Despite the abundance of replies indicating that they are not feeling supportive of all of the post's content, I can't really say that I got a negative impression from them. Erik referenced the topic. Some liked it, some only liked parts, most discussed it and ideas & thoughts flowed. Having said that, if I gave off such an impression then I am really sorry. The poster did put a lot of thought and work into it and they deserve recognition for that. I was just sharing my opinion that the concept is not wholly to my tastes.

I find that sometimes, even with people whom you know incredibly well, your mind can just choose to be an irrational jerk and have you questioning their intent and mindset over certain things when you would otherwise know better. I like to think myself as a mostly rational and level-headed person when it comes to disputes. Even if I am a third party and strongly disagree with someone, I usually defend and/or explain the point they are trying to make if I see where they are coming from. Similarly, I try to find out what exactly the issues are when problems arise involving me. I apologise for my own mistakes and for causing upset but I tend to expect the other person to admit to their own faults too, though sometimes that just doesn't happen and I let it slide if it's not too important because I don't care for dragging out little spats over some misplaced sense of pride. I can't really think of what I do to make myself feel better, but usually I do after the issue has been resolved. If it's not a random person, then most people are subdued by the simple fact I am willing to apologise for the upset caused and show an interest in simply going back to normal, regardless of who is in the right.

We never learn anything about that Adventurer's past. So personally, I don't think that makes them a good example for a roleplay character. Often at least, roleplayers like to ground their characters in history and lore, the depth and richness of which depends on how important it is to the character as well as the player. Most definitely though, completely making things up does streamline the process of character creation. I think that's why it holds an intrinsic appeal to some people. It's just a plot device to justify why you need everything explained to you for the sake of being expositional about the story and lore, that's all. No-one should really read into the actual situation of the PC itself. Having said that, I think Blue's point was simply that there are always exceptions to the rule.

Okay, since yet another person has mentioned this, I hope you don't mind if I ask something of mild relation for a moment, Erik; on it's own, I have my doubts that it's topic worthy really. I love emotes. I want as many as possible, including all of the missing expressions you see in cutscenes but cannot activate manually. Buuut.... my fear is that they'll never actually add "many" more. Maybe just one or two the odd time that are relevant to some quest(like Hildebrand) and that's it. The emote menu is already fairly long as is and I have my doubts that they'll add an "Extras" tab where people who don't mind having a super long list can access tons more. This especially applies to /cpose. You could add so much more there, including sharing some of the other race's versions but then that would make the /cpose cycle(manual use) long and tedious for many I imagine.... unless they allowed you to select your favourite five from a list or so, but again... that's just very wishful thinking on my end.

That always gets me about suggestions like this now that you mention it. I dislike when people use the term roleplay and don't really provide many reasons why non-roleplayers might like it. There's a lot of ignorance and closed-mindedness in every community, ffxiv included, so I can't help but think of all the people whom would stop reading a topic regarding something they might actually like to support, all because: "Ugh, roleplayers..." Generally speaking, I don't feel great about ideas centred around roleplayers, as much as I may love the concept itself. We're still the minority so we need to find reasons for other people to feel enthused about it as well.

On that note, it makes me think of something that I sort of what to make a topic about but I really don't think it's topic-worthy, nor is it relevant to this topic either. Ufff.. In any case, that classless state idea sounds pretty nice. Not 'exactly' what I'd like(removal of class restrictions full-stop), of course, but certainly better than nothing.

While I will always embrace new gear and emotes, I can't say that this idea has interested me at all, sadly. Least of all the vampire part. Plus, things like this worry me because it takes up more menu space and eventually it'll surely reach the point where they're reluctant to add more more menus/submenus for the sake of preventing clutter? And then I'll only be sad that any future and great ideas are harder to push through to the devs because more random ones got attention first. That's just me though.

Final Fantasy XIV Heavensward Opening Movie [SPOILERS FOR 2.55]
K'nahli replied to allgivenover's topic in FFXIV News
They said Heavenswards starts from a couple of days to a couple of weeks following 2.55's events. Damn, Raubahn got real grey real fast. I did wonder the same however, though perhaps it's the lighting exaggerating it since it otherwise looks like a CGI version of what we saw in-game. Yeah, it looks pretty normal now that I freeze it. But seriously, those graphics. -

Though she were avoiding eye-contact with the boy, his surprise was quickly noted. Not that such a thing was unusual... no, far from it. Rather, it were merely the fact that oddly, he didn't seem to show the same signs of reluctance nor disdain that she herself had. Granted, the girl had her own reasons for feeling such a way about the news of their intended cooperation, but even if K'rahto's true feelings toward her were nothing short of a mystery, it was an indisputable certainty in her mind that, at the very least, his expression would have revealed the venom of even words witheld. Though surprised in her own way from the boy's mere reaction - or rather, lack of - K'nahli didn't hesitate long before offering her response. "...I don't know. K'luha is not fit for travel and I would imagine that they wish to ensure there are more options for situations such as this". The girl was doing her best to sound as natural as possible in her delivery of each sentence, as though K'rahto was just any other tribesmember - anyone who hadn't constantly spoken down to her in the way that he always had. "Frustrating" wasn't a word that could do enough justice to just how aggravating it was that she needed to try so hard for such a stupidly, menial task. All because of this one, stupid tia. Still avoiding eye contact, the girl watched the boy only for a second or two longer before deeming it safe to make her departure, satisfied that at least 'that' task was done with - even if it were only but a pitiful taste of what was yet to come. "Prepare whatever you need and be ready to leave in a bell or two" she added in closing while offering K'rahto a half-hearted wave in farewell before she turning her back on him and hastily retreating toward the camp once again with an eager trot.

