Sumi walked out of the dark den of lecherous eyes and into the bright light of the Dawn Farther. The fresh breeze swept away the stench of the bar and she felt the spirits of the land closer. Standing taller she drew strength from the land and waited for 'team mishap' to assemble. "Our trail is there", she pointed at a figure hurrying away in the distance. "We go rid land of those who deal in dream weeds. We take their gil, burn their crop and gift their blood to the land." She peers into the distance as the figure rounds some rocks, "Come", and she sets off at a jog.

Well I would first go back to those events and work out what his experience was make them tough, pull out the regrets and the losses, make them anything but heroic. Then you can talk about them as gritty and real, get across that you are an ordinary person pushed into extraordinary circumstances. You can always down shift the experiences too. Your perma-death play is kind of irrellavent IC, so maybe make that near death misses? Also, heroes & villains are in the eye of the beholder not the hero them self. So don't even think hero, think bloody lucky messed up person and let other players decide for them self. So in short, play a person and let others decide. Play it convincingly and they will even buy your claims. And take time, to layer it. I hope that helped.

She looked around noting the attention they were attracting, and concluding the idea of discussing the viper extermination while likely in one of their nests had a fatal flaw. "Outside, we meet outside when you ready. Then I tell you." Turning to Khorchi she asked, "Are you ready, I suggest we wait outside? "

I am certainly interested in meeting other AuRa that hold onto some of that tribal view. Sumi is of the Kha tribe. I'm on EU time and will keep an eye out. Like you I tend to go for enabling RP rather than limelight.

Sumi would giggle but is restrained, just the edge of her mouth turns up in a smile. "Ah, now I know you are the one. Don't worry about the details they will come find us, all we must do is follow the trail. We aim to stop some people who do bad, and take from them what they have taken from others." She holds her chin thinking, "That is if you are not stranger to violence?"

Sumi blinks as the leather hits the wood and the masked man consults his tome of wording. She also eek-giggles as Khorchi clings to her by a tickle spot, though she does spare her hand a pat of reassurance. "I see you are wise man, and gil not anything for you. Yes there will be gil, but also experience to right some wrong, make new friends and if trade is better that is also acceptable. But yes you will get gil from this job." Sumi steps aside pulling Khorchi out, "And this Khorchi, great warrior." She then bows low, "I am Sumi of the Kha."

I play on JP servers because they don't have Oceania servers, im just scared i might experience major lag if i play on NA servers or European ones Give it a go, I play from UK to US (no EU servers yet). I do use WTFast for raids though. RP wise and casual it is fine without. Someone may know if there is RP on your zones servers.

Sumi nodded, "Hai", and stood strengthening the sashes on her Tribal garb. Then with some ease and confidence she walked over to the masked man wondering what she would say. In her mind she ran through several things she could say, from ... That's my spot.. Could you help an old woman ... Is that a poisons spider just crawled up your leg .. I find your lack of face disturbing. In the end she went with standing nest to him and asking, "Hello, are you the one who wanted the job?"

From RPers I have yet to see anyone so out of the Lore I can't deal with. What is more differentiating is style, as there are all sorts here. Even non RPers mostly dress well. Bikini tanks still hurt my eyes and logic. But that's DF Something for all I think.

"Him?" Sumi asked considering the masked one. "Are you sure? Is that what warrior instinct say?" She looked again and tapped the table as if ticking off many objections in her head. Then she turns and smiles at Khorchi. "Good choice, even better if his mask scares you." "Do you want get him over here or me do it?"

I mark as tank when it seems needed. My first pull will generally let me know what I am dealing with. For me the mark just says where I am putting most of my hate. That helps DPS unload more damage on that mob I do watch the health of mobs also as this let's you know what might get pulled off you. Also I rotate my hits round the mobs and check the hate levels, healers can creep up the hate list on all mobs. Other than that I will cover mistakes of DPS, but keep pulling and I will let them tank it.

Sumi thinks a moment then scans the room slowly seeing if there is any other likely peoples who look like they would fight bandits rather than being one, "Maybe we get more help, just in case. "Control, I expect to some degree but it will be like controlling your fall in avalanche. Learn to use it and trust I think will be more like it. Rather than fight it and push against it, which is where a lot of problems would come from I expect." She picks up her tea sniffs it, pulls a face and leaves it be. "This really is backwards land.
