Welcome to the RPC! I hope your shout-out finds someone. I would otherwise suggest a server transfer to Balmung (or Gilgamesh) many have gone this route and not looked back. Alternatively there are a couple of other servers trying to get some RP working and having some success. You could try to create a new character on Blamung but you have to catch it when it is open for new characters.

What's the worse that could happen?

I don't care what you are at the other end so long as you aren't malicious or cause a mess for people. I work on this simple premise.. you are all this guy in my head, so I have no illusions. (though this is an anti-illusion) I am here to RP and play with others, your physical appearance and gender etc.. don't matter to me.

Yes though mine tend to not be solo action based so much. I have two macros set one for TPing in and another for getting through a crowed. They are a bit repetitive but I have been scoring RP with these. The other thing I do is little RP exchange with NPCs, just now and then. Lastly I will emote noticing someone with a smile for example. After that I am prone to just walk up and RP at someone and see how it goes. Oh and I will emote and RP at non RP folks. Like the person on a chocobo that runs through me.

Most people have covered things, I would just add... Get a class to 60, you get a boosted XP bonus. Also mix and match the methods so you don't get board. Try find things that double up, the Ishgard hunts give XP and tokens for gear upgrades. Do run dungeons as fate grind tends to produce geared characters where the player does not know how to do their role effectely Have fun and remember RP > everyting

I have adopted the "" for speach in any ic channel. Also a *to denote an action. I use emote to combine actions then add speach to the same line with "" and sometimes I add more actions after it. I also voice npcs using say and so have to treat this the same.eg.. [Gard1] the gard notes your approach and taking up his spear from the wall it was resting on steps into your path, "Here now, where you thinking the likes of you is going", and he turns to his fellow gards with a proud smile as if to comment on the cheek of these travelers.

Sumi walked through the camps outside of Ul'dah, headed towards the nearby Coffin & Coffer tavern. Many had suggested that was where the dream weed was coming from and so that was where she headed. She walked as one who is used to travel, her pace quite brisk and her garb designed not to impede her. Her clothing was simple yet decorated with patterns and tassels, clearly tribal but a style not common in Eorzea. Her hair,a mane of deep blue and lilac, flirted with the wind and framed her face along with her dark horns. The clothing exposed her dark skin to the elements, and dark scales could be seen wrapping round her protectively. As she went through the tents lilac eyes of curiosity and a feral glint searched ahead of her. A stranger in a strange land, but with troubles she felt someone should do something about.

I would suggest you check out the [RP Linkskell & Free Company Lists for Balmung] for things that suit you. A Linkshell is like an in game chat channel and you can have 8, and a Free Company is like a Guild. That's kind of how I play fortune telling with Nebbs, I try to provide a helpoing ahand along the RP highway. Random RP with the intent at stuff and things.. shenanigans

Weyyylll I am about to switch my main to a new Au Ra charater. Her arrival story leaves her in the camps outside of Ul'dar. I am going for intelegent and educated, yet still steeped in the tribal aspects of life. She may not have an answer but she would be sypathetic to helping. In a nutshell.. Tumet tribe, she failed the tied-to-tree test and was taken into the Kha tribe to serve a mystic. Now finds herself alone in a strange land on the bad end of luck. [PS - happy to do forum, gdocs or other channels of RP]

To borow from social media. 1:10:100 For every person who initiated RP, there are 10 who would respond, and 100 who would just watch. So, be a 1 when you can. I like to help others RP, but for me the best is when someone responds and adds their own ideas into the mix. Otherwise is can be a slog. So at least be a 10.

I think i leave it open to interpretation. And there are three main types I play.. 1. The character is specifically given a hideous or jarring appearance. Think playing undersea in WoW. The flip is that through RP can see the real you through the hideous visage. 2. The plain character. Nebula will describe herself as a "plain dumpling of a girl from the shroud", and leave any interpretation open to those RPing. Add in the suitable emotes for a plain girl and you have great times breaking out of the mould. 3. Playing the beauty. In this case I play the character flaunting it, they know they are good looking and have a personality to match. Though with me there is probably much more beneath the surface. As is the life of my Twi'lek smuggler in SWTOR who replaces feelings with drink and violence. I suppose that the answer is in your role play, how you portray the character and in the perception of those you RP with. I think that MMO RP is far richer than just the toon, and we should give ourselves a lot more credit for the depth and layering of our characters.
