any case ^^
  16. I don't love the idea of RP-exclusive features like search. To me they just seem like a waste of time pursuing as opposed to things that can be used by the gaming community at large instead of one little niche that only gets laughed at(and therefore not highly supported) by the remainder of gamers. I think that may have been an old request but I thought I'd add my two cents in any case. What I want to know is why non-relic sets are class and dye locked under the excuse that the developers want to maintain a certain image in-game while snowmen, moooglemen and swimsuit models can serve as our tanks, dps and healers anyways. Give us total freedom of glamour with exception to the understandable.... relic gear and GC uniforms.
  17. Miii, sorry! I got a little caught up in myself. I should have done so sooner in your stead. In any case, let's try to keep to the topic in a general sense as opposed to the specific instance involving the other user ^^ In which case, to add my own very, brief input.... I must admit I am slightly of the opinion that I'd be wary knowing there was a male behind the screen of another female character if said female character was of a certain.... style. I'm a male myself so it's nothing to do with the gender itself but unfortunately it usually does seem to be male gamers that come off as creepy when it comes to certain areas.... and I say that as someone with zero experience with romance RP; just the general things you encounter in the wonderful world of online games - and perhaps the internet in general.
  18. *nods* I was only about to click onto the second page when I realised that it had been closed and split so I can't speak for the intent but I think you're right in that he shouldn't really remain the subject of the matter, even if he is no longer reading it. Having said that I'm sure it simply wasn't anticipated ^^ *Quickly flicks back through thread* Edit: It's subjective I think. From an outside point of view you can say that nothing particularly accusatory or mean was said but the tone of the messages, particularly so when they occur in bulk, can definitely be taken as harsh. At the end of the day, I personally don't think it's anyone's fault since everyone had the best intentions. Misunderstandings happen.
  19. Ah, it was more to do with the original OP's replies up to that point. I was of the firm impression that he was feeling ganged up on regardless of everyones' intent(not that I can blame him). In such a position, it's far easier to feel offended by terms with negative connotations - particularly so when they're being echoed repeatedly by multiple posters. No need to apologise though, I didn't mean to imply you were anywhere near in the wrong for doing so. You were just expressing your opinion, but it just didn't seem like something that was being received very well no matter how kindly you or anyone else put it.
  20. Regardless of my own personal thoughts on the matter, and with respect, terms like "weird" will likely only come across as antagonistic even if you do reinforce his freedom to do so with "you can do as you like" - especially since the OP isn't getting much support with his side of the opinion. It's possible that he's not much interested in discussing his opinion so much as defending it but I'm not sure if there is much else anyone can say to help emphasise that they only meant to help and advise. I think it's better you not stress yourself over the debate anymore, haha ^^ At least in the original OP's case.
  21. I like the first one. It kind of makes you sound like part of the cast of some sci-fi, action hit. ...and I'm sure the faint-hearted don't want to know about your hectic and stressful days. What you do may not be quite as glamorous as those in the midst of action, but you keep the ship running. You save lives on a daily basis.. *nods firmly*
  22. Congratulations on achieving such a feat! I don't RP much myself, especially in-game, but I hope that you can make contacts as soon as possible. Good luck (^^/
  23. I have a character named "Rogue Bandit" haha... sorry that I missed this, albeit he'd have been stuck with default adventurer gear anyways so perhaps that wouldn't have been ideal. Even if not him, I'll usually, happily take part in such a role so long as not too much is expected of me!
  24. I can't remember what I have posted here already so I'll post the one that I think is my most recent edit... This one is not really a spoiler, something a lot less than you'll see from any trailer but just in case... Alex Hawthorn And just for something more random.... Voyce played a trick on an oblivious Andre and gave him a concoction of different mating pheromones.... The result....
