I agree with this OP. On my good days I am fearless, I am up for anything and nothing gets me down. But the way of things is one small pin prick of disappointment can bring all your fears back. At that point it helps to stop the panic and just remind yourself that the prick is not that big and "choose" how you want to respond if at all. On a bad day, I'll be under my covers waiting for the day to go away. A life of negative feedback, as I struggled with words, conditioned me to avoid and dislike any feedback. I am sure many are in a similar position. That is why failing with friends is the best way. I love PvE but really I love to wipe with friends as we all learn. The loot and progress is secondary to that for me. Another trap is the comfort of solo dailies and crafting and gathering. I know I want to RP, I know I love RP, and yet I often find myself doing just one more craft, or hunt, or leve. We know that being with those who feed you and build you up is the way forwards, but the memories of rejection and failure haunt us. We see the negatives and ignore the positives. So the next time you fail, just put the negatives to one side and consider the positives. They are there.

Even though I make myself do it and get along okay, I hate the anxiety. I have a friend who heals while I tank and that does well, also I get friends from LSs to come, that also helps. But the solo roulette, I have to almost turn off and just do it. I tend to tank mostly as at least I have some control.

Are you trying to solo? If so join a fate group and it does okay, it is really crowded atm, but we are getting the XP.

Hunts, and people who can't wait more than two minutes to pull. It's not as if there is another hunt to go straight to. With the introduction of instances it can take some time to get there a the hunts are in a specific instance.

Welcome, you may have already spotted the RP is spread on a few servers and (vested interest) Balmung is a nice place. So you may want to consider an alt or something looking for a fix? Or you may be able to start some RP on the forum, though many taper off. Either way, or even getting RP on your server.. welcome to the RPC

Welcome, and I would not worry about the wall of text. Most of the interaction tends to be one or two sentences, though in 1:1 RP you can increase that giving each other time to write and digest and reply. The wall of text comes more from larger events or crowded areas were the chatter scrolls faster than you can read I started on D&D and tabletop, also LARP where speaking was the way of communicating. But you soon pick up the typing thing, or some also use a voice chat software but mainly these are OOC or to coordinate activities such as PVE. It really concerning to hear examples of this, the odd individual can have a bad day but when a group of otherwise respected RPers do this we all loose. Not to mention the poor RPers subjected to this kind of harassment. There is no place for this kind of behaviour in our community. - Signed!

That we have 5 pages of peeves? By that I mean that when people see what is not there in the people they RP with, they miss what is there. So I choose peoples' pet peeves, my own included. The pint glass is not half empty or full, it is just closer to your next pint.

For the forum, I suppose that it is here, and the admin folks, especially Alothia who holds the line weathers the storm of the s#it we throw and really really cares about the community. For Balmung, I would have to say the diversity and capacity to accommodate the variety and mess and fallouts that come with RP and still keep people here. For every person that will do you down there are others that will lift you up again. Cliques and tribes are a part of life but we appear to be big enough for all to have room.

Nothing specific, or rather everything.. but it only becomes an issue if the RP is not really engaging. Sooooo... Make the RP interesting and engaging and I will put up and go along with most things. [edit] And keep IC and OOC separate.. in fact I would happily never go OOC.
