Lost River

Alright! If anyone else is curious; keep on applying, I want River to find more friends. Everyone needs friends, acquaintances, friendenemies and so forth.

Haha, Lost River likes to hug and cuddle in game too; she almost suffocated a Miqo'te with a hug. Poor lad, he'd at least die happy. *laughs*

And here we go, might as well broaden my horizon of meeting new people. Having finally got out of her melancholic, martyrdom style funk. Lost River is hitting the streets, avenues, and what have you of the known world of Eorzea, seeking companionship. All genders and races can apply. Now for the curious details. Lost River is a Black Mage, she was one from 1.0 before (She was retconned from an Elezen to a Roegadyn once I could make females ; yay). So those with sensitive aetheric senses might feel a strong presence of thaumaturgy. Also, those who pry into her history from before the Calamity might find that she used to work for the Syndicate in Ul'dah as a brothel madame. As to what she -really- did would require even deeper digging and IC interaction; or perhaps she truly was one of that too. Also another fun thing to poke at when interacting is guessing what her age is; time jumps and all that jazz + black magic fun times. As far as the friends go, it can bloom into a romantic interest as Lost is currently single; once again, all genders and races can apply and I prefer to actually role-play that out as a maturing friendship instead of just "Hi, I'm your boyfriend/girlfriend" at the get-go. With my multiple characters + multiple jobs = Level as much as I want to. Wewt.

My character Khorijin is a Dark Knight; she considers herself chosen of Duskmother due to her ability to tap into the negative emotion and channel it through her aether. She with a group of her sisters (Borlaaq Tribe) went exploring with the Kha tribe, ended up in Coerthas behind the wall; was subjected to the whole "They're Draconian monsters" bla bla. And here you go. Channeling anger, sadness, and rage into a combative ability through internal and external aether manipulation? Check. Being instilled by the void and using a twisted form of black magic? Nope.

Lost River would possibly be the head Mistress/Baroness or such of an interesting black market head or leader with a quite a curious, seductive, but odd quirk about her.

Lost River is always looking for disciples to teach in the way of thaumaturgy. Although being a full Black Mage herself, she'll have to teach, have people go through the ropes, and many other weirdly fun things. Like trying not to explode yourself. Joy! If Pillar ever wants a mentor in that field, just seek her out or maybe Lost will find her.

Now this is quite the interesting turn of events; Lost River would be intrigued; she'd be able to at least ascertain that the other personality was indeed the negative aspect of the woman's own spirit or a void-incursion. Lost River would -love- to perform experiments. Yes, yes.

I love romance and relationships in game; as an OOC standpoint they can flesh out the character more so. But also comes the dangers of attaching your actual emotion to the interaction; that is a give with anyone in the craft, either role-playing at a table, on a game, or on stage/TV/movie; you put a little bit of yourself into the character. I understand the dangers, but if the two are consent sane adults and do this correctly, it is quite fun to do. If not, its quite dangerous to do.

Oh boy; I wonder what they'd act with Lost River. Other than trying to kill each other. *laughs*

As others have said and as I will agree; play what you want to, honestly. Male, Female, Intersexed; what have you. But, remember with how things are, do not make it your sole defining trait, have it color your role-play. Make it exhilarating, make it terrifying, make it unique and something you can portray as organically as you can. You don't have to be a snowflake nor do you have to be one of everyone else. If you can find an appropriate approach to it and branch outward, have fun playing it. Role-playing is a mixture of fun and challenges in its own right, find that niche and expand your experience. Its how actors become better with their craft, so why not with your own? Most importantly though, have fun with it. If the character is not working for you, there is nothing against re-working the character; if it is, well, there is that 20 dollar change (Name/Fantasia) for you to work with a blank slate on a role-playing stand-point. But most importantly, have fun.
