  1. Oh wow, that's actually a really disgusting expression then I'm not sure I'm gonna end up using it that much anyway <.< But good to know!
  2. Heh, the thing is this thread is not even that bad, I've seen WAY worse. In fact, according to what I've read on various forums, I gotta be one of the wost players you can: I'm a roleplayer, I'm a girl, and I don't enjoy griefing lower level players. Apparently, all of these makes me a horrible player all in all
  3. Wait.. What? Is that an actual expression? If so, I SO have to learn what that means so I can use it <.<
  4. Hahaha, I was JUST about to suggest ERP Radio <.
  5. Oh, I didn't really know about the surplus thing. I agree that it might not be the best move, but it still doesn't change the fact that this post is just one more person whining without adding much constructive criticism. Those types are dangerous to listen to, because they can easily make a decent game sound horrible. And while it does take away some freedom, I agree with Asyria. And I don't think it's in any way gamebreaking, it's just another thing you have to get used to and figure out how to make work best for you.
  6. No, that's an 8 days earlier acces, it has nothing to do with beta. The characters there won't be wiped, and noly people with CE can play. Early beta starts sometime in September, probably around 2 weeks before the CE launch.
  7. Meh, seems to be just another whiny post, there's thousands of them, and this one really doesn't add anything new. I don't see what it has to do with roleplaying a specific class though. I chose not to listen to the nagive voices. Sure, there are things that need fixing, but people tend to be insanely negative, not just around this game, but in general. I'm gonna have my fun, no matter what they say anyway.
  8. I don't think you really put a birthplace, I think it choses your starting city. So I doubt Ishgard will be a choice
  9. Still doesn't mean you can't try to avoid it I believe there is a difference between drama and conflict. Conflict is inevitable, but if you react in a sensible way, much drama can be avoided. Also, I'm totally a hot super model! Anyway, I think this thread is starting to drift off topic, let's bring it back
  10. Edit: Yeah, messed up and chose "Quote" instead of "Edit"...
  11. It took me 36 hours to download, so... Yeah, I'd say so.
  12. Yeah, I agree with Asyria on this one. Don't blame the game because people can't figure out to be prepared
  13. I actually got one from Eorzepedia too <.< But since I already got one from Fileplanet, I guess I have a friend/guildmate who will be very happy with me
  14. I've always thought that this song is so Seraj: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UMTVyxL4Ko&feature=related
  15. Oh, not bad suggestions, vareal. But I just realized who would be perfect for Seraj! Shannyn Sossamon: Even her attitude seem to fit a lot
  16. Aah, yeah ok, that makes more sense then. I'm just thinking that my grandmother for instance is over 80, and she's still out playing golf, working voulentarely at a women's center, etc... I'm sorry if it came off too harsh, it truly wasn't meant that way
  17. Oh, I used to love Azumi! Haven't watched it for a while though. I always have troubles finding actors to play my chars <.< I'll have to do some research.
  18. I don't mind Jecht. And I think we should be careful with chosing one of the most popular villains.
  19. Do you see the funny thing in having those two senteces right after eachother? I don't know exactly what century you're from, but now, you're really not that old when you're 50. And about the verification of age: I really think we were just joking around. At least I was. I would never demand anyone to prove to me that they're +18. I trust people, and if it turns out they lied, and their parents are upset or something, well, that can't exactly be my problem. I doubt any guild here would really start demanding stuff like that
  20. Oh, I'll drink, just not beer <.< I can't say I know any of the pubs in London, but there was a few very nice ones in Oxford ^^
  21. Damn, and here I was hoping we could bring back the good old viking days ... Ok, to be honest, I'd prefer not to be forced to drink either <.<
  22. I know <.< This game is so much better looking than any other MMO I've seen that it's insane. I mean, Aion was pretty, but FFXIV is just... Wow... I can spend a lot of time just walking around, looking at the landscape.
  23. Yeah, I agree with you on that, Asyria. Roleplayers are more used to being the minority, so I think we can handle unofficial rp servers ^^
  24. I think one thing that is important for roleplayers to realize is, that there's a difference between playing in an official rp server and an unofficial rp server. In games where there is designated rp servers, you can expect people to rp, or at least expect them to expect you to be, so going "I don't know what this swordskill you talk about is" in /say on an official rp server is ok in my book. On an unofficial rp server however, we can't expect that people are there to rp. We have to realize that we're just a small part of the server, and that you might have to tone down your IC time a bit. I think it's extremely important to be flexible and not just stand on your right to rp in every situation. As Tyriont wrote, there will be cases where roleplaying can slow you down, or get in the way of prgress, and while it can be fine in a guildrun where you might focus on a story, if you group with non-roleplayers, it's just as unpolite to force the roleplay on them, as it is to disrupt roleplay events. I'm not saying anyone here does that, it's just to discuss some general ideas of behaviour in the community, that might help people get along better ^^
