  1. Welcome back.. err you know how it goes.. something something Linkshells
  2. What WHM think they do What their parents think they do What the Party hopes they do http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140201121713/swordartonline/images/9/9c/Healing_magic.gif[/img] What they actually do https://33.media.tumblr.com/49e0471517dde2f77094defd7e444ec5/tumblr_mxpy3tlyR91rktvmqo1_500.gif[/img] What actually Happens
  3. This Seeker has found his Sunshine!
  4. There may be three scenarios here 1. Established RP helping New RPer Well first they want to RP, all you need to do is provide open RP arms, take is slow and be gentle. As most established folk have other commitments this tends to be moving people to the next stage in a helpful way. 2. New RPer meeting New RPer This can be like finding your own way, a FC or friends help. 3. Established meets Established Buyer beware
  5. Just imagine the apologies when you miss target that macro lol. Seriously, don't tickle their egos with attention.
  6. I'm quite open to many things but there are some people out there with intentions that are not respectful, some even malicious. I am sure some see other players as toons not real people. Just always put yourself first use the Blacklist and report harassment. Don't get dragged into debates with these people. I don't mean to paint it black as mostly it is a wonderful place. Just watch out and if in doubt back off.
  7. Remember, there is no wrong way.. only alternative ways Definitely not for science.
  8. Hmm.. well ICley If someone put emotions or thoughts out there even though you can't read their mind I think it is perfectly acceptable to translate some of it into. For this I would say she noticed his shifty look and the way he made her skin crawl when he looked at her. They put that emote out there feel free to use it. Also notice how I kept this to how you feel, not how they act. Why else would the other play do that other than to creep you out ooc? OOC you get to choose what your character does, and there are many ways to do that without compromising them. Have a headache, get a call on you pearl, spot someone, take a rain check. Or if they don't get the message them OOC you are not interested because you don't want to get into being attacked by a creep. Lets say they never revealed anything, you go for what you hope is a nice RP and they start the molesting. Stop and OOC get out of there, TP if you want to do it IC. However, they have led you to understand it is one kind of RP and not told you OOC that they will act in a different, possibly upsetting way. Honestly you don't want that kind of RPer. For such surprise RP you need a lot of trust and even then it is a shock and can be upsetting. I have been there and I would not recommend it.
  9. MAGIC IS NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH SOMETIMES YOU JUST NEED TO BURN PEOPLE ALIVE Ot make them think they are burning alive, then walk away.. real evil does not look back.
  10. Bump! I just created one for LS recruitment, this could be a great asset thanks for spotting it! Here is the one I made if you want to see an example Join my LS Simples
  11. If people would like to let us know they want to join you can also now register with this loadstone event EDIT - it seems to have problems I will need to check it out Simple
  12. You hear that.. wild unsupervised part at YTC!
  13. Oh.. this will be good I should ask.. "Is it on?"
  14. Here are a few of Nebula's brainstorm ideas Curses.. lots of curses, and the convoluted way to get out of them True love.. kind of goes with curses, but may need a helping hand Healing visits to villages etc.. , lots of strange ailments Ghosts.. hauntings, bad spirits, good excuse for a seance Something wrong in the fairy kingdom and we have to put it right Potions gone awry and cause unwelcome side effects Chased by an angry mob Rituals, a collective weaving of magics A witch has gone missing, youa re the substitute witch The wrong hat, when you mistakenly get the wrong witches hat and confusion follows
  15. Nebula> "Noooooo!" Flees! "Nooooo!" Oh and dancing naked.. don't forget dancing naked.. Nebula does it alone, when no one can see and laugh at her. She may also ware a robe, just in case.
  16. Character Name: U'anzu Souji Character Type: Charming Rogue, Ronin Character Name: Nebula Stardancer' Character Type: Young Witch, student of magic, friend of fairies and the Sylphs Availability Day(s) of the Week: All Time(s) of the Day: Mid Week GMT Evenings, Weekend GMT all day & night Frequent Locations: I don't go to specific RP locations much, I like to meet people out and about. I am happy to RP anywhere.
  17. That's great! I tend to pull from several sources and mash them up. Then finish it off in RP when I get a feel for the char. I find having some characteristic reference points helps.
  18. YES! I have been playing a witch for ages, I would definitely love to help and participate etc.. Here is Nebula's wiki [Nebula - apple seller] She leans towards the Pratchett school of Witchery and embraces all the fairy tales, though they are often darker than you might think. She also goes in for crystals, fortune telling and other alternatives forms of magic and healing. Oh did I mention frogs?
  19. Good topic I think the essence of this is very simple, as the person looking for RP and the ones offering it just say a bit more about the logistics (times, places) and the style. I will be taking this on board in my own responses. I would suggest keeping it simple, and focusing on the needs of those looking for RP. People will go about things in different ways, what may look helpful for some can be scary for others. Personally I hate forms, lists, lots of text, instructions and prefer organic, trial & error, mutual adjustments, the fun of failure (learning). Show me a staged plan and I will walk the other way, while others will get a sense of relief that such a thing exists.
  20. This is true. I've been in a few "Looking for RP" ls's and they... never looked for rp. Idle ooc chitchat with nothing ever getting done. It was discouraging and I ended up giving up on the idea of finding one I'd go further and say that most RP based LS dry up or don't get going. The "chatter" is what keeps them alive between any RP related talk. I came to the conclusion you need to embrace a wider scope to create a community that sustains. Even then there is an aspect of the 1:10:100 rule, where only a few initiate, others respond but most lurk. Also I think some people LFRP then settle down when they find it, so it takes a special sort to actively want to meet and greet people and facilitate them into the RP. For me this is my default role that I assume and I really enjoy it. On a crowed do you go and RP with the one that seems left out over the popular group? (yes). Those I meet in this way then move on as they find RP contacts, but remain good IC/OOC friends. Probably longer than more closer RPing relationships. Karma I suppose.
  21. Here is the search macro.. /search forename "firstname1" /search forename "firstname2" /search forename "firstname3" /e firstname1 secondname1/firestname2 secondname2/firstname3 secondname3/ It will open the search window and search for the persons with a first name of "firestname1", wait 3 seconds and then proceed to search for the next and then the next etc.. The "/e" echoes the full names so you can see them, as sometimes you get several responses from the search. This was useful when I had many (like 10) people in the list, such as people who wanted to join a LS and I can't remember so many names.. Run it and just watch who flashes up, then you can do a manual search for that one. [edit] I do have a gSheet setup to auto populate this macro from a list of names if anyone wants. Useful if you are dealing with many names that change often.
  22. I have a search macro I use and I add their names to it, I then check every so often. However, the miss rate is higher than the hit rate. Then when you spot someone there is still the chance that neither is available. At least I can send them a tell and a friendly word of we can't get the RP to suit. So even with the best will it can be low. I would also applaud people intent to RP, it shows that there is a willingness to do so and even of only a few make it to the RP it i still welcoming and positive.
  23. I'd be more than happy to help. You can find me on the characters below, and also I just started a linkshell for this kind of help, though we are a few atm. (see my sig below) I'll keep an eye out and come RP with you.