You don't need to revisit Ul'dah to have information fed to you about what is currently taking place. I'll be very surprised if it's 100% about Ishgard and we don't hear so much as a peep from the other nations' leaders nor a bunch of comments along the lines of: "The citizens are growing increasingly restless with all of the rumours flying around. A great majority are already of a stout opinion that there is more going on than a mere 'illness' ".

How does your RL reflect into your character?
K'nahli replied to Branson Thorne's topic in RP Discussion
K'nahli - K'nahli is like me in that she's not overly social. While not shy, she prefers not spend her time around too many people and limits unnecessary interaction with others to an extent. She likes boys while I like girls, but we can both agree that we each like K'rahto. It could also be said that she very heavily relies on the people she shares the strongest relationships with, not unlike myself. Ah, also we share the really, horrible trait of overanalyzing and obsessing over certain things. Andre - Andre was raised with good mannerisms and as a result does his best to get along with and be friendly to people. I think I share that in part since, even if I have no interest in talking with or engaging with a stranger at the time, I will anyways - instead of letting them down or making them feel bad(however the circumstances seem to be). Also I can be a bit of a peacekeeper when it comes to conflicts, particularly ones not directly involving myself. Also, I suppose you could say that we have a similar interest in girls as far as aesthetics go. Alex - Alex is always rather stoic and inexpressive and I don't think that there's much that I share with him. I will say that he would be very level-headed even during conflict or when challenged and that tends to be how I react to situations too, with only a few specific type of situations garnering a more emotional response from both of us. I imagine that were he to find something to put it in, then Alex would also be quite loyal to whatever relationship(platonically speaking) it was that he deemed worthy. I suppose I could say the same for myself(?) Lulani - Lulani is more or less an outlet for my own stupidity, so alongside us both being stupid, I'd say that I also share some of his shyness. Aside from that, I could probably say that we can both, at times, fail hard at trying to make a situation better and instead only make it worse when it comes to personal disputes. Also fixation. K'tyanu - I don't know about this character. He's confident and a bit arrogant while I am neither of those things. All of my characters love or at least like animals. I think that's the one trait that will carry into every single one of my characters. -
'Pologies for any inconvenience (And also buttluck.)
K'nahli replied to ChewableMorphine's topic in FFXIV Discussion
Regardless of your own personal opinions and whether or not his intentions were pure or not, be it with the situation in-game or the creation of this topic itself, he has apologised and there's honestly nothing much else that can come from that. Whether you strongly disagree with someone's actions or not, you should always be mindful of your choice of words. It's very easy for replies to come off sharply and that's never going to help anyone and instead only potentially lead to more tension and feelings of animosity. Try to be more careful next time, Flynnt, as I'm sure you are by now well aware. -
What physique does your character prefer? WAIT! In their significant other!
K'nahli replied to g0ne's topic in Fun Prompts
K'nahli would like a boy that's taller and stronger than her but only slightly so - just enough that she could feel safe and secure in his arms. Of course, she doesn't realise this herself. Even had she been posed with the question of being able to chose the perfect nunh for herself further down the line, she wouldn't openly welcome the idea very well. She has difficulty viewing the relationship as anything other than a singular line of duty later on in life for the sake of doing her part to support the next generation - though even then she has her doubts that she will even commit to the idea. Andre would prefer a girl at least a little shorter than him, most likely a midlander that's a little dainty and feminine, though I doubt he'd actually know the answer to this without having been asked and after taking some time to put thought into it. Alex hasn't really found himself expressing much romantic interest in anyone but he'd be leaning more toward something similar to Andre's preference. A midlander, shorter and not too athletic. Lulani can only like a girl with a sort of cyan blue colour to their hair; honey-coloured eyes; a soft, rosy-pink blush across her cheeks; baby-pink lips; short but pointy years; dark lashes and pudgy all over. While capable of finding midlanders attractive perhaps, K'taynu Tia favours miqo'te exclusively and would only consider anyone from within his tribe. Ideally, she would be shorter while being athletic and strong in build, having proved herself a highly competent and tactful huntress, but still with notably, feminine attributes. nice eyes would certainly be a massive plus. -
Why do people RP around the MSQ? [Post 2.55 Spoilers]
K'nahli replied to Magellan's topic in RP Discussion
Timeline is probably what affects me most. My main even has a half-sister, a former member of her tribe whom was once 1-2 years younger than her and is now two years older from what I've heard. -
I don't know anything about the lore but I highly, highly doubt I will be one - just a greatsword wielder. My idea for my Au Ra was developed before I even thought about what class he'd be, but a greatsword definitely fits that bill in the end. Having said that, under certain circumstances he could certainly turn into an uncontrollable machine(i.e if his master is in serious danger), but other than that he will usually be very stoic and level-headed about everything, even in battle. Edit: Ah, yeah... magic. Have never been a fan of non-mages doing that but I guess I might consider having a character use it for once. We'll see.

For some reason, despite her love for archery, I imagine K'nahli working as a quiet shop assistant with a little apron-thing(for whatever reason) and K'rahto is just this random boy who sometimes comes by and pesters her. That, or perhaps working with horses. Andre would have a large inheritance and be expected to take over his father's work as the head of a bank chain, though he'd be far more inclined to get involved in more outdoor-sy work, likely to do with nature. Alex would believe that his only commendable talent lies with his fighting prowess, so perhaps he'd join the military. Lulani would do pretty much anything so long as he got to spend time with Nonopi I think. K'taynu.... I don't know, for some reason an athlete came to mind. I could see him as a basketball player I guess?? *laughs* ;;;;;

On the incredibly rare chance that a tour of Ul'dah is happening at the time Clover and I are RP'ing in-game there, then we'll surely take up the chance.
