Tiergan's Thread of Shameless Self-Promotion [No Commissions. Apologies.]
Edda replied to Tiergan's topic in Artisan House
Damn. Awesome. How about a booty call, Franz? -
Franz and Edda... to the common man, this may seem like the budding start of something sweet. Sweet, indeed. But let's take a closer look at what's going on here... ...Yes, just so. Much better.

Exactly. I never expected to accumulate as much wealth as I have, but God knows if I'm going to keep it, I'll simply have to be the biggest cheapass on the server.
-
Alright Otto, you get the slaves and cigars and I'll supply the hundred dollar bills. You're pretty much the only ICly obviously and obscenely rich person I have roleplayed with, but I am always on the hunt for more spoiled rich kids and heirs. OOC though... well, the millions I do have just kind of... accumulated. I don't do anything to make money, but I also won't spend more than 400 gil on a teleport, so there's that.

Sure, if you want to lose.

Caaaaaan't wait. I got so hype for these new seasonal outfits that I will probably never wear but then I noticed the saddest looking pumpkin in Eorzea. Hopefully we get the trailer for the patch soon. And then hopefully xpac news at fan fest... R-right?

Most likely commonly skipped mobs in certain instances like Amdapor Keep and Hullbreaker Isle. You know at the beginning the one group of two mantises and a bee everyone tries to skip after the first group? I wouldn't be surprised, but if not - hey, cool.

Dammit, you beat me to it. Please tell me again how the money I am paying to play the game isn't real? It's not. But I'd love your credit card information just to double check. I see. Well, that's nice and all, but I'm going to have to decline. Maybe you can ask me about it in game or something. Ahhh I get it. Sure, I'll do that. I'll ask about that parser you run too.

Mind slapping my name down on that list? I'd like to get in there before it gets longer than the credits for The Matrix Reloaded. I can e-mail you the details and such once I get get closer to the peak... someday. Thanks! -
Levi Ex is fun (once people are comfy at dodging)! I've heard the Mog Ex fight isn't too bad, but just requires a well-coordinated group. (Because kill the moogles is bad). It's actually fairly easy, there's just a lot going on at once. Once your dps get comfortable with when and where to focus their damage it becomes a lot easier. After you get that down, you just have to make sure at least one or two people that aren't healers are closest to that asshole paladin moogle at all times. Literally Satan, that thing.

My observations/thoughts about Grand Company RP (1500+ words warning)
Edda replied to Seriphyn's topic in RP Discussion
And this is why I keep Edda out of all this Grand Company hullabaloo, not like any organization with a grain of self-respect would allow such a useless person to join their ranks. Not only would I feel obligated to make her wear the uniform, but I feel like she'd just automatically be stuck in some nondescript "No Fun Allowed" club. By herself. I can't speak for everyone though, but I like to imagine people don't let themselves be confined by it because it simply feels too restricting in how far you can go in the world, and for how long. Ul'dah is literally "Big Dick Swingin' The City" The Movie: The Game so I doubt those players would have as much issue, but Twin Adders might not be so lucky (if they want to follow lore as strictly as possible, anyway). Of course, if you have enough organization and enough people I think it could be really cool. Like the Sultansworn (though not GC related) seems to be a popular angle, and from what little I've seen of it it works out really well for them. I for one would love to see some Yellowjackets running around Limsa, but I'm afraid the color yellow doesn't inspire the same level of devotion in RPers as does blue, silver and gold. Now, those are the reasons I don't commit to any type of GC RP. However, should YoshiP deign to release those outfits the OIC Administrators wear as hunt rewards, I'M THERE. I would gladly spend hours doing the most mindless, soul-draining activity ever conceived in an MMO for the chance to wear those sinfully sexy outfits. Seriously, have you looked at those things? -
inb4 these invisible accessories cost more than dying your AF i know ur game, square. tryna play me

I believe it's fairly obvious the localization crew took cues from Alexander Smith's stupendous work on FFXIIs localization, which in my very humble opinion, is the best of all jRPGs. Plus, Eorzea is very Ivalice-esque, so it fits. And you know I already disagree with you about American accents in fantasy settings. It would work for FFVI and FFIX, yes, but FFVII and FFX? Good Lord that would be something else entirely. I'm not sure I could handle The Teedus HAHAHAing it up in Great British. But I digress. You really should play FFXII. Though Dalmascans have American accents, so... Oh well!

It's okay Kage, you're not alone in this! As someone who took a break from the game, and has recently tried (and failed) to get back into endgame content, I can say it's pretty goddamn hopeless right now if you don't know the right people. With PF you're basically stuck with your mixed mystery bag of horrible-to-okay people, or people who apparently develop anal polyps every time they see the bonus myth message. And of course joining most statics is another story altogether... If you haven't gotten to T9, bench pressed Titan with Ramuh's beard, and managed to steal a lock of YoshiP's hair - forget it (with few exceptions). But there's a catch! Knowing people. On top of taking a long break, I've been out of an FC since the first week of 2.1. Let's not mince words - I'm fucked. You! Kage, however, are not. You have experience with the content. You know people who have experience with the content, some more, some less. The ass-end of the patch is approaching, plenty of people are going on vacay until 2.4 so there will be spots to fill. Talk to your pals. Talk to the friends of your pals. To a lot of these people, attitude matters more than anything. I see a lot of miserable folks that have Turn 9 on farm, but who cares? They're miserable. You said it yourself - you want to raid. Some people will take you over some whiny Turn 9 overlord simply because you have the right attitude. Don't be afraid to pimp yourself out to EVERYONE, especially those you know. Raiding with people you know will always beat out doing it with strangers. Be positive! Try stuff out! Put your creds up on PF (be sure to have a lock of YoshiP's hair ready if necessary), ask your LS's if there are any openings, try semi-organized pug groups while you wait. Don't get anxious, stay calm and be patient! Good things come to those who wait! :moogle:

Yeah, the graphical settings are way low, it's pretty obvious. Hopefully a carpet or something will fix that in the end... No, that's definitely a medium sized one from what we've seen of the interior of a large house in the Live Letters. From what I've seen on Balmung there are no houses up yet, but who knows right now. I'm pretty sure this house is on Gilgamesh though, I don't really know. It was linked to me by someone in my FC.

Here's the interior of a medium sized house if no one's seen it yet. Server is Gilgamesh I believe. http://imgur.com/a/yn9NG

It completely boggles my mind as to why Square would hype up and spend money on a feature that only a very small percentage of actual players will be able to experience.
