  1. Gosh.. well I think you hit the nail on the head, by playing an outgoing character you can effectively hide your shyness behind that and engage. With the ant-social character you get a double whammy of the character and your own natural tendency. And this is mainly what I do to overcome my own shyness, see me in RL at a party (if you can find me and if I stayed) and I will be on my own looking interested in something in a corner. I play characters that have facets that make them engage, and more, I use that to try and bring others out of their shell. RPing at someone only goes so far, and you need them to respond. Here is another problem, most RPers I know are shy and introverted to some degree. So while many welcome interaction they seldom start it. The trick is to help them get going and in return you get RP.. win win. So, then, what if you want to play the character with low social interaction. I guess you will have to work harder at it and really find the "hooks" that others will respond to. On a basic level you could go with exaggerated aspects like obnoxious or flirtations, or sarcastic. These are things that get you noticed, but beware you don't get type cast. My advice on this is have a deeper character behind this that you expose as people get closer. On a more subtle level, try and study your potential RP targets, listen to what they are saying and then open up with something that offers their RP something to interact with. Some advice, or knowledge or just curiosity. Make the exchange about something they value and you stand a better chance. Also don't wait for specific RP zones, just make RP conversation out in the world. Expect 90% failure but the 10% wins are golddust. I would also recommend having some general activities in your back pocket, these can be just the reason why you happen to be where you are all the way to a mini RP scene where the other character could help (carry something, watch your back, check out an item, give fashion advice etc..) And don't take failure as failure, it is just one step closer to finding that 1 in 10. In summary, approach RP in a way that is focused providing interaction to others rather than looking for interaction with you. I hope that helps and if not get a short skirt and spam the cheer emote in someone's face.. that gets you some interest of a sort
  2. OMG you can haz all my Internets .. I love those pics, especially the one from above, the lighting is great.
  3. Yes they are tradeable, some even sell them in game for Gil.. platinum for up to 1mil I have seen recently. You may only be able to have one at once but they could pass it along.
  4. Correct! Winner! Oh.. i never thought of any prize.. err.. hit me up for a favor in game (rp, dungeon, craft etc..) Maybe someone post another pair of legs?
  5. Hey Gossamar /wave - you can always hit me up for RP & help etc.. Linkshell wise there are several and it is best to look in the Linkshell list and check the latest posting to see how active they are on here. Also consider timezone and activity varies quite a bit based on that. Also check out the membership on the load-stone [Here] They tend to fall into four categories : General RP connections/chat - some of these are often full and can be very very general, so check out some of the smaller ones for a closer feeling. Themed to a subject, race, RP concept - here it will depend on your character but they can be a great way to find RP as all have the same basic interest FC Aligned - really only any good if you hang out with that FC Non RP LS for RPers - these are quite good for general PvE etc.. link-ups
  6. Anzu scratches his ear catching the old paper notice as it blew by down the alley of Limsa. He looked at it and speaking to no one in particular, "Yea I should be able to go and offer them my special blend of sarcastic competence for this endeavour. All I's ask in return is a few fingers of rum and a song... some booty would not be unkind too."
  7. Take a pic of someone's legs, preferably in a place that might offer some clues. feel free to be in the shot yourself. The rest is guess work.

  9. Kagen Gumbo? (edit: I totally thought I was in another topic oops!)
  10. That's largely what we try to do. We don't really have any hard and fast rules, just guidelines and a very flexible procedure for dealing with problems that may arise. Our guild plot, similarly, is not planned much in advance because I want the ending to reflect what each member involved contributes. There is a general idea of where we want to go but the reactions of the group will ultimately decide how it ends. Like one of our most recent events, two participants in particular completely destroyed (in a good way!) what I had planned and the ending was wildly different as a result. Oh yes! I love player lead plot, in fact it was one of the main approaches I took in running large scale LARP. I must come to your events much more!!
  11. Hmm, I'd just offer a slightly different option? While there is much to be said for organisation and structure in persisting a strong view on things, there are alternatives that push the focus, responsibility and empowerment on individuals and allow some self selection. I'm not saying any one is better than the other just that how you choose to organise will directly affect the culture of your group. Personally I prefer the approach that facilitates and encourages individuals to find their own way rather than dictating the way. Any rules are there as a backstop for when things go awry and not a set of tracks people must follow. Just a thought - There is probably a grid we could draw of Group Identity vs Individual Identity H-H = The "A" Team H-L = Military L-H = Heroes L-L = Association
  12. Her Guardian, the Witch Kraggy Nel along with her Sylph friends had bid her a fond farewell, and Nebula smiled and looked around with joy. She had picked up some things from Nel and the Sylphs, who had insisted she take formal training from the Conjurer's. But now they had sent her off into the world to discover more of Magics, to places like Limsa and Ul'dah. With Mr Lugg, her goblin friend and helper she had the whole world before her. She knew that she had past lives and could hear the songs of those if she listened, sometimes a face or a thing would trigger those songs and she would remember, but for the most part she shut those off. She was a young Witch and the wonder of the world and discovery.. and people, were her's to discover.
  13. And we're Skipping! (also a reference to a whole tin-man, scarecrow, lion witch story I had been running for a year but no one realised )

  16. RP always as a priority, given a choice I will RP. PvE is nice I enjoy it but I try not to obsess too much, I have in the past done full on PvE and PvP but realised there is little return. RP just keeps giving. However, there is one important reason to do anything that is not RP... gear.. clothing.. looks! That is really important, though mostly for RP I am glamoured with lower level gear as I find the OTT reaid gear a but epix!
  17. " Lotus root stuffed with rice and then ruined I mean draped with an orange shimmery gloss." Nope As I failed here is a sorry
