I suppose there are two things for me here.. Fantasia and Glamour exist - I can accept this, and have even played someone cured to be a beast (Miqo'te) with the his story progressing to choose the curse or to return to his former form. A bit beauty & the beast Someone I already knew was not in their normal form has now regained it, in this case it is just a continuation of the RP and I would expect them to reflext that in the RP Someone suddenly changes and claims to be the old person, this has happened and they are treated with suspicion and have to prove it to me.. yay RP Being hugged by strange Au Ra expect me to react IC with some level of wtf! and it to add to my IC suspicion that lizards are taking over.. and this is not a good thing. I even question the sudden appearance of these vermin in the Fc house

As we are full, I have started to remove inactive characters. It is not easy to check this absolutely but I do go to some lengths before removing anyone: I check the LS activity, the Activity check sheet, the Characters Loadstone profile and ask in the LS if anyone has seen them. Anyone removed for inactivity is welcome to rejoin, and I apologise if any mistakes are made.

I'm in UK and Ping wise.. Straight internet 120ms+ with variance Using WTFast ~100ms with stability There are good days and bad days, but I rarely see over 125ms. RP wise.. come to Balmung, it is really the best answer.

At the moment RP has taken a bit of a back seat but is starting up again, I even saw people RPing in sizeable groups in the new zones.

*hugs* this.. um this, and yeah this again lol. Sadly Drama is there, it even spills over in to attacks and harassment. All you can control is yourself, how you act and how you choose to let it affect you. It is unlikely you will change the cause of the drama by responding and judging them, this just feeds it more... then you have drama about drama. Strive to be positive, there is no reward for being negative and don't waste your limited energy on it. And forgive people for yourself, not for them... this will always be a work in progress.

In general folks can take their chances that I will spot them and then put up with me chasing them if not marked as active. Or folks can ideally take some of the responsibility and make certain, it is just typing your name and clicking. I still have to process the responses, it is not a free ride for me. In general checking activity is a pain as there are few features to help, I already check several days of LS activity logs and scan who is on. But from experience of setting up and running Open RP it will never catch everyone. You can also see who has already been flagged as active at the activity sheet [Activity Sheet]

I don't think that it can be boiled down to an answer, it is a feature that we have to with with. "If it is raining, don't complain about the rain, get an umbrella" People = drama, that is just the basics. RP does not avoid this or create it, it simply give yet another context to have it. Drama will happen, what really matters is what you do about it. If you give it any air time it will only grow (bad), the only answer is to push/focus on harmony and avoid those who can not put aside their differences or attitude. Create and grow the reasons to be together and many will accept that and let the drama diminish. Now on the issue of IC, the player control the actions of the character. So there will always be some responsibility for how that is perceived, even if people let it bleed into OOC. You chose to play a character that pushes things, there are consequences. On the flip of this I see people playing abrasive/challenging types and expecting either an easy ride, or not actually getting IC push back and ostracised. However, some of my best RP friendships have been over playing IC characters that dislike and hate each other. Absolutely we should understand that behind the character is a RL person, and all that comes with that. *hugs* [edit] I have been involved in and probably caused drama. If any think they are drama free, they are probably in denial.

Oh I'm so sorry that is not only devastating but you must feel awful about the "if only". I don't see how it could just die like that but that's not the point *hugs*

There is a great EU presence, some formed EU based LS/FC and others merge with NA base ones and simply spread the times. And not just UK people there is a lot of folks where English is not their first language. Check out the [European Directory]

Both in my experience and from talking with others I think this is a tolerant RP culture we have here. That does not mean all is well, as where there are people there are some tensions. However, acceptance is generally practiced by the majority. For play and RP I would think people who like to play and get along like you do irrespective of their sexuality is what I would recommend. After all, we can leave a lot of our RL masks behind when we are here. That said I can fully accept and understand why people want to group together with others that "get them" is some way. There are many many tribes. So long as people are open and interact with some respect and trust the community generally gets along. All in all, this is a great community.

Some words.. Diverse Established Events Themed LS Spread-out Hot-spots Open RP is very much alive and thriving. There are cliques and groups (that's humanity) but tbh it is big enough to find a huge bunch that fit in with your style.

A few little things, as you don't need a beast to run this game. Decent GFX, CPU, HD and you should be set. After that it is $ into making it last to the next crippling games . As for me I tend to hit the price point of bang/buck and refresh/upgrade piece by piece. I run a GTX 960 and that handles the game on max, I could go higher but that would also mean a new MB. They are cheap and get basic OC versions. I run 8GB RAM, that is enough. Rather than a SSD I use a Momentus XT Hybrid. They are dirt cheep and you really do notice a difference over bare HDs, sort of a half way house to an SSD but a fraction of the cost. And yes get an i5, based on the price point. My CPU is just a 3.4GHz i5-3570k I pull 60fps in the game (I limit it to 60 max), it dips to 50 on huge populated areas etc.. I run it on max settings. I run three monitors also and have other things running at the same time TV, Browser, Skype etc.. I also use the Nvidia Shadowplay that captures game video with no impact.

I think most FCs will expect you to make some effort to engage, and many do run events in part for that reason. Also, do try the LSs as they will have people calling out for RP and stuff, and this can be a good way to get pulled into an FC. At least if you RP with someone around their FC house. For an FC to catch you, you have to throw yourself. Good luck.
