Nebula already spent IC time as a student. As a Witch in Training she was sent out to learn various forms of magic, and joined the FC USH IC for that. She has since gained her fairy and progressed to practicing Witch. Her next quest is to seek out an ancient witch to teach her high order witchcraft, and so is venturing to Ishgard and beyond in search of the lost library. Woah, you don't have to kill a character just because no one signs up for it, you know! Just RP her as an NPC. Most of RPers accept that, as far as I have seen. I...Have a bit of a dark side for my characters hehe. Not suggesting that you kill her off, just maybe a grandparent, or her dreams or .. many things

Welcome A good reference on RPing is [The Role-Play Handbook] a great resource. There are some RPers here sorting out RP on Jenova as you have seen. I don't know how active they have managed to make it so far. Balmung is quite active but you probably noticed a challenge to create a character there.

I have in the past been in a group that imposed realistic travel times. While this added to the feeling of a big world, I found it got in the way of doing RP. It also meant that you were OOC when not in your characters agreed location. The compromise I came up with is that forms of quick travel are available, but requires you to actually do something to use it. So you have to get to an Aetherite to teleport, and you will often see me running up to one, so much so I no longer think about it. Then there is ship travel, and chocobos and wagons. The other thing you can do is ignore time in between RPs, so my character saw you yesterday, and now I meet you again on the other side of Eorzia. That could have been a week for me, and if you use the in game clock.. more. So time when you are IC is slowed, and then sped up in between. I am certainly not a fan of IC TPing about like a demented imp. I find the ability to remove a character from a situation by just TPing out breaks a lot of plots. And after all we RP for fun and engagement, not avoidance?

I always try to keep in mind to play the character and not the feature, be they under or overpowered. So you can play what you want but make it an interesting personality. Always falling over dizzy is just as annoying as never loosing. My pet hates are the blind, deaf or dumb character that essentially are defined by their disability. Yet some of the best RP I have had was with a blind char that was a rich interactive sort. I suppose you should aim to add to the RP and not try to drag it down to overcoming the problems you are imposing on your char and thereby on others.

Like others say, there are a few things it could be. What u would suggest is going about it systematically. Can you reproduce the two effects? Something like... A clean boot and run the benchmark. A clean boot wait 30min while doi g nothing and run the benchmark A clean boot run some game for 30min then run the benchmark Could be heat, other prograns, power profile, scheduled tasks, etc..

This works only insofar as actions occur within a vacuum, affecting only the two parties involved. As soon as the actions are implied to have a larger impact on the setting, it becomes more difficult to justify. It's also really bog-standard criticisms of early empiricism mixed with a bit of solipsism, and feels a bit Philosophy 101. How do we really know our actions have an impact, you know? Man? Nod..nod. Yep, that's muchly what I said. It seems to me that if you want consensus not starting with realism vs godmodding would seem sensible. You need to have some common ground that all will accept and that would bound the validity of interactions. The closer the RP styles the larger this common ground can be, and will hold until someone does something the other(s) can't accept.

As each player is bringing different versions of un-reality with them, they can just as easily take away different views on the outcomes. This works when the outcomes are just different interpretations of the same thing. One sees their opponent punched to the moon, the other just sees them self knocked down. If they disagree on the essence of the outcome then that is simply a disagreement. If you want 3rd parties to interpret things.. then they get to decide on their own version of un-reality. The only truth here is that there are as many truths as there are people involved.
